Mohit Suri's Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is generating buzz. Advance bookings show promising numbers, especially in Hindi regions. The film's advance gross is approximately Rs 2.20 crore. Saiyaara has the potential to be the biggest opening for newcomers. The film faces competition from past releases. Saiyaara releases on July 18th with a discount offer.
The much-anticipated film Saiyaara, directed by
Mohit Suri
and starring newcomers
Ahaan Panday
and
Aneet Padda
, has generated significant buzz ahead of its release. As per the first-day advance booking report shared by Sacnilk at 10 AM, the film is showing promising numbers, indicating that moviegoers are eagerly awaiting its arrival in theaters.
The advance booking statistics suggest a strong opening, especially in the Hindi-speaking regions.

The Saiyaara first-day advance gross stands at Rs 86,57,587 (approximately 86.58 Lac). This gross figure reflects the total revenue generated from advance bookings across multiple regions. The number of tickets sold, as per the report, is 28,532, which further underscores the growing anticipation for the film.
Currently, the booking has opened for about 1950 shows.
The film has also generated a good block booking for itself -its number is currently hovering around Rs 1.33 crore - thus taking the overall advance booking of the film to Rs 2.20 crore. The film is still two days away from release and going by the trend, it has all the potential to become the biggest opening day collection for a film with newcomers. The record is currently held by Ishaan Khattar and
Janhvi Kapoor
's debut film Dhadak, which had an opening day collection of Rs 8.5 crore.
One also needs to factor in that the makers of Saiyaara are offering 50 % discount until Rs 200 on booking of 2 tickets or more for the opening day. So one needs to take the total collection of the film with a pinch of salt as how much is the original amount and how much is discounted
While there are 7 other films releasing on 18th July- Saiyaara has the strongest chance of shining but it will face resistance for past releases like
Aamir Khan
's Sitaare Zameen Par,
Rajkummar Rao
's Maalik,
Scarlett Johansson
's Jurassic Park: Rebirth and
Brad Pitt
's F1.

Saiyaara: Why Gen Z can't stop loving Ahaan Pandey-Aneet Padda film?

There's been a clear appetite building among the new generation of audiences for a heartfelt, all-consuming love story, and Mohit Suri's Saiyaara seems to have arrived right on cue. It's been a long time since Bollywood delivered a romance of this scale, sincerity, and emotional intensity. What's interesting is that Gen Z has grown up watching films like Rockstar, Tamasha, Laila Majnu, Sanam Teri Kasam, and look at the pattern here: most of these didn't work commercially when they were first released. Why? They were looking for the right audience. They were waiting for the right ears to listen. Turns out, they were waiting for Gen Z. These are the films Gen Z discovered, obsessed over, and grew up with. And now, when most of them got re-released, in the last two years, or found second lives on streaming and in special screenings, they've done brilliantly. Over the years, if you've scrolled through Instagram, chances are you've come across every other reel featuring someone young, fanboying over these films. Which proves the point: there's always been a market for intense love stories that hurt as well as heal. The industry just wasn't tapping into it properly. That's why, in a dark theatre, when audiences saw Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda as Krish and Vaani, they felt for them, deeply. Because they saw themselves in them. Viewers had grown tired of watching the same established stars pair up in film after film, often with little chemistry and performances overshadowed by their own stardom. In contrast, Saiyaara offered something refreshing: two new faces who felt real, vulnerable, and entirely relatable. The kind of people you might actually spot at a coffee shop or an open mic night. This relatability struck a powerful emotional chord. A huge part of that impact was also thanks to the unconventional marketing strategy by Yash Raj Films, specifically by director Mohit Suri and producer Aditya Chopra. The lead pair was intentionally kept away from all promotional activity before the film's release — there were no interviews, no hyperglam photos on Instagram, no 'accidental' sighting by the paparazzi. On the contrary, both Ahaan and Aneet appeared to be on an Insta detox for months at end. Saiyaraa is the most low-key launch of a lead pair since Instagram. Even now, YRF doesn't intend to do a media blitzkrieg with them and their social media is only about the film. #Saiyaaraa a musical journey I never thought i will like this movie but I loved it both actor performance were good but fL performance was in another level ahaan should work on his facial expression songs were good but last song 🔥I got goosebumps theatre experience was very good — Rishi Gupta (@rishig51) July 19, 2025 Also Read | In Saiyaara's final act, Mohit Suri channels the best of Aditya Chopra's brand of romance In fact, Aditya reportedly mentored Ahaan over the past few years, asking him, unlike many other 'nepo-kids' — to seriously focus on his craft and avoid any PR or media exposure. Similarly, Mohit Suri chose Aneet because he wanted a girl who looked simple and unpolished, someone the audience could instantly connect with. He has even spoken about looking for youngsters who have not cosmetically enhanced their faces. And now, with Saiyaara becoming such a breakout success, comparisons are being drawn to earlier iconic debuts, like Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (which launched Hrithik Roshan and Amisha Patel), and even further back, to Maine Pyaar Kiya and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (which introduced Salman Khan and Aamir Khan respectively). Another factor working in Saiyaara's favour is the return of Mohit Suri, a director whose body of work resonates deeply with the Gen Z audience. His filmography reads like the playlist of a generation: Woh Lamhe, Awarapan, Raaz 2, Murder 2, Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Half Girlfriend. While not all of them are loved, they did make him a household name. With Saiyaara, Suri seems to have delivered his most polished, mature, and crowd-pleasing film yet. Shared post on Time And of course, the music. As Karan Johar once said, nothing works better than a well-made heartbreak song, and Saiyaara seems to have taken that to heart. At its core, the film plays like a playlist of soul-stirring songs, all stitched together by an intense, aching love story between the leads. It also brings up an interesting point, watching Saiyaara in a packed theatre reveals just how perfectly it speaks to Gen Z. This is a generation of audiences that lives both in the moment and through their phones, capturing everything for reels, snaps, stories, and posts. It's a strange fixation: to live presently, but also virtually. And Saiyaara gives them the perfect backdrop. From soaring musical moments to gorgeously framed emotional beats, the film offers scene after scene that feels made to be recorded, shared, and remembered. It's almost like being at a concert, your favorite song playing, your phone in hand, and your heart wide open. It's like sitting in a theatre and suddenly remembering why we fell in love with going to the movies in the first place.

Supermodel, who played Sridevi's husband, quit Bollywood after receiving immense hate for a 10-second scene, left India forever and changed his name

As far as debuts go, it was a dream one — starring opposite Sridevi, being launched by Yash Chopra, even if the length of the role itself was minuscule. However, India's reigning supermodel at that time, Deepak Malhotra, was undone by that very short role and a dialogue. After his rise as a top model in the 1980s, Deepak got an opportunity to be launched by Yash Raj Films in Lamhe (1991) opposite Sridevi. It was meant to be his golden chance, a breakthrough for his acting career, but everything went downhill after the release of the film. After a successful modelling career and become a heartthrob among women, he failed to get more offers only because of one badly delivered dialogue. This was long before social media trolling will become a thing but Deepak's one dialogue 'Pallo', as he speaks to Sridevi in Lamhe, became his undoing. As work dried up, Deepak left for the US. He changed his name to Dino Martelli, and is now an entrepreneur, living in New York. The model-actor was born in Bangalore in 1964. Deepak was a national-level gymnast before completing his studies at Christ University (1982-85). His athletic and lean physique was preferred by fashion photographers, hence helped him get many modelling offers. By late-80s, he earned a lot of fame as a super model, not just in Bangalore, but the whole country. He soon signed a contract with Vimal Suitings and became the highest-paid model in India, and reportedly chargeed a humongous Rs 1.5 lakh back in 1987. Around the same time, he started receiving film offers and he chose his first film to be the romantic drama Lamhe, with Sridevi, directed by the iconic Yash Chopra. The movie also featured Anil Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman and Anupam Kher and was a story ahead of its time. Sridevi portrayed a double role as both mother and daughter – Pallavi and Pooja. Deepak played Pallavi's love interest and husband, Siddharth. But, after the release, the film tanked badly at the box office. ALSO READ | Honey Irani says people began taking her seriously after she wrote Lamhe: 'Someone said I'd ghost-write Salim-Javed's work' In addition, Deepak's performance was brutally criticised by critics. He was judged by one scene, which then became a pop culture reference. The sequence was about Pallavi fainting and Siddharth trying to wake her up, and the audience wasn't happy with his monotone and stiff delivery. His act in the famous 'Pallo' moment became a huge joke in the early 90s and we have seen many memes around it. The actor had dropped out of a leading role in Rajiv Mehra's Chamatkar (1992) for a small supporting role in Lamhe. Chamatkar finally went to Shah Rukh Khan who was just starting his ascent in Bollywood. Deepak Malhotra was also being considered by Yash Chopra for his next film, Darr. However, after the negative response to his acting skills in Lamhe, the director replaced him with Sunny Deol. The actor also lost several other films, including Bekhudi to Kamal Sadanah, Suryavanshi to Salman Khan, and Junoon to Rahul Roy. In fact, he was even being considered a rival to the young actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. But by 1993, he had run out of offers. Soon after, he quit films and moved to the US. After Lamhe, his only release was N Chandra's Tejasvini, which was another box office disaster. To step away from the limelight completely, Deepak Malhotra changed his name to Dino Martelli. He continued to model there and also studied industrial engineering and designing, but eventually became a garment entrepreneur. He also made headlines for his relationship rumours with former supermodel-turned-fashion show choreographer, Lubna Adam. Deepak Malhotra is now living in New York since many years. In 2018, he founded his own apparel brand and is serving as its principal currently. He got married to Lubna and have two sons together – Kian and Kyle. Both brothers followed their father's footsteps and modelled for Manish Malhotra a few years ago.
