Housefull 5 Box Office Preview: Akshay Kumar starrer run time, screen count, advance booking & opening day
Akshay Kumar is returning to the box office on June 6 with the Sajid Nadiadwala produced Housefull 5. The comic caper is the first franchise in India to hit number 5, and is releasing with a lot of anticipation, which the makers have attempted to spike with the strategy of releasing the same film with two different climaxes all across the country. Housefull 5 (A & B) has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved run time of 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Housefull 5 is seeing an All India release by Pen Marudhar, and the distributor is going wide with the showcasing, giving the film a release on over 5000 screens all across the country. This makes Housefull 5 the biggest release till date for Akshay Kumar, and the shows at the moment are split 60:40 in the favour of Housefull 5A: Housefull 5B. The film is led by Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh with Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Sonam Bajwa among others.
The advances for Housefull 5 opened on Saturday evening, and the response in the chains is just about average, though the hope is on the film to gain momentum from Wednesday evening, leading to the final day of sales. As on Wednesday at 3.30 PM, Housefull 5 has sold approximately 27,500 ticket s in the top 3 national chains, PVRInox and Cinepolis. The film will be looking to close the day with pre-sales of 40,000 tickets, leaving a lot to be done on the final day. The closest comparison one can draw is with Raid 2 (Labour Day), whose pre-sales stood at 33,000 tickets on Wednesday morning for a Thursday release, and the final sale closed at 93,000 tickets.
Housefull 5 is expected to be around the 42,000-ticket mark on Thursday morning, and the hope is on the film to showcase a better movement on the final day and clock a final pre-sale around the 1,25,000-ticket mark. The pricing of Housefull 5 is a lot higher than Raid 2, and a final advance in the north of 1,15,000 ticket mark will keep it in the race to be in the range of Rs 20 crore to Rs 25 crore on day one. Though one must note that HF is a much bigger franchise than Raid, and hence, better performance is the least that one can expect.
Miraj on the other hand has sold approx. 2500 tickets for Housefull 5 at the same time, whereas the presales at MovieMax and Rajhans stands at 1200 tickets and 1500 tickets respectively. The advances outside of PVRInox and Cinepolis are better, but there's still a long way to go and the film will be looking to gain momentum in the last 36 hours. The biggest plus for Housefull 5 rests in the advances for Saturday and Sunday in the chains, which means that if the reports come in favour, the film will definitely see a big surge in collections. In the national chains, the Akshay Kumar starrer has sold 16,000 tickets for Saturday (Bakri Eid) and 12,000 tickets for Sunday and this should see a bigger surge on Friday, if the reports of 'entertaining content' come into play.
The things at the moment are not so impressive, but there is a hope for a franchise comedy as big as Housefull 5 to pick up the pace in pre-sales and reach a number on the first day, that lays the platform for the film to pose a good result over the 3-day weekend. New Delhi: If you have a home loan, your EMI is set to reduce by over Rs 1,500 a month thanks to the Reserve Bank of India's latest move. With the central bank cutting the repo rate by 50 basis points -- from 6 per cent to 5.5 per cent -- banks are expected to lower interest rates on loans. For a Rs 50 lakh home loan over 20 years, this could mean monthly savings of Rs 1,569 and annual savings of nearly Rs 19,000, offering much-needed relief to borrowers amid high living costs. The repo rate is the interest rate at which the RBI lends money to commercial banks. A reduction in this rate makes borrowing cheaper for banks, which in turn allows them to offer loans to customers at lower interest rates. This directly impacts borrowers, especially those with home loans linked to repo-based lending rates (RBLR). Let's break this down with a practical example. Suppose you have a home loan of Rs 50 lakh at an interest rate of 8.5 per cent for a tenure of 20 years. Your monthly EMI in this case would be around Rs 43,391. Now, after the 50 basis points cut in the repo rate, if the bank reduces your interest rate to 8 per cent, your new EMI would come down to approximately Rs 41,822. Gaurav Gupta, Secretary of CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India), welcomed the RBI's monetary decision, saying that the rate cut will help reduce borrowing costs for home buyers. Beyond just lowering monthly payments, it will improve housing affordability across the country. He further added that a drop in interest rates not only benefits individual buyers but also boosts overall sentiment in the real estate sector, which positively impacts multiple industries connected to it. Importantly, it's not just home loans that will get cheaper -- personal loans, auto loans, and other types of retail borrowing will also see reduced EMIs as a result of lower interest rates. Govt: Over 4,800 km rural roads built in last fiscal
Patna: With a view to improving connectivity, the rural works department (RWD) constructed 1,843 rural roads and 852 bridges in the last financial year. The total length of constructed roads was 4,818.36 km. According to details shared by the information and public relations department (IPRD), the RWD gave administrative approval for constructing 2,024 rural roads (5,250.62 km) and 1,211 bridges in the last financial year. "Out of this, 1,843 roads and 852 bridges were constructed in the last financial year," it said. Stating that the picture of villages is changing with improved rural connectivity, the report said the construction of roads and bridges not only facilitates transportation but also provides easier access to local trade, job creation, education, health, and social services. The report said out of 542 roads sanctioned for Patna division, 493 were completed, while in Tirhut division, 266 (out of 301) were built. Similarly, altogether 117 roads were constructed in Saran division, 102 in Purnia, 49 in Bhagalpur, 248 in Magadh, 223 in Darbhanga, 82 in Kosi, and 266 in Munger. A large number of bridges were also constructed in these divisions in the last financial year. In the current fiscal, the rural works dept has allocated a budget of Rs 991 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund with the focus to improve rural connectivity. Tuljapur temple to resume distribution of prasad with Chitale Bandhu laddoos
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: After a temporary halt, devotees visiting the revered Tulja Bhavani temple in Dharashiv district will soon receive laddoos as prasad, with Pune-based Chitale Bandhu Mithaiwale roped in for preparation and supply. The decision comes as part of a renewed focus on ensuring purity and quality in religious offerings. Confirming the development, Dharashiv collector Keerthi Kiran Pujar told TOI, "The prasad in the form of laddoos will be prepared by Pune's famous Chitale Bandhu." He clarified that the sweet-maker is charging close to Rs 29 for 50g of laddoos, while the temple trust will be charging devotees Rs 30 only. The Tulja Bhavani temple trust stopped distributing prasad some time ago after receiving several complaints regarding its quality. In a significant policy shift, the trust floated tenders in Sept 2024, inviting reputed firms to take over prasad preparation. This move was prompted by heightened concerns nationwide, particularly after allegations of the use of animal fat and fish oil in the prasad served at the Tirupati Balaji temple created a stir among devotees. Chitale Bandhu, known for its high standards in sweet preparation, was selected through a transparent bidding process. The Tulja Bhavani temple is one of Maharashtra's most important religious destinations. It is counted among the 51 Shakti Peethas in India and draws lakhs of pilgrims every year. The temple also holds a special place in Maratha history, with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj known to be a devout follower of the goddess. Officials said prasad distribution is likely to resume once the necessary logistics and packaging arrangements are finalised. The prasad will be made using pure ghee and traditional ingredients, aligning with the temple's cultural and spiritual heritage.
