Sanction letters issued to 2.37 lakh beneficiaries out of 3 lakh target under Indiramma Housing scheme: Telangana Revenue Minister
Of these, works on 1.03 lakh houses are grounded and were in different stages of construction, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said. The scheme envisaged sanction of 4.5 lakh houses, 3,500 in each constituency, under the Indiramma scheme this year involving ₹22,500 crore. The government completed identification of beneficiaries in 88 of the 98 constituencies — except for those in Greater Hyderabad limits — till April 23 and works were progressing at a brisk pace.
Focus on eight districts
The Minister wanted basement works of the sanctioned houses to be completed at the earliest in view of the onset of the monsoons and officials were directed to constantly monitor the progress of the works. He wanted the officials to focus more on Surypet, Peddapalli, Bhupalpally, Hanumakonda, Vikarabad, Siddipet, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts as there was need for the officials in these districts to improve their performance.
Sand free of cost
The State Government decided to provide 40 tonne sand free of cost to each of the houses sanctioned under the scheme and officials at the field level should educate the beneficiaries to make use of the facility.
Mr. Srinivas Reddy said that payments were being made to beneficiaries every Monday based on the progress of the works in spite of the financial constraints faced by the government. Steps were taken to credit the amounts into the accounts of beneficiaries directly, in four instalments so as to not give scope for involvement of middlemen. Accordingly, ₹1 lakh was being credited for houses where works were completed up to basement level, ₹1.25 lakh after construction of walls, ₹1.75 lakh following completion of slab and the balance after the completion of remaining works.
₹5 lakh for incomplete 2BHK houses
Steps were also taken to ensure that eligible beneficiaries without lands were allotted the two bedroom houses which were not allotted to anyone. The government also decided to provide ₹5 lakh in respect of incomplete 2BHK houses enabling beneficiaries to complete the pending works. Officials were accordingly directed to focus on GHMC, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar and Warangal districts where there were significant number of incomplete 2BHK houses.

Officials told to form spl teams to clear pending pleas under Indiramma housing
Rangareddy: With a view to ensure transparency in allotment of Indiramma houses to eligible families, the Rangareddy district administration is planning to form mandal-level special teams of officials and carry out case-based studies before sanctioning the houses in the district. The district collector C Narayan Reddy on Thursday ordered the officials concerned to form special teams at mandal level to resolve the issue of pending applications filed to seek approval of houses under Indiramma scheme. The Collector, while addressing a video conference, asked the officials to approve all the places where the applicants owned a piece of land to build house. The construction of houses should be completed with a brisk pace to help beneficiaries accommodate the same. 'Awareness should also be created about other welfare schemes like PM Awas Yojana,' said the Collector, adding that 'the applicants who availed loans in the past are eligible this time too under the scheme.' The Collector wanted the Agricultural officers to ensure adequate stock of urea at all the godowns in respective mandal headquarters during the rainy season to avoid any inconveniency for the farmers who are in the process of cultivation. Besides, he said, sanitation arrangements should be ratcheted-up in all the government run schools and welfare hostels and welfare facilities. Quality of food and drinking water being provided to the students should be ensured. He suggested that vegetables should be brought to these institutions once in two days instead of storing them for a long time at storage rooms.

On the eve of Jharkhand assembly monsoon session starting from August 1, 2025, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi on Thursday targeted the Hemant Soren government accusing that Hindu community leaders are being sent to jail in false cases. Mr. Marandi alleged that the State Government has been trying to send its opponents, especially those associated with the Hindu community, to jail by implicating them in fake cases as part of a conspiracy. He alleged that in the last five and a half years, many such examples have come to the public domain where innocent people have been made victims of conspiracy motivated by political vengeance. Mr. Singh is local BJP leader of Ranchi and has been active in taking Hindutva agenda at large scale in the State capital. Mr. Singh had made the headlines after he had disturbed the CM's convoy following which FIR was lodged against him few years back. Mr. Marandi further alleged the police officers conspiring at the behest of the government to implicate the common people in false cases. He asserted that it was easy to implicate but hard to prove in the court. 'It would be better to refrain from implicating people before they have to face legal consequences. The Chief Minister is requested to leave aside the prejudice and ensure an impartial investigation of this entire matter and save the future of the youth of the state from being ruined,' Mr. Marandi said. Asked about issues which would be raised by the opposition in the assembly, Mr. Marandi said that it would be decided in the BJP legislature party meeting. Assembly speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato also convened the all-party meeting in which Mr. Soren and Mr. Marandi was present. The five-day monsoon session will end on August 7, 2025.
