Country music superstars perform chart-topping duet at Boston Calling

Yahooa day ago

The first night of Boston Calling ended with two country music stars sharing the stage for an electrifying duet.
Luke Combs brought out Megan Moroney to perform Combs' 2019 smash hit 'Beer Never Broke My Heart.'
The song, which was the lead single from Combs' sophomore album 'What You See Is What You Get,' topped Billboard's Country Airplay chart, becoming Combs' sixth consecutive No. 1 on the chart. 'Beer Never Broke My Heart' has been certified six-times platinum by the RIAA as of August 23, 2023.
The performance marked a full-circle moment for Moroney as the self-proclaimed 'Emo Cowgirl' appeared as an unpaid extra in the song's music video back in 2019, Combs told the crowd.
Continuous rain would not stop Megan Moroney fans from enjoying her performance on Friday, May 23, 2025 during Boston Calling at the Harvard Athletic Complex.

Moroney also told fans about it during a VIP pre-show at a May 15 concert at the Amory in Minneapolis, Country Chord reported. The 'Am I Okay?' said her best friend drove her to Nashville so she could appear in Combs' video.
'If you literally look at the Spotify canvas, I even made it into the 8 seconds,' Moroney told fans. 'I was supposed to be the drunk girl at the bar, so I was holding up a fake beer.'
The 'Tennessee Orange' singer can be seen around the 2:20 mark of the video. Moroney shows up a few more times as well.
Combs' closed out night one of Boston Calling on Friday, May 23. Fall Out Boy will headline Saturday night while Dave Matthews Band will close out the festival on Sunday night.

Eminem Joins Kendrick Lamar With Multiple Top 10 Bestsellers

Eminem's 'Shake That' returns to the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart, joining 'Lose Yourself' ... More as the rapper doubles up on the tally. UNSPECIFIED - JANUARY 01: Photo of EMINEM (Photo by Sal Idriss/Redferns) Eminem stands out from so many other rappers thanks to his ability to continuously sell music from his catalog, and not just see it perform well on streaming platforms. He demonstrates that ability again this week, as one of his singles returns to a Billboard list focused solely on pure purchases, and it joins one of his all-time classics in doing so. The rapper matches one of the most exciting superstars in his chosen field today as he doubles up on the tally. "Shake That," Eminem's collaboration with Nate Dogg, returns to the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart this week. The cut barely manages to reenter the ranking of the bestselling tunes that can be classified as R&B, rap, or hip-hop in the U.S., landing in last place. "Shake That" joins "Lose Yourself," which lifts one space to No. 7. As "Shake That" returns, Eminem joins Kendrick Lamar as the only two musicians to occupy more than one space on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales list. Lamar claims twice as many current wins as Eminem, with four current smashes. Lamar also manages to rank higher than Eminem this period – though both of the latter musician's current bestsellers are much, much older than Lamar's. His tunes "Luther" with SZA, "Not Like Us," and "Put TV Off" with Lefty Gunplay and 'Squabble Up' appear at Nos. 4, 6, 9, and 11, respectively. A number of other hip-hop powerhouses manage to remain on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart as well, but at the moment, none fill more than a single space. "Anxiety" by Doechii leads for its fourth frame, which represents the entirety of its time on the roster. Drake's former No. 1 "Nokia" dips to third place, landing just ahead of Lamar's highest-rising success. Several other well-known figures like The Weeknd, Playboi Carti, and Pharrell Williams also take up space with former champions. "Shake That" was released decades ago, but has recently surged in popularity after going viral. The tune peaked at No. 8 earlier this month and is one of Eminem's 69 top 10 hits on the tally. "Lose Yourself," which has now spent 468 frames somewhere on this roster, has somehow only ever peaked at No. 2.

Diddy's prison duds are up for sale — but not from his ongoing trial

Life imitates art. The prison costume that Sean 'Diddy' Combs donned on screen in 'Monster's Ball' more than two decades before he was locked up for a horrifying string of alleged sex and abuse crimes is up for auction. Bidding on GWS Auctions will open next week for the rapper's iconic ensemble from the star-studded 2001 romantic-thriller drama. 3 Sean 'Diddy' Combs played a convicted murderer in the 2001 film 'Monster's Ball.' ©Lions Gate/Courtesy Everett Collection Advertisement In the film, Combs, 55, played a murderer — 11 years before he allegedly broke into rapper Kid Cudi's home in a real-life plot to kill his love rival. 'The costume is worn by Sean Combs during the beginning to middle of the film while in prison and meeting with his son and wife 'Leticia' (portrayed by Halle Berry) to say goodbye before being executed,' the auction house wrote. The outfit includes a short-sleeved white Hanes crew neck T-shirt, a light grey crew neck sweatshirt with cut-off sleeves, a pair of Faded Glory blue jeans — with one pant leg sliced off — and a pair of black canvas slip-on shoes. Advertisement It also comes with a production costumer's tag with insider details on the costumer and movie scene in which it appears. 3 The costume will be up for bidding next week. GSW Auctions The duds are a far cry from the orange monochrome jumpsuit Combs is mandated to wear while he sits at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Combs' trial has been ongoing for more than three weeks, with the judge expecting it to last as long as eight. Advertisement On Friday, the rapper's former live-in assistant remained strong as she was laboriously grilled in Manhattan court over her explosive accusations that the disgraced music mogul repeatedly sexually assaulted her. 3 The film came out more than two decades before Combs was arrested in Manhattan. ©Lions Gate/Courtesy Everett Collection 'Mia' – who testified anonymously as an alleged victim of sexual abuse – also claimed that her ex-boss threatened to throw her off a yacht because she took too long counting $100,000 in cash. She is just one of Combs' many alleged victims over his decades as an A-list celebrity, the most notorious being his ex-girlfriend and alleged hostage, Cassie Ventura. Advertisement Combs allegedly sexually and physically abused Ventura and refused to free her from his toxic grasp — going so far as to plot to kill rapper Kid Cudi when he heard Ventura had moved on with him, prosecutors allege. Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which carry up to life in prison, if convicted.

Morgan Wallen Matches Taylor Swift's Historic Chart Feat

Morgan Wallen is the king of the Hot 100 this week. No matter how one looks at the numbers, the country superstar dominates the ranking of the most popular songs in the United States, with dozens of tracks taken from his new No. 1 album, I'm the Problem. As his deluge of music arrives, the singer-songwriter matches a feat only one other artist in American history has accomplished. Wallen fills 37 spots on the Hot 100 this frame. That's a new all-time record for the most real estate ever claimed by a single artist on the list at one time. He bests his own previously-set mark of 36 wins on the Hot 100, which he managed during one frame in March 2023. Wallen is now only the second musical act in the history of the Billboard charts to claim 30 wins on the Hot 100 simultaneously on more than one occasion. He joins Taylor Swift in this incredible feat. Swift filled 30-plus positions on the Hot 100 in back-to-back weeks just a year ago. When her new album The Tortured Poets Department arrived, she claimed 32 slots on the tally. During the following frame dated May 11, 2024, just one cut dropped off the list. Only one other artist has scored 30 or more Hot 100 hits at one time — and amazingly, he did so just a few months ago. Playboi Carti landed 31 simultaneous smashes in late March, thanks to the massive debut of his album Music. In addition to conquering the Hot 100 by breaking the all-time record for the greatest number of hits at one time, Wallen also leads the charge again. He and Tate McRae debut their collaboration "What I Want" — the latest single from I'm the Problem — at No. 1. The country superstar also fills the next two highest slots, as "Just in Case" and "I'm the Problem" rise to Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, with the former hitting a new peak. Wallen scores half a dozen top 10s this week, which is also a first for him and an incredibly rare showing for any musician.
