HER husband is one of Hollywood's biggest comedy actors, but despite this, Dawn O'Porter has revealed she is struggling to make ends meet financially.

She expressed to MailOnline: 'I work pay cheque to pay cheque. I'm always broke. My card got declined last week. I'm like, what the f*** is happening? When will this end?'
The Scottish writer and director has had a varied career, presenting several documentaries and shows including BBC's Super Slim Me and How To Look Good Naked on Channel 4.
Meanwhile, Chris, 45, has starred in some of Hollywood's biggest productions, including This Is 40, Thor: The Dark World, Gulliver's Travels and St. Vincent.
The couple have two children, sons Art, 11, and Valentine, who is eight years old.
The family returned to London last Summer after living in Los Angeles for the past eight years.
This isn't the first time Dawn has opened up about her financial woes as she previously alluded to living quite a humble lifestyle.
While appearing on the White Wine Question Time podcast with Kate Thornton, she explained: 'I've never seen myself as a celebrity.
'Even though I'm married to Chris, who is quite a well-known actor, I don't think either of us have ever seen ourselves as celebrities.
'I guess if I was a celebrity, I'd get paid lots of money to do things that aren't necessarily my job or don't really feed what I do, but I don't. My job is writing, with the occasional little ad on Instagram to pay the rent.'
After struggling to find her place in the bright lights of Hollywood, Dawn decided to return to the UK but it wasn't smooth sailing.
She recounted: 'We were living in LA and I just said to Chris, I've got to go back to London to try and claw back my career.
'And we came back to London for a bit and I'd go for these meetings at TV production companies and I'd been successful.
'I had my own series on Channel 4… and they'd be like, 'What do you want to do?' and I was like, 'I want to do what I do'. But no one wanted to employ me.'
The mum-of-two had a regular column with Stylist magazine which she was dropped by and that really affected her confidence.
'I was cool. I had my own show on Channel 4… then as my career just kind of… declined, I think they looked at me and were like, well she's just not that interesting anymore,' Dawn revealed,
'It was the final blow to my confidence. I was absolutely on the floor because I always felt that writing would be the thing that saved me.
Dawn released her first novel in 2013, Paper Aeroplanes, which is a fictional story loosely inspired by her upbringing in Guernsey.
She went on to release The Cows in 2016 which earned her a place on the Sunday Times Best Sellers List.

John Torode's wife Lisa Faulkner breaks silence on MasterChef axe

Lisa Faulkner has broken her silence after her husband John Torode was sacked as judge on MasterChef following an allegation of racism. John Torode's wife Lisa Faulkner has broken her online silence following her husband's sacking from MasterChef. She's spoken after it was confirmed Torode's contract with the BBC series would not be renewed due to a historic allegation of racism. ‌ In a video posted on her Instagram on Monday night, July 28, the actress told fans: "Hi there, I just wanted to check in and say hello. I'm here and just thank you for all your lovely comments because they really, really mean a lot. So thank you." ‌ Lisa, 53, married Torode in 2019. This is the second marriage for the pair, with the former Holby City actress previously being with Chris Coghill, known for his role as Tony King in EastEnders. They share an adopted daughter named Billie. ‌ Torode's ex-wife is Jessica, and they have two children together. The former MasterChef star, 59, also has two older children from a previous relationship, reports the Mirror. Lisa and Torode first met when Lisa competed on Celebrity MasterChef back in 2010, forming a strong friendship that eventually blossomed. The pair hit it off immediately, maintaining their friendship after filming, but Lisa insists there was no initial romantic spark. ‌ "He was a judge on a show I loved and I was petrified of him. He was brilliant and gave us all tips so you didn't want to let him down," she recalled. "All I could think was, 'That sauce hasn't worked'. I didn't see anything but food for three months. After I won, we did The Good Food Show and stuff. John and I always got on, but I never thought about me and him." John Torode's contract with MasterChef will not be renewed, as confirmed by the BBC and production company Banijay UK. The Australian-born presenter, 59, began co-hosting MasterChef with Gregg Wallace in 2005. ‌ Torode acknowledged that he was the subject of a complaint regarding the use of racist language, which was upheld during a review conducted by law firm Lewis Silkin into the alleged behaviour of his co-presenter Gregg Wallace. Banijay UK issued a statement saying: "In response to John Torode's statement, it is important to stress that Banijay UK takes this matter incredibly seriously. The legal team at Lewis Silkin that investigated the allegations relating to Gregg Wallace also substantiated an accusation of highly offensive racist language against John Torode which occurred in 2018. "This matter has been formally discussed with John Torode by Banijay UK, and whilst we note that John says he does not recall the incident, Lewis Silkin have upheld the very serious complaint. Banijay UK and the BBC are agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef." ‌ The report from Lewis Silkin, commissioned by Banijay UK, found that 45 out of 83 allegations against Wallace were substantiated, along with two standalone allegations made against other individuals, including one for using racist language. Torode acknowledged he was the individual accused of racist language but stated he had "no recollection of the incident" and was "shocked and saddened" by the allegation. ‌ A BBC spokesperson commented: "John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using racist language against him. This allegation – which involves an extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace- was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm, Lewis Silkin. John Torode denies the allegation. "He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment. "The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode's contract on MasterChef will not be renewed." Despite Torode's MasterChef dismissal, he has continued to grace television screens alongside Lisa for their own programme. An insider close to ITV confirmed to the Mirror that their scheduling for John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen 'remains unchanged' despite John's dismissal from MasterChef.

JLS star JB chimed in: "and Alex Jones. Now we're back to share our evenings with you after an amazing few weeks of sport here on the BBC.", reports Wales Online. The pair then went on to discuss England's Euros victory over Spain on Sunday (July 27) before engaging in conversation with guests Freddie and Anna. ‌ This comes after Alex disclosed that her family's kitten Sabrina was severely injured after being hit by a car. The distraught presenter shared the emotional news from the Lake District, where she and her family had taken a delayed holiday on the recommendation of celebrity vet Noel Fitzpatrick, who intervened to treat Sabrina's fractured pelvis. ‌ Despite the ordeal, Alex confirmed that her kitten had undergone surgery and was now on the mend. Detailing what had transpired earlier in the week, Alex also informed her followers: "We think our gorgeous little kitten, Sabrina, was hit by a car yesterday evening but despite breaking her pelvis, she managed to crawl back to the house to tell us that she was hurt." After receiving emergency care, Sabrina was moved to Professor Noel Fitzpatrick's specialist veterinary clinic for further treatment. ‌ Alex referred to the Supervet star as "the light at the end of a pretty scary 24 hours", expressing her gratitude for his quick action and support during what she called a distressing time for her young family. She shared that Noel had suggested they continue with their planned trip, saying: "We were due to come to the Lake District the middle of last week and obviously all of this happened, but we did eventually make it." Noel said, you know, she needs to stay with me anyway so you might as well go, because the kids were traumatised by the whole thing and disappointed - so we did come, and I'm so glad." Since 2010, Alex has been a co-presenter on The One Show, initially teaming up with Matt Baker and later working with various co-hosts including JB, Roman Kemp and Ronan Keating.

Lewis Capaldi's drummer left in 'floods of tears' following performance

The Scottish hitmaker has opened up on his return to the stage at Glastonbury 2025 after previously taking an extended hiatus from music. Lewis Capaldi 's drummer was left in "floods of tears" after he returned to the stage for his epic Glastonbury set. It comes two years after the Scottish hitmaker ended up taking a hiatus from music following his performance there previously. ‌ The 28-year-old singer candidly opened up about his battle with tourettes and anxiety, putting a pause on his music and his health at the forefront. Lewis performed a 35-minute surprise show on the Pyramid stage, having taken a two-year break from performing after his last appearance at the Somerset festival. ‌ He revealed he had to leak his own secret set after he was worried people would not turn up. Lewis said: 'I'm not great at keeping secrets, I wanted it to be a surprise, but we had to start leaking it out a couple of weeks before because it would have been strange to come out to an empty field. ‌ 'By that weekend it was the worst-kept secret. It was genuinely the best day of my life, I loved every moment of it. Almost immediately, I was overcome with emotion and I started to well up, so I was like, 'get it together', but then I turned around and looked at my drummer, and he was in floods of tears. 'It was weird, I knew it was going to be fine this time around. I had nerves and butterflies, but it wasn't the same as 2023 when I was so stressed and I knew something bad was going to happen. It was spectacular.' ‌ Lewis was speaking as part of the launch of Apple Music's Music That Soothes Me series of curated playlists, with the singer himself putting together a track list including the likes of Fontaines DC, Lana Del Rey and The 1975. The series, which features music intended to help listeners relax and unwind, also features playlists curated by Renee Rapp and Bring Me The Horizon. ‌ Speaking about how he relaxes, the Scottish singer said: 'I use music in meditation a lot – ambient music, not what I usually listen to. But when I'm going to bed, I'll listen to a lot of green noise and rain noises, especially when I'm trying to get to sleep, to soothe me. 'Slowing down and being outside helps, I like meditation, and I also go to therapy, which has really helped me with stress. 'I'm not someone who enjoys going for long walks or spending a ton of time outside, but I force myself to do it these days because the effect it has on my mood and my stress levels is just mind-blowing. ‌ 'I think for a long time I was either working or going to the pub, and these days I spend a lot more time with friends in a way that isn't just going out. 'Doing wholesome things with friends is always a nice change. Get outside, go to therapy, do some meditation and hang out with people.' ‌ The Someone You Loved hitmaker says he plays the 'older' work of rapper Eminem and his own demos to relax, joking that the latter 'really knocks me out'. He recently said he had the 'most incredible, surreal feeling' after his 17-date UK and Ireland comeback tour sold out. During the 2025 Glastonbury show, Capaldi performed his new track Survive, which has since gone to number one on the singles chart, and ended his performance with Someone You Loved, the track that Glastonbury crowds helped him to sing when he struggled with his Tourette symptoms in 2023. Prior to the festival slot, the Glaswegian star performed a number of secret gigs and guest appearances, saying in an interview with therapy charity BetterHelp that he felt a 'rush of adrenaline' before managing to calm himself before his first warm-up gig in Edinburgh. Lewis boasts an impressive six UK number one singles, including Before You Go, Pointless and Wish You The Best. He has also seen both of his studio albums reach number one in the UK albums chart.
