Superman muscles over $200 million at global box office
The writer and director of Superman, James Gunn , on Wednesday (July 16, 2025), revealed the first poster for next year's Supergirl. Milly Alcock is looking nothing less than stunning in the poster. Gunn captioned the post with "Look Out. 2026." The movie is set to hit the theaters on June 26, 2026. It includes a play on the "Superman" promotional slogan, "Look Up." The "Up" is spray-painted over with "Out."For those who have already watched the Superman movie, it might not be surprising that Supergirl is portrayed as more dangerous than her cousin. Alcock has a cameo at the end of the movie when she shows up at the Fortress of Solitude drunk. It is later revealed that she goes to planets with red suns (where Kryptonians have no powers) so she can enjoy getting inebriated.This is exactly what she does during the events of Superman, which is why her cousin ends up looking after her dog, Krypto. The movie is based on the 2021–22 comic miniseries Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King, with artwork by Bilquis Evely.Supergirl is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. It was meant to scare audiences — but no one expected the cast and crew to face real-life horror during its production. It All Began with a Tragedy 3 / 9 The first 'omen' occurred before shooting even began. In 1975, just weeks before filming, Gregory Peck's son died by suicide , a devastating loss that cast a dark shadow over the film from the start.
