We test three tinted lip balms that will make you want to throw away your lipstick
MANY of my friends no longer wear lipstick, instead, we're all mad for tinted lip balms.
They add a hint of colour and loads of moisture and you can reapply without a trip to the bathroom.
These are three of my favourites . . .
BUDGET

Naturium Phyto-Glow Lip Balm, £12 for 10ml, spacenk.com: I have to confess that this is my absolute go to.
I've pretty much got one in every handbag.
The formula is thick enough that it stays put for hours, but it doesn't feel heavy or gloopy, and the colour is the perfect level of pigment that tints lips and makes me feel put together without adding too much colour that I've got to worry about reapplying.
I accidentally put one through the washer a couple of weeks ago after leaving it in my trouser pocket, and was over the moon that it came out unharmed.
MID-RANGE
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm, £23 for 15g, spacenk.com: If you're on Instagram, I would bet good money you've seen one of these balms on your feed.
The cute pastel packaging is major eye candy, and the flavours are good enough to eat – the pale pink 'Birthday Cake' is my niece's favourite, but I prefer the deep-red 'Cherry' flavour.
It has a silicone applicator tip that feels soothing on lips and helps evenly distribute the product, which is helpful as it's on the more pigmented side.

It wears off faster than the Naturium, which means I have to reapply more regularly (and use up the tube sooner) but otherwise, I can't pick any flaws.
LUXURY
Lancome Lip Idole Butterglow Tinted Lip Balm, £34 for 3g, boots.com: I love the bullet format of this balm – and the super luxe packaging – you can immediately see what you're paying for, which makes parting with the cash slightly more justifiable.
How much colour payoff you get differs with each shade – the darker ones are more pigmented, which is to be expected.
I love how silky it feels on my lips, and the glossy shine isn't at all sticky which is always a worry.
My mum is super fussy about lip products but I've got her hooked too.

On her Instagram, Dani said, "The most perfect, special day," alongside a video of herself getting married. A purpose-built glass marquee had been erected in the Buckinghamshire countryside for the event, although the ceremony itself took place outside to make the most of the sunny weather. After the couple cut a giant white cake, a band could be seen in the background poised to begin, so everyone could get the party started with some dancing. Around 60 people are said to have attended the ceremony, which is in keeping with the down-to-earth couple who have a small circle of close friends as well as family to invite. The video of the day appeared to show Dani's having a first dance with both her dad Danny and Jarrod before other guests joined them on the dancefloor. In a behind-the-scenes wedding reel shared to Instagram, Danny looked as though he could cry as he embraced daughter Dani on the dance floor. In the background of the video, a rendition of Ray Charles' song Georgia On My Mind could be heard playing. After a late night partying with a live band, guests could help themselves to take away pizzas. The boxes were specially made for the day and said 'D&J that's amore' on them. In the lead up to the wedding, Danny said: 'I have met every single boyfriend that has walked through my door - and then she brings home the West Ham captain. I have gone from the lying scum, and I hate them, to a man who I would not mind tonguing myself! A strong man. If he lent in I would put my lips on this geezer. 'He is just, as a father and joking aside, he took her on with a 14 month old son and that says a lot about a man I will tell you. He is amazing. I can't wait to give her away. What a touch. But if he was to make a move on me before… "I think I'm in love with him, slightly. He's an incredible person. I just want someone to love my daughters the way I do. I want them to worship them and look after them. Let me tell you that. I love him.' Jarrod joined West Ham in 2020 and has regularly been the best player on the pitch, including when he scored the winning goal to give West Ham their first trophy in 43 years during the 2023 Europa Conference League final.

The presenter, 64, enjoyed his son's milestone moment after a tumultuous couple of weeks after he was let go from the BBC over comments he made about Palestine. The beloved 65-year-old Scottish presenter took to Instagram to announce her one-week hiatus as she ventures up north for a project. In her Instagram video, Lorraine excitedly wrote: "BIG FILMING ADVENTURES! ! ! ! Heading to the very far north - it's going to be amazing - see you in a week's time!" She told her 581,000: "Hi there! I'm in the land of the midnight sun. It's absolutely glorious. It's a project that I have wanted to do for years and years and finally it is actually happening. "I'm heading really, really far North. It is going to be amazing and I will tell you all about it when I am back. I'm back a week tomorrow (Monday) and I will see you then. Wish me luck." It's been suggested that chiefs proposed integrating her self-titled programme with Good Morning Britain, an idea she reportedly declined. The supposed offer would have seen Lorraine hosting the breakfast segment for half an hour each day, similar to the temporary format used during the COVID-19 crisis, which insiders have described as an "easy fix," reports the Express. Sources close to the presenter, now 65, allegedly revealed that she felt "insulted" by the proposal and declined it. Substantial shifts at ITV have had a significant impact on Lorraine, with the programme being reduced to airing 30 weeks a year and the episode length cut from one hour to just 30 minutes. One insider shared: "Lorraine was not happy about what is happening and also had concern for the production team which will be cut back too. "But the truth is she has to roll her sleeves up and work harder on her own show than she has in recent years, otherwise the long-term future does not look good."
