The Age Of Innocence" Limited TV Adaptation in Works
Yara Sameh
Netflix has ordered "The Age Of Innocence", a limited series based on Edith Wharton's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.
Emma Frost has penned the adaptation and will serve as executive producer and showrunner on the Chernin Entertainment production.
The series was quietly greenlighted earlier this year and has been prepping for a fall start of production in Europe for a couple of months now.
A fresh take on Edith Wharton's classic novel of forbidden love in 19th century New York, "The Age Of Innocence" is a will-they/won't-they love triangle exploring themes of freedom, duty, identity, and love in all its forms.
The project is clearly geared toward the wide global fanbase of Netflix's hit period romance drama "Bridgerton", also a book adaptation.
Frost executive produces with Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Tracey Cook of Chernin Entertainment, part of the North Road Company.
Wharton's novel was notably adapted by Martin Scorsese in the 1993 Columbia Pictures feature starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, and Miriam Margolyes.

Enjoy Delicious & Easy Sweet Potatoes Cake
Pasant Elzaitony This Flourless Sweet Potato Ginger Cake is a warm, comforting dessert with a perfect balance of spices and natural sweetness from the sweet potato. It's moist, and full of rich flavors, making it a great option for those looking for a healthier treat Here's a simple recipe for a delicious sweet potato cake: Ingredients: - 2 large sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour - 1 tsp baking powder - 1 tsp baking soda - 1 tsp salt - 1 cup granulated sugar - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened - 2 large eggs - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional) Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease two 9-inch (23cm) round cake pans. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. 3. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy. 4. Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract. 5. Gradually mix in flour mixture, then mashed sweet potatoes. 6. If using walnuts, fold them into batter. 7. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. 8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 9. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely. 10. Once cakes are cool, you can frost and decorate them as desired. Tips: - Use cooked and mashed sweet potatoes that are still slightly warm for best results. - Don't overmix batter, as this can result in dense cake. - If you want a moist and tender crumb, make sure to not overbake. Variations: - Add a hint of spice with cinnamon, nutmeg, or ginger. - Use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar for a richer flavor. - Top with cream cheese frosting for a tangy contrast. "Ma" Sequel in Works with Octavia Spencer Returning
Yara Sameh A sequel to the 2019 revenge thriller "Ma" is in development at Blumhouse. Octavia Spencer is set to reprise her role as the eponymous killer, but plot details are still being kept under wraps. The project remains in early stages, with no director attached or release date set. The original film followed a group of high schoolers who find an unlikely, intergenerational friend in Sue Ann Ellington, a lonesome veterinarian and devoted party animal played by Spencer. The woman, affectionately called 'Ma,' allows the teens to party in her basement, but things get bloody once their relationship starts to sour. The first 'Ma' re-teamed Spencer with director Tate Taylor, who helmed the aactress'Oscar-winning performance in 'The Help.' Released by Universal in May 2019, the low-budget Blumhouse production was a box office winner, earning $61 million worldwide. But the film has grown an even stronger following in the years since, spawning various memes including parody posters and reaction images. Spencer even joined in on the fun in 2020, holding an online contest for the 'best Ma meme' and awarding numerous prizes. In 2024, she referenced the film in a short video posted by the Kamala Harris presidential campaign. In May, 'Ma' featured as one of the re-release selections for Blumhouse's Halfway to Halloween campaign. The pic, along with 'M3GAN' and 'Annabelle,' received a one-night-only engagement in theaters nationwide. The 'Ma' sequel was unveiled by Blumhouse at Atomic Monster and its first-ever Business of Horror event in Hollywood. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream
