Mini Mahanadu a grand success at Fremont in US
The event organised by NRI TDP leader Srikant Doddapaneni had begun at 7 pm on Wednesday at Bheemavaram Ruchulu Banquet Hall in the Bay Area of Fremont. It was conducted in a 'never before-ever after' way and rich tributes are paid to late NT Rama Rao.
TDP MPs from both the Telugu States, Ministers, MLAs and party senior leaders along with BRS leaders from Telangana virtually attended the event. TUDA chairman Diwakar Reddy, TDP politburo member Nakka Ananda Babu along with several party senior leaders attended the event virtually.
Party leader Jayaram Kumati expressed happiness over large scale attendance by TDP leaders for the programme. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who closely followed the footsteps of late NTR, has encouraged IT industry following which Telugus are now holding high positions in the sector across the globe, he said.
All those who are present made it clear that they will follow the directions of Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, and that they will try their best for the progress of Navya Andhra.

BJP backs school fee Bill, AAP seeks House scrutiny
The Hindu Bureau The Delhi Assembly on Tuesday saw a heated discussion on the School Education (Fee Regulation and Transparency) Bill, 2025, with the Opposition demanding that it be sent to a Select Committee to incorporate feedback from parents and other stakeholders. The debate came a day after Education Minister Ashish Sood tabled the Bill, which aims to regulate fee hikes in private schools. BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay lauded it as a 'revolutionary step' in Delhi's education history, while party colleague Ajay Kumar Mahawar said, 'With this Bill, CM Rekha Gupta is wiping away the tears of lakhs of parents.' However, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Prem Chauhan criticised the composition of the proposed fee regulation committees, pointing out that six out of 11 members would be from the school, potentially compromising impartiality. 'There should have been more parents than administrators,' he said, cautioning that the multilayered redress process could result in delayed justice. 'By the time a complaint is addressed, the child may have already passed out or left the school,' Mr. Chauhan said. He reiterated AAP's demand to refer the Bill to a Select Committee with members from both the BJP and AAP, and called for a freeze on fees for the current academic year, citing delays in the Bill's introduction. Responding to the Opposition, BJP MLA Mohan Singh Bisht said public turnout and support for the Bill demonstrated its urgency and relevance. Parent protests While the Assembly debated the Bill, some parent groups held protests and submitted their recommendations to Mr. Sood. One key demand of the protesters was that any parent, not just 15% of them, should be allowed to raise an issue with the district-level committee. On fee-related clauses, parents objected to subjective criteria such as the school's location and educational standard. They demanded a uniform fee structure and standardised fee heads across all schools to avoid ambiguity. 'False narratives' The Education Minister's office said he had met parents ahead of the Assembly debate and dismissed AAP's criticism as 'false narratives'. He clarified that the Bill supplements the Delhi School Education Act, 1973, by introducing stronger checks and balances to protect students and parents. The Minister assured that the Bill provides for three layers of oversight and includes penalties for violations.

LDA eases norms for housing maps, gives nod to new building bylaws
Lucknow: Maps of single residential buildings on govt roads less than 9mt can now be approved. This proposal, along with 59 other proposals, was approved in the 185th board meeting of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) held on Tuesday. The meeting, chaired by LDA chairperson and divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob, approved a range of urban development proposals. These included high-tech group housing projects across four locations in the city, a modern bus terminal at Charbagh, new e-vehicle infrastructure at Basant Kunj, and land purchase for the upcoming housing scheme Naimishnagar near BKT and Varun Vihar near Mohan Road. The proposal for single residential buildings constructed on roads less than 9mt wide by govt departments on residential-use land —excluding illegal colonies — was approved with certain conditions in the board meeting. The board cleared the construction of over 1,100 high-end flats at Viraj Khand in Gomtinagar, Mill Road in Aishbagh and the Basant Kunj scheme. These flats, spread across 4.5, 3.5, 4.63 and 3.7 acres respectively, will include 3BHK and 2BHK units. The project will be equipped with all modern facilities and green areas. LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar said, "The new policy is intended to make the process more accessible for the general public and beneficial for small traders and business owners." A modern bus terminal will also be developed at Charbagh under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, while a 1,000 sqmt plot in the Basant Kunj scheme will be allotted to City Transport Services Limited for setting up an e-auto and e-rickshaw charging station. Meanwhile, registrations for the 1,832 multi-storey flats being constructed by LDA under the affordable housing category are ongoing. These 1BHK and 2BHK units will feature lifts, fire safety systems, DG sets for power backup and upgraded external infrastructure. Moreover, the authority sanctioned the complete scanning and digital preservation of protected and created files, followed by systematic weeding as per state govt guidelines. Furthermore, the LDA board gave approval to the New building bylaws and zoning regulation-2025, which clears the way for skyscrapers in the city. The authority also approved a proposal to treat Shaheed Path, Kisan Path and the proposed Green Corridor from Pakka Pul to Daliganj as special convenience zones.
