Actress Mun Ka-young To Make Special Appearance At D&G Beauty Event In KL This August
As if the news couldn't get any more exciting! It was recently reported that 'Law and the City' stars Lee Jong-suk (이종석) and Mun Ka-young (Moon Ga-young/문가영) will be visiting Malaysia for a special screening of the drama's final episode. According to Naver News, the event is set to take place on 10th August, although details regarding the venue and time have yet to be announced. Now, word is going around that the actress may be extending her stay in Kuala Lumpur, as she is expected to make a special appearance at a separate event in one of the city's luxury shopping centres. Here's what we know so far: According to several sources, Mun Ka-young is set to make an appearance at a Dolce & Gabbana Beauty event this August, just a few days after the 'Law and the City' screening. As some may already know, the actress was appointed as the brand's global ambassador alongside NCT member Doyoung (도영), with the pair fronting the Spring/Summer 2025 campaign. While it remains unclear what the event will be about, it is widely speculated to be in promotion of the brand's new 'My Lip Stylo' collection, for which Mun Ka-young was featured in the promo video last month. Nevertheless, fans can look forward to seeing the Korean star in person. BTS agency raided over fraud claims
Industry giant: A woman taking photos in front of the signage for HYBE, the agency behind K-pop megastars BTS, displayed outside the company's headquarters in Seoul. — AFP HYBE, the agency behind K-pop superstars BTS, was raided by police in connection with alleged fraudulent trading involving its founder Bang Si-hyuk, investigators said. 'We are conducting a search and seizure at HYBE's headquarters in Yongsan district,' Seoul police said in a brief statement. Bang, the mastermind behind BTS, is under investigation over allegations that he misled early investors to reap illicit profits from the company's 2020 initial public offering. He is accused of gaining around 200 billion won (RM613.3mil) through the process, according to local reports. HYBE has denied Bang committed any wrongdoing. 'We will dutifully clarify that the listing at the time was carried out in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations,' the company said in early July. It pledged 'active cooperation' with authorities to get to the bottom of the case. Bang allegedly misled HYBE's early investors, who held pre-IPO shares, by telling them in 2019 he had no plans to take the company public. He then allegedly encouraged them to sell their shares to private equity funds when in fact IPO plan was in the making. HYBE went public in 2020, after the shareholders sold their stakes. The 52-year-old is accused of secretly striking a deal with the private equity funds to receive a portion of the profits they made from selling shares following the IPO. The investigation comes as all seven BTS members complete their mandatory military service and prepare for a comeback next year. HYBE announced this month that a new album and world tour were scheduled for 2026. — AFP

This year, Malaysia had some pretty iconic visits from Korean stars with some for promotional campaigns, headlining concerts or just on short vacations under the sun. Almost always, we get a glimpse of KL city through the lens of visiting idols with them playing tourist in the heart of the city. Yesterday (23rd July 2025), 2NE1's Sandara Park (박산다라) shared photos of her recent time in Malaysia on her Instagram. The photos showcase the idol smiling brightly as she walks around Dataran Merdeka and its surrounding historical buildings. From the multiple photos shared, Dara can be seen in comfortable clothes as she visits historical landmarks such as Dataran Merdeka, The National Library, The Kuala Lumpur City Gallery and The Old Chartered Bank Building. She even includes a photo op with ground markings of Kuala Lumpur's 50th Golden Jubilee with the caption, 'Tourist Dara in #KualaLumpur #Malaysia Such a beautiful city'. Malaysian netizens flood the comments with well wishes on her time in the city, such as Instagram user @/bielalah who commented, 'Hope you had fun in Malaysia, kakak cantik. Hope you ate a lot of good food during your stay'. Netizens have also speculated if this was a throwback photo correlating to spotting Dara among the crowd on the 2nd day of G-Dragon's concert in Malaysia.
