People Are Waiting Hours To Try Bradley Cooper's Philly Cheesesteaks At His New NYC Shop, So I Spent $18 To See If They're Worth It
Mr. Cooper said he would make the cheesesteaks himself. Or, at least, I imagine that's how the conversation began between the actor and his newest business partner, Danny DiGiampietro of Philadelphia's beloved Angelo's Pizzeria.
Danny and Coop's, the new Philly cheesesteak spot opened by Cooper and DiGiampietro in Manhattan's East Village, is drawing big crowds (and often hours-long lines) for their steaming hot sandwiches and the possibility of seeing the Academy Award nominee in the flesh, a spatula in hand working the line.
Videos of the actor working in the kitchen at Danny and Coop's have been going viral ever since the restaurant soft-opened in December. Cooper first met Philly restauranteur Danny DiGiampietro after eating at his famed Philadelphia eatery Angelo's in 2019. What started as an admiration quickly grew into a business venture and the two went in on Danny and Coop's as co-owners.
First popping up as a food truck in New York in 2023 and again in Las Vegas last spring, the team eventually settled into a brick-and-mortar space on Avenue A at East 10th Street. (They even appeared as a pop-up in New Orleans during the most recent Super Bowl.)
While the restaurant does not have official hours set online, they regularly notify diners of their soft opening pop-ups via Instagram. The lines form quickly.
After seeing videos of folks waiting in line for more than three hours to place their orders, I decided to take the train and wait for a Danny and Coop's cheesesteak myself. Luck was on my side as a rain storm moved through the city on the Sunday I made the trek to the East Village; I was hoping the line would be minimal, and I was right.
Stepping inside, Kendrick Lamar blasted in the dining room as Murray Hill finance bros waited for their orders and out-of-towners shook out their umbrellas. I noticed the lack of chairs inside the tight dining room; the restaurant instead opted for a tall bar that crept around the dark interior of the space, with one side painted black and the other featuring the building's exposed brick. Even on a slow day, Danny and Coop's felt crowded.
A short line snaked to the counter alongside a simple menu etched on the wall in chalk: CHEESE STEAK SANDWICH. SODA. WATER. Thankfully, my choices were slim, as suddenly, I was next in line.
I reached the counter and placed my order, peering behind the woman taking my order... No sign of Cooper.
While I was hopeful to see the actor myself (any other Silver Linings Playbook fans out there?), I was ultimately there for the cheesesteak, not the man. A short seven-minute wait later, and the server called my name.
The $18 sandwich itself is dense: a generous portion of tender chopped steak, jammy onions, and Cooper sharp cheese tucked into a toasted sesame roll (that's allegedly baked in-house).
While satisfying, the cheesesteak is heavy and generally underseasoned. The sides of sweet and hot peppers that they offer are necessary to cut through the oppressive servings of beef and cheese. Nonetheless, this is what one expects from a classic Philly cheesesteak. No frills, just the best ingredients possible prepared with a lot of heart.

What I appreciated the most about Danny and Coop's was that it exuded celebration and admiration for the city of Philadelphia itself. With the speaker's volume turned all the way up and an excited energy about the room, Danny and Coop's feels like a party.
I can't imagine that it was for financial gain alone that the Oscar nominee put on an apron, setting out to make the perfect Philly cheesesteak, but rather a love for his hometown and sharing the experience with other folks in the town he now calls home. It's that energy that he is bringing to New York diners in the best possible way, and the city is better for it. For that reason, Danny and Coop's is an exciting triumph.

‘Summer I Turned Pretty' Cast's Hints About Possible Love Triangle Outcome and Season 3 Changes
The Summer I Turned Pretty cast is just as invested in the love triangle outcome as fans are — but what have they said about potential changes to the endgame relationship? Prime Video's hit series, which debuted in June 2022, is based on a book series of the same name by showrunner Jenny Han. The Summer I Turned Pretty focuses on Belly (Lola Tung) who gets caught up in a love triangle where after exploring her feelings for Conrad (Christopher Briney), she starts to reconsider whether his brother, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), is her perfect match. In the original book trilogy, Belly made her final choice in We'll Always Have Summer, which will presumably inspire the third season of the show. Fans, however, have questioned whether the story will follow the events of the book series or whether there will be changes. Han hasn't given much information away except to confirm that the final season will raise the stakes, writing via Instagram in December 2024, 'One thing I'll say about season 3 of [The Summer I Turned Pretty] ... there are no filler episodes.' Which 'Summer I Turned Pretty' Characters Are — and Aren't — Returning for the 3rd and Final Season There seem to be plans to expand the Summer I Turned Pretty universe — no matter the outcome. "I will say stay tuned, but Jenny's got some exciting surprises. So we're thrilled about a season 3, and she's got a vision for more," Vernon Sanders, the head of television at Amazon and MGM Studios, told Deadline in September 2023. "This show is going to continue to be a huge centerpiece for us, and we absolutely have plans to continue building it. Jenny's got great vision for where she wants to go with all of it, but we're already hard at work developing complementary pieces.' Keep scrolling for everything the cast has said about whether Belly will choose Conrad or Jeremiah: "I do feel like there's a strong chance that that's a possibility," he exclusively told Us Weekly in June 2023 about the show potentially straying from the original events in the books. "Obviously, I know where [my character Jeremiah] ends up going and what ends up happening. But I don't emphasize on that. Because I think Jenny writes it so well that I'm able to kind of get there naturally without having to force it in a certain direction." After season 1 debuted on Prime Video, Han hinted that her vision for the show may not mirror the events in the books. "I really had to weigh what the fans are expecting with where the show is going creatively and find that balance," she told Variety in June 2022. "My priority has always been that I want fans of the book to feel really satisfied by the story we're telling, but also for them to know that this is an adaptation in a new medium, so it's not going to be exactly the same. I think those are sort of the two things that are always in my head. Han added: "I don't want to spoil too much but the books have been out for a while. You never know what could happen with the show. I was open minded going into it. I was considering a lot of different possibilities." More recently, Han teased that changes were coming, telling Entertainment Weekly in March 2025, "There are going to be surprises. There are the things that [book fans] know and then there are things they think they know, and then there's going to be, hopefully, things that surprise them." Two months later, Han told the outlet there would be a 'satisfying' ending for everyone. 'A successful love triangle is one where, no matter what happens, people are going to be devastated and heartbroken," Han hinted. 'Because if the answer feels really clear and easy, then there's no real conflict. No matter what you do, someone's going to be hurt by it.' 6 Book Moments We Want on 'Summer I Turned Pretty' Season 3 — Including Those Belly and Conrad Scenes The actress showed support for onscreen shakeups. "The one thing I've always admired about Jenny is that every season and every decision about what's coming next is purely to serve the story," she explained to EW that same month. "She's never going to do anything that doesn't make sense for the story." Tung continued: "It's all about this beautiful world she's created and giving the fans something really, really special and giving us something really special to work with." Briney hasn't revealed who Belly could choose — but he has some thoughts on the back and forth. 'It's all unreal expectations. It's all ridiculous," he told InStyle in January 2024 before weighing in on Conrad story lines, "You're not going to go to Stanford. You're not going to go to a beach town every summer and fall in love with your mom's friend's f***ing whatever. It's not going to happen. It's stupid. That's not how life works.'

Former Newsboys Singer Michael Tait's Instagram ‘Confession' Explained
Wondering why Michael Tait is making headlines across the Christian music world? The former Newsboys frontman recently admitted to serious misconduct. A years-long investigation had revealed allegations of drug abuse and sexual assault. Michael Tait's 'confession' followed a detailed report involving multiple alleged victims. Here's what we know about the allegations and Michael Tait's 'confession.' On June 10, Michael Tait shared a post on Instagram titled 'My Confession.' He admitted to drug use and unwanted sexual advances on men. His statement followed the release of an investigative article by The Roys Report, which accused Tait of misconduct over a span of two decades. Tait wrote, 'Recent reports of my reckless and destructive behavior, including drug and alcohol abuse and sexual activity are sadly, largely true.' In the post, Tait confessed, 'For some two decades I used and abused cocaine, consumed far too much alcohol, and, at times, touched men in an unwanted sensual way.' He said he made no excuses, adding, 'While I might dispute certain details in the accusations against me, I do not dispute the substance of them.' He also acknowledged, 'I was, for the most part, living two distinctly different lives.' Tait left Newsboys abruptly in January 2025. On June 4, The Roys Report revealed three men accused Tait of assault during tours in 2004, 2010, and 2014. Two said he fondled them after drinking. One alleged non-consensual touching after Tait invited him to share a bed. Newsboys responded in a June 5 statement, writing, 'We are horrified, heartbroken, and angry… we feel as if we and our families have been deceived for the last fifteen years.' K-LOVE and other Christian radio networks paused airplay for Newsboys and DC Talk music after the story broke. Tait wrote that he had entered a treatment facility in Utah earlier this year and had been sober since. 'I accept the consequences of my sin and am committed to continuing the hard work of repentance and healing,' he stated. He concluded by apologizing to those hurt by his actions.
