Box Office: 23 Hindi films collect Rs 1695 crore in first half of 2025, stage set for War 2, Jolly LLB 3 and Thama
Over 23 significant Hindi movies hit the cinemas from January to June 2025 and ended up netting almost Rs 1700 crore at the Indian box office. The biggest of the lot was Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, which smashed over Rs 555 crore net in Hindi and Rs 566 crore net nationwide, including its South dubbed version. Further, Raid 2 emerged as a SuperHit venture with a lifetime earnings of Rs 165 crore.
Housefull 5 also ended its box office journey at the same figure, but with an Average verdict. Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is still running in cinemas and is expected to wind its theatrical run around Raid 2 and Housefull 5 figures. However, it will be a Clean Hit movie. What turned out to be a major disappointment at the box office was Salman Khan's Sikandar.
Though the AR Murugadoss directorial was planned as Salman Khan 's comeback, it ended up being a big disaster, with just Rs 100 crore net collections. Jaat and Kesari Chapter 2 showed some momentum and wrapped their theatrical run in the window of Rs 85 crore to Rs 90 crore net in India. Rest, all the releases couldn't leave any mark at the box office.
The stage is set for War 2, Jolly LLB 3, Thama, and others to set the box office on fire in the second half of 2025. Going by the trends and buzz, the Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starter has the potential to emerge as the biggest grosser this year.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu trailer: Pawan Kalyan's Veera Mallu challenges Bobby Deol's Aurangzeb in an epic battle to uphold dharma
Hari Hara Veera Mallu trailer: The wait is finally over for Pawan Kalyan fans! The makers of his much-anticipated film Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit unveiled its trailer on Thursday. Packed with high-octane action and impressive visual effects, the trailer promises a goosebump-inducing cinematic experience. The film also features Bobby Deol and Nidhhi Agerwal in key roles. The trailer begins with a voice-over that states how Hindus in India were being tortured at the hands of a ruler, and how a boy was born to challenge his rule and the injustice inflicted on his people. We then see Bobby Deol as Aurangzeb, a ruthless ruler who kills without hesitation and possesses the prized Koh-i-Noor diamond. Next, we are introduced to Pawan Kalyan in the titular role of Veera Mallu. His entry is dramatic — he confronts a tiger, chases down enemies on horseback, and wields a sword with effortless agility. Veera Mallu is tasked with taking the Koh-i-Noor from Aurangzeb and putting an end to his regime. The trailer also offers glimpses of Nidhhi Agerwal's character, who is seen asking Veera Mallu for help. Hari Hara Veera Mallu has long been a passion project for Pawan Kalyan. The film has been in the making for five years but faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the actor's growing political commitments, especially with the Andhra Pradesh elections and his work through the Jana Sena Party. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and A. M. Jyothi Krishna, the movie also stars Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, Satyaraj, and Kabir Bedi in pivotal roles. While the film's screenplay is written by Jagarlamudi and Sai Madhav Burra, the music has been composed by MM Keeravani. After multiple delays, the movie is finally slated to release in theatres on July 24, across multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Netizens laud Priyanka Chopra as she takes Akshay Kumar's name on a global platform with Tom Cruise and appreciates him: 'PC will never not be iconic'
Priyanka Chopra has been promoting her film 'Heads Of State' where she's seen in a powerful avatar, doing hardcore action alongside John Cena and Idris elba. The film began streaming from June 2 onwards but at the premiere of 'Heads Of State' in London, PC was asked about doing big action movies. The actress made sure she spoke about her roots with the global media at the red carpet as well. When asked about doing her own stunts just like Tom Cruise , Priyanka said, "I love what Tom Cruise and Akshay Kumar do. They're really good at that. But, I don't think I have the courage to hang off a plane that's taking off or doing that kind of stuff." She further added, "But, I do love being a part of big mega movies. We do stand on the shoulders of so many people – there's a massive stunt team that made me do all the things that I did." A user on Reddit, shared this video and wrote, "It was nice to have Akshay's name taken here, like to have people from your country being appreciated in a big place like Hollywood, which is great." Netizens further lauded Priyanka as they commented on her post, thus pointing out the fact that Priyanka never fails to take names from Bollywood globally, thus always remembering that she's the ambassador of Hindi cinema in the west. A user said, "I mean, he is Khiladi for a reason! Before khatron ke khiladi, he would host a show called Seven deadly arts with Akshay kumar. And I was super fascinated by that!! And pC has always given credit where it's due!! Love her presence of mind and general appreciation!" Another person said, "Taking akkis name without caring about contemporary 'so called' standards ...Akki Kudos" A person commented, "Always did and still love this about PC! She has a sharp awareness that she is not only breaking the ceiling with her exposure in Hollywood but she knows that she is sort-of the representative of Bollywood out west. And she makes sure to share credit and no shy away from her own native references. That way, she gets to hype up her colleagues, stay true to herself, and in her own way continue being the bridge between cultures. And the best thing? Its never out-of-the-blue. It makes sense in context!" The same comment further pointed out, "When she was promoting Citadel, she was mentioning SLB as a director who has a gran vision for his films and achieves scale that looks massive even though his budgets are smaller than Hollywood's. When she is promoting Heads of State now, and just off the back of Tom Cruise doing M:I, it makes total contextual sense for her to not only use the Tom Cruise name/hype in her own action experience, but also tie in Akshay Kumar along the way. " Another person said, "Just one thing. PC will never not be iconic. PERIOD."

'Deva is the character in this film who touched my heart the most. 'No one else can play this character except Dhanush," he said. 'It has become a regular affair for you. But let me wish you well in advance. Congratulations, the award for best actor should come to you. If you win, everyone will be proud. Otherwise, there is no point to National Awards. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music for the film, and Niketh Bommi did the cinematography.
