'I drove three hours to a charity shop and my life is now complete'
A woman who travelled for three hours to a charity shop claims her life is now complete after she snapped up a bizarre item she'd had her eyes on for a considerable amount of time. Thrifting aficionado, Lola Amuah took to TikTok afterwards to showcase her purchase.
Jumping for joy and holding the item aloft, she declared: "It's actually Ed's! I drove three hours for this. The things we do. My life is made." Lola and her pal then headed to a clothes rail in which a series of boxer shorts could be seen hanging. "There's actually some red hair on it, do you think that's his hair?" she asked as she unveiled the item's hefty £20 price tag.
Of course, these weren't any old boxer shorts belonging to a random man named Ed - for they previously belonged to Ed Sheeran. The shop in questions boasts a number of items that previously belonged to - and were donated by - the singer himself in a range aptly named gift-Ed.
"Oh my gosh," Lola exclaimed as she browsed a selection of t-shirts once belonging to the superstar.
She also spotted socks and a hot water bottle donated by the Shape of You singer, as she admitted: "I just don't know what to get, there's so much choice."
Sniffing 34-year-old Ed's socks seemed to make up her mind, however, as she continued: "I've got to get these."
After he friend eyed up one of Ed's old glasses cases on sale for £10, Lola picked up a pair boxer shorts and headed to the till.
"You get a certificate of authenticity with them," she praised, as she also picked out another of Ed's glasses cases - this time by luxury fashion brand Armani - retailing at an impressive £10 too.
Writing in response, one TikTok user quipped: "As much as I love Ed Sheeran I don't think I could buy his pants. But you do you girl."
A second joked: "I thought I was odd, turns out - not really!" Whilst a third asked: "Why would you actually want these?"
Lola took to the comments section too, meanwhile, revealing that the shop in question is a branch of the East Anglia Children's Hospice (EACH), based in Framlingham, in Ed's native Suffolk.
Earlier this year, e-commerce manager Scott Campbell wrote on the charity's website: "We'll be drip-feeding these for sale throughout the year, which means the final total, based on the average selling price so far, could reach around £45,000.
"It's been a huge effort by our team to manage the auctions, especially over the festive period, and something very fun and exciting to be involved in."
Ed is a long-time supporter of EACH and he met staff and families at The Treehouse, in Ipswich, after becoming an Ambassador in 2014.

MasterChef fans in 'tears of laughter' at bizarre Gregg Wallace editing
TV fans officially lost it during Thursday's episode of MasterChef after spotting some unusual editing during a sequence involving Gregg Wallace. The TV presenter, 60, has been caught up in a major scandal in the last 12 months that resulted in both him and co-host John Torode, also 60, being removed as presenters from the cooking competition. Several complaints of inappropriate behaviour against Wallace were upheld, though Wallace denied the most serious accusations against him. Torode was found to have used a racial slur during a staff party in 2018 but insisted that he had 'no recollection' of the incident ever taking place. Despite their removal from future seasons of MasterChef, the BBC pledged that it would broadcast a season of the contest that had already been filmed – with some changes. Those changes have thus far involved two contestants being edited out, while jokes made by Wallace and Torode have also been cut from usual broadcasts. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video So far, the new episodes have largely passed without much incident, but MasterChef viewers couldn't hold in their laughter during one bizarre sequence this week. During the latest episode of the new instalment, which began on August 6, people watching MasterChef at home couldn't help but notice something eerily familiar three times in 30 seconds. In the middle of an exchange with one of the cooking contestants, Wallace can be seen pulling the exact same expression on three separate occasions. Fans immediately speculated that the same footage had been used three times, with TikTok user GingerNatDSN filming the incident from her living room. In the video, she said: 'Okay, the new MasterChef – because they've had to cut out dodgy bits but still keep the presenters in… I still don't understand why they had to keep them in, but that's what they've done. 'They have reused the same bit of Gregg three times,' she added before instructing her viewers to watch and count how many times Wallace's face appeared. On X, @Wozzo22 joked, 'Is this for real?' while several other users responded to the clip with a series of crying laughing emojis to illustrate their reactions. @MarkMcCarthy32 said the clip gave him fond memories of Harry Hill: 'I just know Harry Hill would've had a field day with this on TV Burp.' Some viewers compared it to a famous scene from The Simpsons in which Homer Simpson is crudely edited by a news channel to make it seem like he's about to attack one of the presenters. However, user @IDon'tRememberMyLogin defended the show: 'I work in post-production in UK TV and based on the turnaround time it was probably the quickest fix they could do – just re-use the shot to cover up any cut content. 'The hosts certainly wouldn't be able to be completely edited out, however, unless they re-shot all their bits with new hosts and spliced them in – but that wouldn't really happen due to money.' MasterChef's latest edition, its 21st overall, will continue to air through August and into autumn as the show aims to discover Britain's next best chef. Speaking about his departure from the show, Wallace released a statement, saying he was 'sorry' but also added that broadcasting had become a 'dangerous place' for 'a working-class man with a direct manner'. 'None of the serious allegations against me were upheld. I challenged the remaining issue of unwanted touching, but have had to accept a difference in perception, and I am deeply sorry for any distress caused. It was never intended. More Trending 'To those who've shown kindness, thank you. It mattered. This has been brutal. For a working-class man with a direct manner, modern broadcasting has become a dangerous place. I was the headline this time. But I won't be the last.' Metro has contacted the BBC for comment. View More » Watch MasterChef on BBC iPlayer. Next live episode, 8.30pm, BBC One, Friday August 15. If you're planning to upgrade your mattress this year and are keen to improve your sleep, TikTok users are singing the praises of a particular mattress, which you can buy for £229 that will make getting out of bed in the morning a challenge. The Memory Foam Pocket Sprung Medium/Firm Hybrid Mattress, from has been creating quite a buzz on social media after one reviewer shared her "amazing" experience with her 56,000 followers on TikTok. Beauty influencer, Erin May Lewis, posted the video on her TikTok last summer, cautioning people against - if they wanted to be punctual in the mornings. In a video that garnered almost 7,000 likes and was shared more than 1,000 times, Erin warned: "This is a warning from anybody wanting to buy a bed from Do not do it. You simply will not be able to get out of bed in the morning. "I have never wanted to stay in bed so much since getting this. We got the mattress from Dusk and the bed, it is genuinely like sleeping on a marshmallow. It's amazing, I can't even tell you. It's so comfy.", reports Devon Live. "I've not got up once in the morning to walk the dog and it's becoming an issue. It's like sinking sand, once you're in you're not getting out. If you don't want to be lazy, avoid this brand." Love dreamy Welsh homes? Sign up to our newsletter here Both the 2,000 and 4,000 pocket sprung mattresses are available in Double, King, and Super King sizes, while the 2,000 mattress is also available as a Single mattress size. Since sharing her experience, Erin's TikTok comments have been inundated with other users also singing the praises of products, with one writing: "Honestly me and my partner are exactly the same, so hard to get up, it's so comfy." Another added: "I absolutely love my Dusk bed. I've got the exact same as you in black. Heaven." Indeed, Erin is not the only person to have shared a TikTok review of mattresses, as another account, Lathbury Living, with over 3,000 followers, gave the mattress a similarly glowing review. In their own video, liked by more than 2,300 people, the account shared: "We got one of the Dusk mattresses to go on our new bed, and we've only slept on it a few nights, but we love it so far. It's really comfy, and it's been really hot the last few days, but I feel like it's kept us loads cooler. "It came rolled up in a pretty small box, I couldn't quite believe there was a mattress in there, but it was vacuum-sealed, so when we cut into it it just inflated. It took about 24 hours to fully plump up, but it's really filled out now. "The cover on it is removable as well so you can wash it, which I think is a great feature. We're really happy with it, it was really reasonably priced, and it's been really comfy so far." The mattress is available with either 2,000 or 4,000 pocket springs, measuring a generous 25cm or 31cm thick, respectively. These hybrid mattresses consist of either two or four premium layers of pocket springs, and are topped with memory foam for ultimate comfort and pressure relief throughout the night, ensuring your body remains in an optimum position for a restful sleep. Both mattress options are allergy-friendly and medium-firm, providing edge to edge support, and are encased in a luxuriously textured, breathable outer layer that can be removed via a hidden zip, allowing you to wash it at 30°C, for a consistently clean, fresh mattress. All mattresses arrive neatly vacuum-packed for easy delivery - simply unroll and watch it expand into your dream bed. Mattresses may take up to 72 hours to fully expand. Additionally, offers a 100-night sleep trial on all its mattresses, starting from the day of delivery, giving you ample time to ensure the mattress is the perfect fit for you. It's not just TikTok where people are singing the praises of these mattresses, as both options have received a near-perfect rating of 4.9 stars out of five on the website, from hundreds of reviews. One satisfied customer wrote: "Honestly, the best mattress I've ever had. The last mattress I owned deformed in shape almost immediately, and about a year in sprung a metal spring that cut me so deep on my calf as I was getting out of bed, I'll have a big ugly scar there for the rest of my life. "I spent about the same on it as this one, but the difference in quality between the two couldn't be more pronounced. I recommend this mattress 100% without reservation. "It's firm and supportive, yet soft and comfortable and excellent value for money. I've been having t he best nights of sleep of my entire life! I'll be sticking with this brand from now on. Thank you, Dusk." Another added: "I struggle with a spinal issue and I was very sceptical buying a memory foam bed, as sometimes it can make it worse, but this medium/firm mattress has been an absolute godsend. "It's soft enough that it's very e asy to get super comfortable in, however firm enough that it gives great support. My only struggle now is having to get out of it to go to work." And a third commented: "I was dubious about getting a mattress online but glad I took the risk. This mattress is so comfy. It's firm but in the right way. It gives you all the support, but it's comfy at the same time. Came rolled up and expanded within a few days." Indeed, there was minimal criticism on the website regarding the mattress, although one person said: "Very comfy, but if you are near the edge the mattress gives no support so you easily tip/roll off." Another customer experienced the same issue, stating: "10 days in, and have found this mattress comfortable. Am sleeping well. It was heavy to lift onto my newly assembled, open ottoman base. There is an element of "roll-off" at the edges of this mattress. Still a good buy." You could also get your hands on the Emma Hybrid Original Mattress from £224.10 right now. Alternatively, if your budget stretches further, you could invest in Simba's top-selling Hybrid Pro Mattress at up to 20% off, with prices starting at £639 for a Single, reduced from its standard retail price of £799.

Award-winning chef confronts influencer then claims his career is destroyed
The chef and co-founder of a restaurant in San Francisco has said that a viral scandal with an influencer has ruined his career and family. Last month, Luke Sung of Kis Cafe stepped down from the business, after a micro influencer named Karla Marcotte said she was left 'shaking' and 'frazzled' by Sung's alleged 'disrespect'. In a video posted by the influencer under her handle @itskarlabb, she claimed that Sung dismissed her because her – at the time – 15,000 following was too small for the collaboration. Since the incident it has rocketed to 477,000. Speaking to The San Francisco Standard, Sung said the incident being made public has since ruined his career and hurt his family – adding that this mishap came about because his business partner did not make him aware of the influencer's visit. He said: 'That night, I was running a special with this beautiful coho salmon. I didn't want to be misrepresented by someone who doesn't understand the difference between Atlantic salmon and king salmon. 'So I went over to her and said, 'Hi. Somewhere along the line, I think there may have been a mistake. I'm not sure if we have the same audience'. 'I think I asked her, 'Have you looked up Kis Cafe? Do you know my background? Do you know what we're trying to do?' 'I think there was a lot of 'do you know,' and she was intimidated — which I can understand.' @itskarlabb its a long video and not something i would normally upload but i feel like i had to talk about this experience. i basically ran out of there but i wish i would've stood up for myself. if you are a micro influencer i know it's easy to feel discouraged at times but don't let anyone make you feel small or unimportant!! ♬ original sound – itskarlabb After the influencer's TikTok went viral, Kis Cafe said that Sung's 'behavior was unacceptable' and he was 'no longer part of the team'. But who is really at fault here? The TikTokker for such a public slamming or the chef who decided to confront someone just doing their job? As a food writer who reviews restaurants around London for Metro's food and drink newsletter The Slice, I've had my fair share of incidents that were simply a result of miscommunication. With invitations to restaurants typically managed by a separate PR team it's easy for them to happen – I've had waiters not been made aware that the PR has arranged a complimentary meal, and incidents where the wrong booking time had been made. To me, this is all part and parcel of running a hospitality business, and I like to give staff grace. We all make mistakes after all. But how a restaurant deals with those hiccups is how they can set themselves apart. To question the influencer on her knowledge of the restaurant, and according to the account given in her TikTok, ask for her handle and play her videos out loud right in front of her is condescending, inappropriate and unprofessional. Whether a restaurant offers complimentary meals in exchange for written reviews or content, and who they choose to work with is completely their discretion. And it's clear that somewhere along the lines, there was a failure in communication with Sung and his business partner which should have been addressed between them privately. The pair should have had a prior conversation to make sure they were aligned in their influencer outreach strategy. But to embarrass a guest, whether they are a paying customer or not, is wrong. There is also a lot to be said about taking to social media to publicly 'out' a restaurant – and some might say that the influencer was too quick to share her experience on the platform. However, Karla did not name Sung or Kis Cafe in her video, viewers simply worked out where the restaurant was as it rose in views and received support from the likes of Jameela Jamil. And, like it or not, people are entitled to speak about their own experiences on public platforms – whether it's deemed classy or not. More Trending A few days later the chef apologised on Instagram for his behaviour, however Kis Cafe has since closed down which ultimately results in a whole team losing their jobs. It's a desperately sad end to the situation, as innocent staff have borne the brunt of the incident, and I hope there are two lessons learned from this unnecessary scenario. Firstly, Luke Sung can take from this experience and deal with incidents like these in a better way in his next venture, and secondly, perhaps influencers should pause for a second and think about just who will be impacted by their posts.
