Puttaparthi: Collector T.S. Chetan emphasized that industrial development is key to achieving economic growth in the district. He made these remarks while presiding over the District Industries and Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) meeting held at the PGRS Conference Hall in the Collectorate on Wednesday. During the meeting, the Collector first reviewed the functioning of the District Industries Department. He stressed the need to strengthen the industrial sector and enhance coordination among all related departments to boost the district's economic development. He directed that all pending applications under the Single Desk Portal must be resolved promptly.
The review revealed that 21 applications are currently pending in the Single Desk Portal. These include 1 with APIIC, 18 forwarded to APPCB, 1 with the Department of Factories, and 1 with the Fire Services Department. Additionally, 20 MSME claims related to industrial incentives are still awaiting approval. The Collector instructed officials to ensure speedy resolution of all pending applications. Highlighting the importance of promoting the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, the Collector called for extensive awareness campaigns at the urban level and encouraged prompt collection of applications from eligible beneficiaries.
He directed nodal officers in village and ward secretariats to take special initiatives for the implementation of this scheme. The meeting was attended by District Industries General Manager Nagaraju, APIIC Zonal Manager Sony Sahani, DPO Samanta, LDM Ramana Kumar, Handlooms Department Officer K. Krishnamurthy, District Fire Officer Hemant Reddy, DICCI representative Venkataramana, and other officials.

Nandyal: District Collector G Raja Kumari on Friday directed officials to promptly grant approvals for applications submitted through the Single Desk Portal, in order to promote aspiring industrialists in the district. Presiding over the District Industrial and Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) meeting held at the Collectorate's video conference hall, the Collector emphasized the importance of facilitating the establishment of industries in the district. The meeting was attended by District Industries Centre (DIC) General Manager Javahar Babu, Lead District Manager Ravinder Kumar, SC/ST Chamber of Commerce President Rajamahendranath, and other concerned department officials. During the meeting, the Collector stated that 65 industrial proposals were received over the last quarter under the Single Desk system. Out of these, approvals have already been granted for 53 units by the respective departments. She instructed the officials from the Environment and Factories Departments to resolve the remaining 12 applications within the stipulated timeframe. Highlighting the government's commitment to supporting entrepreneurs, the Collector announced that under various industrial incentive schemes such as investment subsidy, interest subsidy, electricity concessions, and sales tax benefits, a total of Rs.31.85 lakhs has been sanctioned to 16 production and service-based units in the district. She further called for enhanced awareness among youth in both urban and rural areas regarding industrial investments and the establishment of new units, underscoring the crucial role of grassroots-level entrepreneurship in economic development. Among those present at the meeting were Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories Narayana Reddy, Pollution Control Board Executive Engineer Kishore Reddy, Transport Department Officer Aishwarya Reddy, and representatives from various departments and industrial associations.

MUMBAI: Finance ministry has asked states to take urgent steps to protect bank employees from instances of assault and intimidation by anti-social elements, following reports of such incidents disrupting banking operations. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In a letter to chief secretaries, financial services secretary M Nagaraju said that ensuring the uninterrupted availability of banking services is critical for enabling households to meet daily financial needs, access welfare benefits through DBT, and support economic activity by traders, small businesses, farmers and industry. Citing media reports and social media posts, Nagaraju flagged disturbing incidents involving verbal abuse, physical assault and operational disruptions at bank branches. "These unlawful actions discourage the morale of bank staff and undermine public trust in the safe delivery of banking services. Such actions must be dealt with firmly and promptly," he said. The ministry has requested state govts to direct district magistrates and police officials to take preventive steps, including deploying police or patrols at sensitive locations during peak banking hours.

MP: Neemuch youth becoming self-reliant with PM Vishwakarma Yojana

Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): Scores of residents in this town of Madhya Pradesh are becoming self-reliant, taking advantage of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Not only urban youth but also those from rural areas are getting direct benefits from the scheme. Hundreds of youth have received a loan of Rs 1 lakh and also training. The scheme was launched for training the traditional artisans and craftsmen with modern skills and also to make them financially strong. Under this scheme, the youth are provided training for the first seven days and also provided an honorarium of Rs 500 per day. On completion of the training, a toolkit of Rs 15,000 is also given. A loan of up to Rs 1 lakh is given by the banks so that the beneficiary can expand their business. In Neemuch, a total of 34,052 applications were received, out of which 5,119 applications were approved at the state level. Loans were sanctioned to 1,296 beneficiaries through banks, the total amount of which is Rs 10.80 crore. Today, many of those benefiting from this scheme are thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Samarth Sen, a salon owner of Palsoda village, said, "I had applied under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. We got a loan of Rs 1 lakh from the bank, and we bought salon equipment with that money. This scheme should continue in the future as well, so that more youths can benefit from it. Many thanks to PM Modi for this scheme." Prakash Chandra Suthar, a resident of Dhaneria Kala village, said, "I work in the furniture business. I have also taken advantage of this scheme. I was also trained in this, and through this training, I have also been sanctioned a loan. This is helping me a lot in increasing my employment." Salon operator Rajesh Sen, a resident of Palsoda, said that earlier he used to run a small shop, but then expanded the shop by taking advantage of the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojana. 'I also received Rs 4,000 during the training. After this, I received a loan of one lakh rupees. Through training, I was taught how to do parlour work, cutting and shaving in a modern way. Today, my family and I are happy,' he said. He said that Prime Minister Modi has made us self-reliant. Notably, the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana was launched on December 17, 2023, on the Vishwakarma Jayanti. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance and skill development training to thousands of people engaged in jobs like carpenter, blacksmith, goldsmith, potter, tailor, barber, cobbler, sculptor, toy maker, etc.
