Kaizer Chiefs most improved player wanted in Europe?

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has been one of the few players who impressed during the pre-season.
Having struggled for gametime last season, 'Mshini' has earned himself a place in the team during the team's pre-season tour in the Netherlands. According to Soccer Laduma, Ngcobo has attracted interest from European teams, prompting Chiefs to consider extending his deal.
'Last year it was not clear whether he was going to stay or not but this season it's believed that things have changed and the club is willing to keep him because the technical team wants him to be part of the squad which will play an important part this season. And now it's believed management has already exercised his one-year option on his contract so that they keep him until June 2027,' an insider told Soccer Laduma .
Ngcobo's contract with Kaizer Chiefs runs until 2026 but if the club don't exercise the option to extend his deal, he could leave for free next season.
'The club is aware that if they don't exercise his option as soon as possible then they could lose him for free or at least close to nothing because his contract was coming to an end in June 2026. So with the exercising of the one-year option it gives the club the chance to negotiate a better price if the move was to happen,' the second insider told the same publication.
Kaizer Chiefs kick off their 2025/26 season against Stellenbosch FC this coming weekend.

Kaizer Chiefs legend wants Sundowns right-back at Naturena

Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Patrick Mabedi has urged Amakhosi to sign Khuliso Mudau from Mamelodi Sundowns. The lanky defender has not penned a new deal with Masandawana, which could open a door for other PSL clubs. Mudau is highly regarded as one of the best right-backs in Africa, having played in the CAF Champions League final and Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals. Mabedi feels Kaizer Chiefs would benefit if they could sign the Bafana Bafana star. The former Malawi international coached Mudau when he coached at Black Leopards seven years ago. 'He is a very good player. If Chiefs sign him they could have found a missing link in not only their defence but the whole team. You know when I coached him at Black Leopards we used to use him either as a right back, right winger or even a central midfielder. That's how good he is. So, this could be the biggest move for Chiefs in recent times. Personally, I would encourage them to go for him,' Mabedi told Soccer Laduma . The Amakhosi legend says Mudau is a player who could help Chiefs build from the back as he is good playing with the ball at his feet. 'You know he comes from Sundowns who like playing the ball around. He is good in that and Chiefs need such a player who can help them build from the back and link up with their attackers. This could really be a good move for Chiefs (if they attempt to sign him),' the former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach stated. Mudau has attracted offers from North Africa so a move to Chiefs is very unlikely at this stage, given the player is in his prime. Stellenbosch's young guns hungry to turn the tables on Kaizer Chiefs, says Barker

Langelihle Phili of Stellenbosch FC | BackpagePix Image: BackpagePix Stellenbosch FC's MTN8 quarter-final hero Langelihle Phili may have to wait a little longer before he cracks a place in the starting line-up, according to coach Steve Barker. Phili is one of the most promising young attackers in the country, having played a considerable role in helping the SA U20 team to the Afcon title earlier this year. The 20-year-old showed his prowess in front of goal again last Sunday by coming off the bench to net the match-winning goal in extra-time to see off AmaZulu at the DHL Stadium. The youngster would no doubt have wanted to continue the momentum in the much-anticipated Betway Premiership opener against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday (kick-off 5.30pm). 'Everybody is knocking on the door,' Barker said, at the Premiership launch in Sandton on Tuesday. 'That's the nice part, especially young players. They are hungry to play, hungry to start. But he plays in the same position as Sanele Barns, who scored two goals on Sunday, so it doesn't make it easy.' Barker was, though, looking forward to Phili building on his positive start to the new season. 'It's nice when a player comes on and wins the game for you. Langelihle is a very exciting player. I am looking forward to him having a breakthrough season. 'I think scoring in the first game of the season will give him the real confidence and belief that he can reach the potential that he has.' Barker's attention is fully focused on turning the tables on Chiefs in the season opener after the Amakhosi held the upper hand over their Western Cape rivals last season. Kaizer Chiefs' coach Nasreddine Nabi aims for consistency in new season

KAIZER Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi will sound like a melody to the Amakhosi faithful as he publicly announced he is done with the building process ahead of the 2025/2026 season. | BackpagePix Kaizer Chiefs' coach Nasreddine Nabi has admitted the days of preaching the gospel of 'the process' are over, which is why they need to be consistent this season. Chiefs had an average outing last season as they won the Nedbank Cup, but missed out on Carling Knockout and finished ninth in the Betway Premiership. As such, there were some calls for the club to let go of Nabi after he didn't meet the high expectations of waking up the sleeping giant. Amakhosi stuck with him, though, intensifying his preparations for the new season with a training camp in the Netherlands and bolstering his squad with new signings. The new players include Siphesihle Ndolovu, Ethan Chislett, Flavio Silva, Nkanyiso Shinga, Thabiso Monyane, and Paseka Mako. So, given the investments that have been made by the club into the team and expectations from the fans, Nabi has highlighted what they need to do to improve this season. 'Our main target and priority is to put Kaizer Chiefs where it belongs,' said Nabi, who was speaking on the sidelines of the Betway Premiership in Sandton on Tuesday. 'I have noticed that the people don't like to hear about the process. But last season, even though it was our first year together, we managed to win one of the two cup competitions. 'This season we are going to take it game by game, and try to be as consistent as we can possibly be. We'll see where we finish at the end of the season.'
