Nebraska softball head coach Rhonda Revelle signs contract extension
Rovelle is entering her 34th year as the head softball coach at her alma mater. She holds a career record of 1,178 wins to 696 losses. Athletic director Troy Dannen expressed his excitement over the extension.
"We are proud at Nebraska that we just finished our most successful all-sports athletic season in 15 years," Dannen said. "That is not possible without great leadership. We are blessed with outstanding head coaches who not only win at a high level, but who also value the experience their student-athletes have during their time at Nebraska. When you have coaches with that type of character, you keep them, and we are proud that Rhonda, Justin, Paul, and Chuck will all be Huskers well into the future."
In her 30+ years at Nebraska, Rovelle has also won three Big 12 Conference Tournaments (1998, 2000, 2004) and one Big Ten Tournament (2022). She also has three Coach of the Year awards.

INDIANAPOLIS — Bubba Wallace claimed his first NASCAR Cup Series win at the Brickyard 400 on Sunday, the third victory of his career, and even after taking the lead on Lap 143 had his own doubts. McLaughlin had finished, key word of late as he poked fun at recapping his own race, 10th at the IndyCar race at Laguna Seca, which was won by Alex Palou before the Brickyard 400 wrapped up despite a later start time. "This guy is the best dad," McLaughlin wrote on Twitter. "Has been going through it with the racing gods. Always one of the first people to text me if we have a bad day. So happy for Bdub, a great dude and I hope the haters enjoyed that." McLaughlin's 10th-place finish ended a drought of consecutive races with DNFs. He crashed on Lap 1 of Iowa Race 2 and again on Lap 3 at Toronto, finishing 26th in both races. McLaughlin sits tied for 11th with Rinus VeeKay (259 points) in the championship standings in what's become a Palou runaway (590) with a slim margin for Pato O'Ward (469) to catch him.

Michigan State currently holds one commitment in its 2026 class in point guard Carlos Medlock Jr. So we should keep an eye on the Spartans potentially further pursuing Felesi as a small forward prospect. Pair of MSU hockey stars shine in World Junior Summer Showcase victory
A pair of Spartans played vital roles for Team USA in Sunday's World Junior Summer Showcase against Finland. Future Spartans forward Ryker Lee scored a pair of goals and sophomore forward Shane Vansaghi netted the game-winner to help Team USA White top Finland, 5-2, in a World Junior Summer Showcase game from Minneapolis on Sunday. Team USA White once trailed 2-1 in the game but bounced back in the second half of the game to earn the victory. Lee and Vansaghi are both expected to play key roles on the Spartans next season. Michigan State boasts a number of NHL talent on its 2025-26 roster, including both Lee and Vansaghi, and is considered a top five preseason team in the country entering next year.
