Dhoni has been enjoying his time away from cricket, spending it with family and friends. He has often been spotted riding bikes and cars in his hometown, Ranchi. The 44-year-old last played competitive cricket during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, when he captained Chennai Super Kings in the absence of the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad.The legendary wicketkeeper-batsman has remained non-committal about his playing future in the IPL, saying he has ample time to make a decision before the next season and would take a call 'after a couple of bike rides in Ranchi'.At a recent promotional event in Chennai, Dhoni confirmed that he would continue his association with CSK for the next 10–15 years, irrespective of whether he plays for the franchise.'I have always said there is a lot of time for me to decide, but if you are asking about coming back in a yellow jersey, I will always be in a yellow jersey. Ajit Agarkar and the rest of the All India Men's Senior Selection Committee will convene on Tuesday, August 19, to pick the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup. Suryakumar Yadav has cleared the fitness Test and is all set to lead India in the eight-team tournament, beginning September 9. There are several major decisions in front of the selectors. However, the biggest question is whether there can be a place for Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The selectors will pick the Asia Cup squad on Tuesday, August 19. However, Shubman Gill (Test captain) and Jaiswal are two of the biggest names in Indian cricket right now.
