Patrick Kielty 'to be in very dark place' if new Cat Deeley fear unravels

Daily Mirror3 days ago
Those close to Patrick Kielty have shared their concern following his split with This Morning presenter Cat Deeley, whom the comedian married in Rome in September 2012
Patrick Kielty will be "in a very dark place" if Cat Deeley returns to the US with their children, insiders say.

The couple announced this week they have separated following a 13-year marriage, a bombshell which has reportedly led to huge concern for both parties. Residents in Dundrum, County Down - Patrick's hometown - shared their worry for the 54-year-old star, who married Cat in Rome in September 2012.

Some who know Patrick, who has two children with Cat, fear the presenter would be devastated if his ex goes back to the US, where the couple used to live. One insider said: "Everyone is worried about Paddy. The fear is that Cat will go back to America with the little ones. That will leave him in a very dark place." This comes as it has emerged other showbiz couple Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones split after he joined a notorious dating app on a lads' holiday.

Cat began presenting ITV's This Morning last year alongside Ben Shephard, following the departures of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. However, since she and Patrick confirmed their split, it emerged 48-year-old Cat found the return to the UK difficult.

And so concern has grown Cat, who started her career hosting SMTV Live on Saturday mornings, could quite her ITV job and pack her bags for the US once more. Television insiders told Mail Online: "Cat's time on This Morning has not been a failure, but it has hardly been a roaring success.
"It is a job which puts her under so much scrutiny, day-in and day-out, and unlike most British presenters she has plenty more lucrative options to choose from in the States... There is concern that all of this family drama could lead her to walk away."
Cat and Patrick, a comedian and TV host, had lived in Los Angeles for more than 14 years, where Cat presented the reality TV show, So You Think You Can Dance. They returned and Cat swiftly started on This Morning, which is understood to be one of several ITV daytime shows subject to budget cuts. The broadcaster recently announced plans for a shake-up, which includes cutting Lorraine by 30 minutes and dropping it altogether during school holidays from January. It is believed This Morning is set to move from its base in White City, west London, to a smaller, cheaper studio in the centre of the capital.
And Cat, originally from West Bromwich, West Midlands, has also been open about her struggles to adapt to the 5am starts for the four days a week she presents This Morning, and has revealed that it led her and Patrick to sleep in separate beds most nights.

Why Jeff and Freddy Brazier have called an uneasy truce over ban on gran Jackiey – as shock twists behind feud revealed

Read on to find out who the surprising 'peacekeeper' was during the bitter row - and Jeff's shock new legal move FEUD OVER Why Jeff and Freddy Brazier have called an uneasy truce over ban on gran Jackiey – as shock twists behind feud revealed IT is a toxic tale of drug use, 'spying' claims and a ruthlessly aggressive public slanging match that has cast a dark shadow over the legacy of Jade Goody. Today, The Sun can reveal the tense, behind-the-scenes machinations that have seen the late reality star's mum, Jackiey Budden, and the father of her two boys, Jeff Brazier, reach the unlikeliest of ceasefires. Advertisement This Morning star Jeff has quietly dropped his legal case against Jackiey after his son even threatened to flee the UK with his gran. It was this fragile detente that saw Freddy, his Strictly star brother Bobby and their dad put on a surprising show of unity this week at a London theatre launch, where Jeff is appearing in 101 Dalmatians. A source explained: 'Freddy is back living with Jackiey again at her flat in South London, but still spending time with his dad and brother, too. Effectively they've all made peace for the time being and are trying to make things better again, which is doing them the world of good. 'It's actually the perfect outcome for everyone, and exactly what Jade would have wanted. The boys are happier for it, and the constant in-fighting has stopped . . . for now. 'There's no denying that Jackiey and Jeff will never be the best of friends, or even close, but for now it's a peaceful solution. Advertisement 'Granted, she still calls him a 'c**k' to her friends but, crucially, she never bad-mouths Jeff in front of his kids. 'Freddy remains devoted to her — and was threatening to leave the UK to be with his grandmother abroad if Jeff carried on his legal case. 'Even a few weeks ago, it looked as though things would never calm down again and he was still trying to use the courts to keep the two sides of the family apart. 'But the metaphorical white flag has been raised — there is peace.' Angry backlash Details of the bust-up first emerged earlier this year when TV host Jeff began bizarre court proceedings in a bid to block troubled Freddy, 20, from making contact with his grandmother — insisting her frequent cannabis use was a dangerous influence. Advertisement It sparked an angry backlash from the aspiring model, who raged that nothing would stop him from seeing his beloved 'Nanna' — and they were later photographed smoking what appeared to be a cannabis joint together near her Bermondsey home. Days later, Freddy revealed on Instagram he was preparing to check into a Marbella rehab facility in a bid to 'get clean', before making a swift U-turn and claiming: 'I just need a holiday.' He has also launched a series of furious tirades at his father behind the scenes — even accusing Jeff of spying on him and having him trailed by paparazzi to keep an eye on his behaviour — something the TV host fervently denies. Another incident saw his father turn up unannounced at a London hairdressers to confront him about spending time with Jackiey. It is understood Jeff has now parked his plans to pursue legal action, recognising that the expensive legal filings and potential court bid would do little to dissuade his son from contacting Jackiey. But he has also enjoyed a growing relationship with his dad in recent years, including appearing together on TV hit Celebrity Race Across The World, where their quirky but likeable double act proved popular with viewers. Devoted Jackiey has insisted that she has only ever been a loving and supportive grandmother to both of her daughter's children — and said she could never understand Jeff's efforts to divide them. Advertisement She added: 'All these years, I've been the closest thing to their mum.' Meanwhile, Freddy has opened up a new battle after splitting from his girlfriend, Holly Swinburn, following a furious row between the pair, who are now accusing one another of wrong-doing in a dispute, with each threatening to escalate the row by involving the police. In June, Freddy was spotted on a date with influencer Natasha Newcombe. Jade, who shot to fame in Big Brother in 2002, passed away in 2009 aged just 27 after a harrowing battle with cervical cancer. The run-up to her death, broadcast and documented in painful detail, gripped the nation and brought a surge in cancer screenings dubbed the 'Jade Goody effect'. Advertisement Before she passed away, she begged Jeff to take care of her two sons, then aged just five and four. He has always insisted he tried to do the right thing by them, often in private, steering them away from the spotlight in their early years. But the tension between him and Jackiey — Jade's eccentric and outspoken mum — has simmered ever since. Jackiey, a former drug addict who raised Jade alone, was known for her brash style and fiery public appearances, including a famously awkward stint on Celebrity Big Brother alongside Jade in 2007. Storm has calmed She claims she has been unfairly sidelined over the years and struggled to maintain a consistent presence in her grandsons' lives due to her feud with their father. Advertisement Freddy's older brother Bobby, now 21, has taken a different path, enjoying a rise from quiet teenager to Strictly finalist and EastEnders heart-throb. He has largely kept his distance from the drama and maintained a diplomatic relationship with both sides of the family, having instead devoted his time to the Hare Krishna movement after becoming involved with the religion in recent years. He was seen this week wearing the group's trademark orange outfit in central London as he took part in one of their rituals. Insiders say Bobby has acted as a 'peacekeeper' during the row, urging his dad and gran to let Freddy make his own choices — and speaking regularly to each of his relatives. A friend said: 'Bobby's had a lot on his plate with work but he is close to Freddy and just wants everyone to get on for his sake. He misses Jade every day and knows that she wouldn't want this fighting.' Advertisement 8 In June, Freddy was spotted on a date with influencer Natasha Newcombe Credit: 8 Freddy's older brother Bobby has enjoyed a rise from quiet teenager to Strictly finalist and EastEnders heart-throb Credit: PA For now, it seems the storm has calmed, but whether the peace holds is another matter. The boys remain at the heart of their late mother's legacy, and will soon be the beneficiaries of a trust fund left to them, with instructions that it could not be accessed until they reached their mid-twenties — except for education and healthcare. As one insider adds: 'They're growing up fast and have so many opportunities. Advertisement 'And soon they will get the money Jade left for them too, which should give them the strong start in their adult life she always wanted for them. 'Hopefully the peace holds, but when it comes to Jackiey and Jeff, the next fallout could easily be just around the corner.'

Coronation Street's Abi dealt with major bombshell amid affair with Carl Webster

Coronation Street's Abi Webster (Sally Carman) was dealt with some major truths as her affair with her brother-in-law Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) heated up on Monday night's episode Abi Webster on Coronation Street was dealt with a series of truth bombshells as her affair with her brother-in-law Carl heated up during Monday night's episode. ‌ The mechanic, played by Sally Carman, is married to Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) on the ITV soap but viewers have seen things bubbling away between her and Carl (Jonathan Howard) for several weeks now. Things came to a head last week when she found out that Kevin, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer earlier this year, had chosen not to tell her that he had been given the all-clear as he suspected something was up. ‌ It was then that Abi finally decided to act on her feelings for Carl and they became physical at the garage, but Abi called the whole thing off just hours later when Carl urged her to go back to her husband. As viewers will know, this was because Kevin discovered that Carl that he and accomplice Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer) had organised the theft of an expensive car, and could have him arrested at any moment. It comes as one Coronation Street star announced an abrupt exit which saw their alter-ego 'killed off' without warning. ‌ On Monday, when barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) asked Kevin how his cancer treatment was going, he could not come up with a lie quick enough, so Abi took it upon herself to announce that Kevin had finished his chemo and had been given the all-clear, but covered for him by not revealing that this had actually been the case for several weeks. Glenda announced the news to the pub, and Kevin kept up his pretence as she insisted on giving him a pint on the house as the other Weatherfield residents congratulated him. While it initially looked like Carl had set his sights on Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) after buying her a drink in the pub, he was soon seen in bed with Abi, who had called round after becoming jealous that Carl had possibly invited Tracy round. Afterwards, he told her: "I didn't have that on my to-do list. I will have to go to the Rovers more often!" But when Carl received a threatening text message from Fiona about their dodgy dealings, he had to reveal all to Abi after they got dressed. He confessed: "I have seriously messed up. I've been doing illegal MOT inspections. For that Fiona. Write-offs, cut and shuts. You name it, I've passed them all. And I've been doing it from Kev's garage." ‌ He tried to explain to a shocked Abi that he had only been doing it to settle huge debts he had accrued but she shot back: "You told me that debt was paid! You lied?! Oh there's a surprise! Those cars were not roadworthy. Someone could've died. Did it give you a bit of a thrill, ruining your brother's business and then bedding his missus for good measure?!" Amidst all this, Kevin invited Abi on a last-minute holiday with him but she told him that she has not forgiven him for all the lies he told her about his cancer. Following a heart-to-heart with her sister-in-law Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), who was diagnosed with vascular dementia earlier this year, she accepted the invitation but demanded to know from Kevin why he failed to tell her about the MOT scam. ‌ He explained: "Firstly, we couldn't report it to the police, not without doing damage to the business. And secondly, he's still my brother and I suppose I'm trying to protect him. For now, we forget about Carl, and concentrate on our marriage. He's gone from the garage, he's out of our lives and now it's about us." Despite this, as Kevin was speaking to Abi, she received a text message and quickly read it before putting her phone back in her pocket. She then confronted Carl about the lies he had been telling, and he told her that he had been 'blackmailed' after he found out that about the cancer lie. She said: "I came here to call it off, to tell you that I'd forgiven him and I was going to make my marriage work," but Carl quickly told Abu that she was no longer in love with Kevin. She confirmed: "Yeah, but he loves me and even with the lies he makes me feel safe," and reminded Carl that she has her son Alfie to think about as well. In deciding to keep their affair going, Carl vowed to be Abi's 'little secret' for the time being and the pair promptly hopped back into bed together. ‌ Get the latest drama from the Dales by joining our Emmerdale WhatsApp group As drama continues to unfold in the Yorkshire Dales, the Mirror has launched its very own Emmerdale WhatsApp community where you'll get all the latest breaking news, secrets, and spoilers delivered straight to your phone. Carl is the son of Kevin's dad Bill Webster (Peter Armitage) and his second wife Elaine (Judy Gridley) and spent most of his life in Germany with his parents until he arrived on the Manchester backstreet earlier this year. In real life, Jonathan spent 10 years in LA and working alongside big-name stars including Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, but the 38-year-old actor ranks landing a part in Corrie among his greatest achievements. He told The Mirror: "Being in Coronation Street is just as big a thrill as being in a Hollywood film or an American TV series. It's all the same, everyone's telling stories, whether it's a big $200m movie or a soap like Corrie. As a Lancashire lad born and raised, the dream was to be in Coronation Street – that was the ceiling, so it feels wonderfully surreal to now be acting with people like Kevin Webster that I watched religiously as a kid. "My friends ask me, 'what you have been up to today?' and I reply 'I took Tracy Barlow for a drink in the Rovers Return!' It's just incredible to say these things."

Rochelle Humes holidays with Myleene Klass' ex-husband after cheating accusations

Rochelle Humes has been on holiday with Myleene Klass' ex-husband just days after the former Hear'Say singer accused him of cheating on her with another female celebrity. Rochelle Humes has been on holiday with Myleene Klass' ex-husband in the days after she accused him of cheating on her with another female celebrity at her own birthday party. The This Morning presenter, 36, is married to JLS star Marvin Humes and she and her husband enjoyed a getaway with Myleene's ex Graham Quinn and their other friends to ring in their 13th wedding anniversary. ‌ Alongside an array of snaps from the trip to Ibiza, she wrote on Instagram: "72 hours in sea, belly laughing, questionable dance moves and spicy margs that tasted better than our decisions. In one snap, Graham can be seen grinning as part of the group of friends." ‌ Graham used to manage JLS during their heyday after they placed second on The X Factor in 2008 and went on to enjoy a career with hits such as Beat Again and Everybody In Love. It comes after Cat Deeley found moving back to the UK 'really hard' before split from Patrick Kielty. ‌ Former Saturdays singer Rochelle, who has Alaia-Mai, 11, Valentina, eight, as well as four-year-old Blake with Marvin, concluded her post by writing: "Our annual non negotiable child free trip with old friends who remind you who you are. Sore heads all round today but ironically my battery feels recharged! Just what I needed. Happy 13 my love @marvinhumes what a way to celebrate." Myleene recently claimed that she had caught her husband in the act, cheating on her with another famous face, at her own birthday. The Loose Women panellist shared the allegations about her ex-husband's marital mishaps when speaking on Paul Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast. ‌ She said: "I walked in on him with a famous person on my birthday on a balcony." She continued to say: "I'm in my house; it's my party. They weren't having sex, but they were unzipping each other. '"It's not what you think." But I'm like, 'It is what I think". It's the first thing they both said." Myleene told the love expert: "I kicked everyone out of the party, including his mum and dad. They went back to Ireland, and his dad said 'He doesn't get it from me.' I remember thinking that was quite a weird thing to say." ‌ Myleene later married then bouncer Graham. Out of respect, she has refused to name the woman he was cheating with in order to help protect their reputation. It was hinted that the person in question built a career off having a 'family brand,' although the incident itself took place before they were married. The former Hear'Say singer met her ex back in 2001, when he was working as her bodyguard, and the two went on to have a 12-year-long relationship and have two children together before their dramatic split in 2013. According to her, Graham tried to claim it was an alcohol-fuelled mistake, and despite seeing it as a "pretty big red flag," she went through with their wedding in 2011. The Loose Woman opened up about her struggles watching the 'other woman's' life from afar. She said: "I've made peace with that situation now, but for a long time, it was very difficult to see their life. My life literally just broke apart very, very publicly, and their life—they've managed to continue building a family brand on it."
