Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights tips for scaredy cats
You don't have to like haunted houses to have fun at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights.
Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights 2025 is shaping up to be one for the gamers.
Just days after revealing that "Five Nights at Freddy's" is coming to this year's after-hours event on both coasts, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort announced, 'For the first time ever, horror fans will step into the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Prime Video's 'Fallout.'"
Like "Five Nights at Freddy's" and 2023's The Last of Us house, "Fallout" began as a popular video game franchise.
Thursday's house announcement comes on the same day as HHN tickets going on sale for both Orlando and Hollywood.
Here's everything we know so far about this year's Halloween Horror Nights.
Universal's first 'Fallout' house
This new house, like its namesake show and Bethesda Game Studios video game franchise before it, is set centuries after a devastating nuclear war ravages the landscape, mutates creatures and forces humans to live in underground vaults.
'The journey begins beneath the surface in Vault 33, where guests follow vault-dweller Lucy MacLean as she escapes a bloody massacre, only to discover an evil hidden secret,' according to Universal. 'From there, visitors venture to the surface, where they must dodge attacks from Scavengers and Raiders, desperate survivors who will do anything to remain alive, as well as mutated cockroaches known as RAD Roaches.'
As fans travel through a three-dimensional Wasteland, they will meet familiar "Fallout" settings like Super Duper Mart, 'The Ghoul, an ageless bounty hunter who has endured radiation exposure for centuries,' and a squire named Maximus equipped with T-60 armor.
'Five Nights at Freddies' surprises
It's not yet clear what Universal has planned for 'Five Nights at Freddies," only sharing that it's "coming in a whole new way' with 'more details coming soon.'
First a video game and book series, then a 2023 Blumhouse and Universal Pictures film with a sequel due to premiere this December, "Five Nights at Freddy's" follows animatronics from an abandoned children's pizza restaurant that come to life and kill.
Universal has featured several Blumhouse films in Halloween Horror Nights experiences in recent years.
Start date of Halloween Horror Nights
This year's Halloween Horror Nights will start a day earlier than last year, on both coasts.
Orlando's event will be held on 48 nights:
Aug. 29-31
Sept. 3-7, 10-14, 16, 17, 19-21, 24-28
Oct. 1-5, 8-12, 15-19, 22-26, 29-31
Nov. 1, 2
Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights will begin Sept. 4:
Sept. 4-7, 11-14, 18-21, 25-28
Oct. 2-5, 8-12, 15-19, 22-26, 29-31
Nov. 1, 2
How much does it cost to go to Halloween Horror Nights?
In a break from recent years, neither event is raising its starting ticket price this year.
Single-night HHN tickets start at $82.99 for Orlando and $77 for Hollywood, the same as last year.
Multi-night passes are also available.
Halloween Horror Nights is a separately ticketed event that is not included with standard park admission.
What does Halloween Horror Nights consist of?
Halloween Horror Nights is best known for its immersive themed houses and open-air scare zones.
Each year, a few themes span both coasts, though they may be executed differently. Last year's shared themes were A Quiet Place, Insidious: The Further, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines.
Remaining house and scare-zone themes are location-specific. Orlando usually has more houses – 10 this year – and leans into more original content, while Hollywood tends to embrace more intellectual property. Hollywood is also the only place guests can experience the Terror Tram, an HHN-specific twist on the World-Famous Studio Tour.
Both events offer live entertainment, themed food, and access to select park attractions with generally shorter wait times than during the day
How scary is Universal Halloween Horror Nights?
Scary is subjective. Some guests aren't phased at all. Others can barely stand to open their eyes.
Most guests are somewhere in between, enjoying a good scare in a safe space.
Don't you dare look scared: How to survive Universal's Halloween Horror Nights
Can the actors touch you at Halloween Horror Nights?
They're not supposed to touch you. They may accidentally brush against you in a crowded scare zone, but they won't reach out and touch you on purpose.
By the same token, guests should never touch scareactors, which is what Universal calls HHN actors.
What can you not wear to Halloween Horror Nights?
Guests are not allowed to wear costumes or costume masks at Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights. Universal Studios Hollywood has its own costume policy but also bans costume masks.
Does HHN have an age limit?
No, but the event's webpage says it 'may be too intense for young children and is not recommended for children under the age of 13.'

"Who knew?" campaign casts Walmart in fresh light
Man-of-the-moment Walton Goggins is stepping up as Walmart's new hype man in fresh ads featuring an earworm track from The Who. The company revealed the image campaign featuring the on-trend actor at its annual associates pep rally in Fayetteville on Friday. "The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon emceed the event. The big picture: The world's largest retailer, long known as a low-price leader, now also wants to be known for its near-limitless selection and ability to deliver items — fast. Goggins — known most recently for " The White Lotus," " The Righteous Gemstones" and " Fallout" — made an appearance at the campaign reveal. "[I may] change my last name to Walton, so I'll be the only Walton Walton here," he joked. State of play: Goggins is the nonchalant hero-in-the-know throughout one ad showing off some of the half a billion products available through the retail giant. A home sauna? Yes. Bear spray? You bet. Dancing shoes? Of course. The Who's 1978 rock anthem " Who Are You" plays prominently in the background, and supporting actors declare, "Who knew?" "Who-knew, who-knew," one sings. Spanish-language ads will feature comedic actress Stephanie Beatriz. What they're saying: "The role of this campaign is to really change perceptions that people have of the Walmart they think they know … to a [multichannel] retailer that has a broad assortment and can deliver to you as fast as an hour," chief marketing officer William White told Axios. The "Who knew?" concept will reach into the world of Reddit with "approved hacks" from Redditors and will get time on TikTok TopView, White said. Paris Hilton and Russell Westbrook teased the campaign earlier this week with posts featuring the company's yellow shopping bag imprinted with "I knew." Stunning stat: Through its brick-and-mortar stores, online shopping, and marketplace where third parties sell goods to Walmart customers, the company can sell more than half a billion items. The rollout follows news this week that the retailer will be expanding its drone delivery operations in five Southern cities.

Aimee Lou Wood And Walton Goggins Address Their Rumored Feud: ‘We Care About Each Other Very Deeply'
'There is no feud,' Walton Goggins says of his relationship with Aimee Lou Wood, his co-star in The White Lotus season 3, courtesy of a new interview with Variety. FIND OUT MORE ON ELLE COLLECTIVE That revelation might come as a surprise to series fans, some of whom have questioned the status of Goggins and Wood's friendship in the wake of the third season's debut earlier this spring. Feud rumors first circulated on the heels of comments by co-star Jason Isaacs, who repeatedly referred to 'social tensions' on the HBO drama's Thailand set. Those rumors were further inflamed by Goggins's physical separation from the rest of the ensemble cast, including Wood, post-wrap. As he explained to Variety, that distance wasn't personal: He's been preoccupied with production on Prime Video's Fallout season 2, and on the evening of The White Lotus season 3's finale, he was in New York for an appearance on a late-night show, far from his fellow cast members. In the latest chapter of showrunner Mike White's hit drama, Goggins and Wood play Rick and Chelsea, an unlikely pair of star-crossed lovers who meet a heart-breaking fate in the finale episode. During the Variety interview, in which Wood and Goggins were interviewed jointly, Goggins turned to Wood to express his sorrow at having missed the cast's finale watch party. 'I wish I would have been able to watch this with you,' he shared. 'It was so cathartic and so painful, and I regret that. I really do.' But as the two explained in the cathartic tell-all, they have nothing but love to share with each other, and their rumored 'feud' largely amounts to public misconception. 'I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,' Goggins said of Wood. 'This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I'll be on an island, I think Greece. But she's special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.' In the days leading up to Goggins's recent Saturday Night Live hosting gig, the comedy show revealed a skit in which Sarah Sherman played a parody version of Wood's White Lotus character, Chelsea, complete with a pair of prosthetic buck teeth. Wood later went on Instagram to describe the sketch as 'mean and unfunny,' while Goggins reposted the clip and complimented its humor. Many viewers interpreted this move as a not-so-subtle swipe at Wood. Goggins told Variety it was anything but, and that after he encountered Wood's hurt response, he 'felt awful and deleted his post.' 'I've been posting for 14 fucking years, and if I'm gonna say something, I'm gonna say it to your face,' Goggins said. 'I don't use social media in any way, and I'm not a mean guy.' Added Wood, 'I think it's such a comment on where we're at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don't give a shite about Instagram.' Goggins also addressed why he unfollowed Wood on Instagram after The White Lotus wrapped, as well as his recent interview with the U.K.'s Times, which was published with the title, 'Walton Goggins: Aimee Lou Wood? I'm not gonna have that conversation.' Regarding the Times story, Goggins said he simply did not feel as if a solo interview was the right time and space to address his relationship with Wood. 'What am I gonna do, speak for both of us? Never,' he said. Regarding Instagram, he explained that he unfollowed Wood as a way to distance himself not from Wood herself but from the experience of filming The White Lotus. 'My catharsis in this experience was different than other people's, because of my history in this place,' Goggins said of his time in Thailand, referencing his time spent traveling the country in the wake of his wife's suicide in 2004. 'I knew what [Aimee and I] had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea,' Goggins continued. 'And I knew that that was going to take a while for me, so I let her know, this is what I've gotta do. And she was extremely supportive about that.' He continued, 'I needed to just back away from everyone. I haven't spoken to anyone [from the cast]. I couldn't handle it. Judge me or don't. I don't give a fuck what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that's what I needed to do for me to process all of this.' At the end of their conversation, Variety reports that Goggins re-followed Wood on Instagram, and that they embraced. 'I completely understand,' Wood told him. His response: 'I love you.' If only Rick could have expressed his feelings with this much clarity! ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. Tom Cruise Sets Guinness World Record for ‘Most Burning Parachute Jumps'
Tom Cruise's jaw-dropping and fiery stuntwork in 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' has landed him in the Guinness Book of World Records for most burning parachute jumps by an individual. The actor and producer has undertaken a number of death-defying stunts in the hit action franchise, but he raised the bar again this year by jumping out of a helicopter 16 times while strapped to a parachute that was pre-soaked in fuel and subsequently set on fire. The stunt required him to cut away the charred remnants of the first chute and safely deploy a backup, all in mid-air. 'Tom doesn't just play action heroes – he is an action hero,' Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, said on Thursday. 'A large part of his success can be chalked up to his absolute focus on authenticity and pushing the boundaries of what a leading man can do. It's an honor to be able to recognize his utter fearlessness with this new Guinness World Records title,' he continued. The stunt required multiple takes because the parachute could only burn for 2.5 to 3 seconds before completely disintegrating, Guinness noted. 'The audience can tell when something's been cheated, so it's important to be doing it all for-real,' added Wade Eastwood, the second unit director and stunt coordinator for 2018's 'Mission: Impossible – Fallout.' That film saw Cruise become the first actor to ever complete a HALO (High Altitude, Low Open) drop on camera. The stunt team used an actual military tactic of flying extremely high to 25,000 ft, then dropping the actor, who plummets downwards at 200 MPH to below 2,000 ft before deploying his parachute to sneak into a country without being detected. Previous stunts Cruise performed as spy Ethan Hunt include scaling the Burj Khalifa in 2011's 'Ghost Protocol' and the now relatively low-key feat of hanging off a sheer cliff face in 'Mission: Impossible 2.' Watch the featurette on the stunt in the embedded video above. The post Tom Cruise Sets Guinness World Record for 'Most Burning Parachute Jumps' appeared first on TheWrap.
