Launch of "Identity of Faith" volleyball championship in Sana'a

Sana'a - Saba:
The "Identity of Faith" volleyball championship, organized by the Steering Committee of the General Volleyball Federation under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and with the support of Kamaran and Yemen Mobile, will start tomorrow, Monday.
The tournament lasts five days at the Sam Entertainment Club in Sana'a, with the participation of 80 players representing eight teams. The head of the committee, Walid Faye, explained that the tournament is the first activity of the committee after its formation, and aims to revitalize volleyball in Yemen.
Today, Sunday, the technical meeting of the tournament was held, where the regulations were discussed and the teams were divided into two groups:
The first group: identity, faith, the promise of the hereafter, the light of the message.
The second group: piety, conquest, wisdom, victory.
The first and second of each group qualify for the semi-finals according to the "scissors" system, with the two winners qualifying for the final.

Al-Quds secured the title after defeating the Sana'a team in straight sets, with scores of 25–23, 26–24, and 25–22. Following the match, Walid Faye', head of the Volleyball Federation's Interim Committee, encouraged players to remain dedicated, actively participate in all volleyball events, and work as a unified team alongside the committee to restore the sport to its former glory. He also noted the committee's ongoing efforts to organize more activities and coordinate with regional branches to revitalize volleyball across the provinces. At the closing ceremony, Faye', along with the committee's Secretary-General Bilal Al-Saari and Capital Secretariat branch head Mujahid Al-Ansi, presented the cup in honor of the late international referee Ahmed Al-Marouni to his children. Sana'a - Saba: Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi on Saturday discussed the activities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and its affiliated units with Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mohammed al-Muwalad. The meeting covered the results and success of the summer activities and courses for the year 1446 AH, including the youth and sports initiatives they encompassed. Discussions also focused on methods to enhance and develop the Ministry's role in cultivating the capabilities of young people. Efforts to activate programs aimed at discovering, developing, and advancing talent were also addressed, with a view to raising Yemen's flag in various regional and international forums. The Prime Minister commended the Ministry's efforts to advance this vital sector, which engages a broad segment of Yemeni society, despite current challenges. He affirmed the government's support for the Ministry's plan to bolster the youth and sports sector and elevate its presence at all levels. Scout team training workshops held in Sana'a summer schools

Sana'a - Saba: The Subcommittee for Summer Activities and Courses in the capital's districts, along with district executive committees, on Thursday organized training workshops for scout teams involved in summer schools across Sana'a. Seventy-nine trainees learned about the scouting movement, its principles, structure, traditions, skills, team formation, and participation in cultural, sports, and scouting activities. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Abdullah al-Razihi, Scout Commissioner in the capital, Ali Shamlan, and Deputy Director of School Activities, Abdullah Al-Madani, observed the workshops. They emphasized the importance of scouting in developing youth skills, promoting values, Quranic culture, and faith identity, as well as its role in community service and awareness. They also highlighted the significance of these workshops in qualifying scout teams according to established principles, through coordination between the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Education, to enhance their participation in community-serving programs.
