Jungkook, singer and member of the popular South Korean band BTS, has finally marked his return to Instagram after a long hiatus of 2 years. He introduced his secret profile, named mnijungkook, during a livestream with his band members V and RM. Now, within a week of his big revelation, Jungkook has been given the verification badge from the Meta-owned platform.
Reportedly, the singer created his account in January of this year, but only shared it with his fans while performing a live session with his fellow BTS teammates. From unveiling it on July 15 to being authenticated on July 22, the musician has already accomplished significant milestones. He only follows six other BTS members and his team's page from his account.
New Instagram Followers
The singer-composer deleted his previous account with a whopping 50 million followers. However, after finally revealing his new page, JK managed to grab 6.5 million followers on the new account in just one day. He currently has 9.2 million followers on Instagram with just 1 post, a picture of his official 'JK' trademark.
Notably, JK is also known to be maintaining another account with the username 'bowwow_bam' with 7.7 million followers and co-managed by his brother.
Prior to his military enlistment, the singer cited a lack of usage as the reason for his account deletion, but it looks like he intends to resume live streams and Ask Me Anything sessions with his fans after completing his mandatory national duty.
BTS Upcoming Projects
All members of BTS have now completed their mandatory military service, with the last, Suga, leaving on June 21, 2025. As a result, the group has publicly announced plans to return.
Earlier, it was announced that BTS would return in spring 2026 with a new album and an international tour. The statement was made during a surprise 30-minute broadcast on Weverse that brought all seven members – Jungkook, V, Jimin, Suga, Jin, J-Hope and RM – together for the first time since September 2022.
