What channel is UNC-Arizona on? Time, TV schedule for Chapel Hill Super Regional Opener Here's all the broadcasting information you need to know for Friday's Chapel Hill Super Regional Opener between UNC and Arizona.
There's just 16 teams remaining in the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament, with UNC lucky enough to be amongst that Sweet 16.
On Friday, in the Chapel Hill Super Regional from Boshamer Stadium, North Carolina will continue its postseason journey against the Arizona Wildcats. Arizona (42-18) swept its way through the Eugene (Ore.) Regional and extended its winning streak to eight games, while the Diamond Heels won the Chapel Hill Regional with a 14-4 drubbing of Oklahoma.
UNC looked well on the way to a sweep of its own Regional, thanks to beating Holy Cross 4-0 and Oklahoma 11-6, but losing Sunday's rematch to the Sooners forced a winner-take-all game Monday.
North Carolina struck early in its third game against the Sooners, with Hunter Stokely mashing a 2-run, 2-out double and Alex Madera grounding a single into the outfield – both in the first inning. Oklahoma responded with its first two runs in the second, only for the Diamond Heels to scoring the four eventual, game-winning runs in the third.
The Wildcats started their hot streak to close out their regular season, taking the final two of three games from the Houston Cougars, to win their final series. Arizona's run continued through the Big 12 Tournament, with victories against BYU (4-1), top-seeded and fellow Super Regional team West Virginia (12-1), plus a 2-1 closeout against TCU in the Championship matchup.
UNC opened its ACC Tournament run with a come-from-behind, 7-2 win over Boston College. North Carolina dispatched Florida State in the semifinals, 7-5, then overwhelmed Clemson with a 14-4 domination in the ACC Championship.

UNC vs. Arizona prediction, picks, odds
Whatever challenged North Carolina faced in the Chapel Hill Regional, it conquered with ease. In Monday's winner-take all game against Oklahoma, the Diamond Heels dominated in a 14-4 victory.
Arizona is red-hot right now, winning its past eight games, but UNC presents a significantly tougher challenge than Utah Valley or Cal Poly. Simultaneously, the Wildcats will present a greater threat than Oklahoma or Holy Cross.
With a packed Boshamer Stadium on Friday afternoon, combined with ace Jake Knapp likely taking the mound, North Carolina squeaks out a low-scoring win in its Super Regional opener.

De La Cruz out of Reds' lineup against Arizona after flight from Dominican Republic canceled
CINCINNATI (AP) — Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz will not be in the lineup for Cincinnati's series opener against Arizona on Friday night after his flight from the Dominican Republic, where he was mourning the death of his older sister, was canceled. The 23-year-old De La Cruz returned to the Dominican after Wednesday's 9-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. He was not placed on the bereavement list and was expected to be back in Cincinnati late Friday. 'He was actually trying to get here in time for the game, but one of his flights got canceled, so he's getting here later,' Reds manager Terry Francona said. The Reds got a boost to the lineup Friday when first baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. He had been on the IL since April 17 due to back inflammation. Second baseman Matt McLain moved to short in place of De La Cruz, and Garrett Hampson was set to play second base against the Diamondbacks. ___ AP MLB:

Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burnes will undergo Tommy John surgery
CINCINNATI — All-Star right-hander Corbin Burnes of the Arizona Diamondbacks is set to undergo Tommy John elbow surgery, ending his season early in the first year of a $210 million, six-year contract. Manager Torey Lovullo said Friday the decision was made with 'a lot of people weighing in.' Lovullo said the surgery probably would be scheduled for next week. The announcement came three days after the Diamondbacks put Burnes on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation. The 30-year-old left his most recent start with Arizona leading 3-0 in the top of the fifth inning Sunday. After Burnes allowed a single by CJ Abrams with two outs, he gestured toward the dugout with his glove and yelled in frustration. Burnes allowed a run and four hits in 4 2/3 innings. He is 3-2 with a 2.66 ERA in 11 starts this season. Burnes signed with the Diamondbacks after earning his fourth consecutive All-Star nod in his only season with Baltimore last year. He spent his first six years with Milwaukee before an offseason trade to the Orioles in early 2024. 'This is a tough day to get this news,' Lovullo said. 'But we'll find a way to rally around him, play hard for him all year long.'
