What channel is UNC-Arizona on? Time, TV schedule for Chapel Hill Super Regional Opener Here's all the broadcasting information you need to know for Friday's Chapel Hill Super Regional Opener between UNC and Arizona.
There's just 16 teams remaining in the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament, with UNC lucky enough to be amongst that Sweet 16.
On Friday, in the Chapel Hill Super Regional from Boshamer Stadium, North Carolina will continue its postseason journey against the Arizona Wildcats. Arizona (42-18) swept its way through the Eugene (Ore.) Regional and extended its winning streak to eight games, while the Diamond Heels won the Chapel Hill Regional with a 14-4 drubbing of Oklahoma.
UNC looked well on the way to a sweep of its own Regional, thanks to beating Holy Cross 4-0 and Oklahoma 11-6, but losing Sunday's rematch to the Sooners forced a winner-take-all game Monday.
North Carolina struck early in its third game against the Sooners, with Hunter Stokely mashing a 2-run, 2-out double and Alex Madera grounding a single into the outfield – both in the first inning. Oklahoma responded with its first two runs in the second, only for the Diamond Heels to scoring the four eventual, game-winning runs in the third.
The Wildcats started their hot streak to close out their regular season, taking the final two of three games from the Houston Cougars, to win their final series. Arizona's run continued through the Big 12 Tournament, with victories against BYU (4-1), top-seeded and fellow Super Regional team West Virginia (12-1), plus a 2-1 closeout against TCU in the Championship matchup.
UNC opened its ACC Tournament run with a come-from-behind, 7-2 win over Boston College. North Carolina dispatched Florida State in the semifinals, 7-5, then overwhelmed Clemson with a 14-4 domination in the ACC Championship.

UNC vs. Arizona prediction, picks, odds
Whatever challenged North Carolina faced in the Chapel Hill Regional, it conquered with ease. In Monday's winner-take all game against Oklahoma, the Diamond Heels dominated in a 14-4 victory.
Arizona is red-hot right now, winning its past eight games, but UNC presents a significantly tougher challenge than Utah Valley or Cal Poly. Simultaneously, the Wildcats will present a greater threat than Oklahoma or Holy Cross.
With a packed Boshamer Stadium on Friday afternoon, combined with ace Jake Knapp likely taking the mound, North Carolina squeaks out a low-scoring win in its Super Regional opener.

Jordon Hudson shares critical feedback toward podcasters after tense phone call revelation

Jordon Hudson, the girlfriend of North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Bill Belichick, appeared to fire back at criticism from sports podcasters who opened up about their interaction with her. Charlotte Wilder and Madeline Hill, the co-hosts of "The Sports Gossip Show," recently revealed they spoke to Hudson about coming onto their show and that she introduced herself as "the president of your universe." Amid the descriptions of how the call went down, Hudson shared critical feedback of the episode in which Wilder and Hill described the conversation with Hudson as tension filled. "This was such a disappointing take for me," the Instagram user sportslawheather wrote on their Instagram Stories. "'She shouldn't because the money/fame means more to someone else?? Because of her boyfriend??' Be real. "Do I have to seriously argue against (female! Sports journalists that (Hudson) has is justified in pursuing Miss Maine USA, Miss America for her own career and interests regardless of who she is dating." Wilder and Hill both initially thought Hudson wanted to speak about the Miss Maine USA pageant. Wilder revealed Hudson was, at one point, yelling at her and crying and the talk later turned contentious. She added that it "felt like we were always waiting for the other shoe to drop." The sports podcasters talked about their interaction with Hudson in one of their latest episodes. Hudson became a focal point of the college football offseason for a hot minute when she abruptly cut off a CBS interviewer's line of questioning toward Belichick about how they met. It started a firestorm of criticism toward Hudson and Belichick. But Belichick has made clear that Hudson has no role in the football program. "That's really off to the side. That's a personal relationship and she doesn't have anything to do with UNC football," Belichick told ESPN back in May. "I'm excited to be back in the coaches' meetings and getting ready for June and August when we get to training camp. June will be a big recruiting month for us and then August we start getting ready for the season."

Driver dies after medical emergency during race in North Carolina

Robbie Brewer, a short-track racecar driver, died over the weekend after suffering a medical emergency while competing in a race. Brewer's vehicle smashed head-on into a wall at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on Saturday night. He was competing in the 20-lap Sportsman Series race, which occurs every weekend across four divisions. The car came to a halt near the finish line, and the 53-year-old Brewer was taken out of it after track workers took the roof off. Brewer was rushed to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist hospital, where he eventually died, per the Winston-Salem Journal. "We are saddened by the passing of Robbie Brewer after he was transported to an area medical facility following an on-track medical incident," track officials said in a statement on Sunday. "Robbie was a talented and passionate race, and highly respected competitior among his peers. Our thoughts and prayers are with Robbie's family and friends at this time." Details of Brewer's medical emergency were not disclosed. Brad Lewis, a fellow driver at Bowman Gray, said Brewer "was like a big brother to me even though we were not that far apart in age." Lewis' race shop was near where Brewer lived. "He was a wheelman thorugh and through," Lewis added. "I'm not only going to honor him the rest of the season, but for as long as we race out there. He'll be missed." Brewer has been racing at the track, which served as a preseason NASCAR Cup Series exhibition event back in February, since 1990. Brewer made almost 260 Sportsman Division starts, and he won the championship in 2011, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

Stock Car Racer Passes Away After Crashing

Read the full story on Backfire News Veteran stock car racer Robbie Brewer passed away after crashing at Bowman Gray Stadium in North Carolina on Saturday night. While his collision with the wall on turn four during the Sportsman division race looked scary, that was apparently not what killed the reports from local news stations say Brewer suffered some sort of medical emergency which caused him to crash. Pictures of his racecar from after the incident look worse because track personnel had to rip off the roof just to reach him. They then pulled the man out of the stock car, loaded him into an ambulance, and rushed him off to the hospital. According to Flo Racing, Brewer suffered a heart attack while he was driving. There were just four laps left in the first of two 20-lap races for the Sportsman division on Saturday night. Fortunately, after Brewer's car hit the wall and bounced off, other racers were able to avoid a secondary collision with him, otherwise the night might have been even more tragic. Brewer enjoyed a successful career of racing, having one 11 times in Sportsman races at Bowman Gray Stadium. He was also the division champion back in 2011. For the 2015 season, the man racked up four wins, his best showing. With 311 career starts at Bowman, it's a track he knew well. Unfortunately, it was also the last one he ever raced. Image via WXII
