Glen Powell's Ex Gigi Paris Details What Led to Breakup

Glen Powell's ex is not leaving her side of the story unwritten.
Nearly two years after the Top Gun: Maverick actor and Sydney Sweeney's infamous will-they-won't-they flirtationship amid filming their romantic comedy Anyone But You, Gigi Paris—who was dating Glen at the time—shared the moment she realized things were not going to work out for them.
'I got a phone call from him right about when I was going to go to Australia to work,' the model said on the Too Much podcast June 10. 'I had my visa, which took me much longer than I anticipated—meanwhile all this s--t was coming out on the internet.'
And while Gigi, who didn't reference her ex or Sydney by name during the interview, felt relieved she was finally going to Australia where he was filming the rom-com, Glen felt differently. As she noted of one of their last phone calls, 'He called and said, 'The producers and I have discussed and I think it's best if you don't come to visit.''

Still, Gigi packed her bags anyway.
'I flew across the world to look at him in the face and say, 'I can't do this anymore,'' the 32-year-old said of ending the three-year romance, 'which was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.'
Amid the dating rumors that circulated Glen, 36, and his 27-year-old costar—who was engaged to now ex Jonathan Davino at the time—Gigi admitted she felt like she was 'fed to the dogs.'
'I just wanted respect,' she continued. 'Especially if it's gonna be public like, don't make an ass out of me. Don't make a fool out of someone you've been with over three years, talking about forever with. Have some decency. At the end of the day, it was like, 'Well work comes first.' Power to you, that's your priority. I've got to walk away.'
Gigi assured, though, that her April 2023 breakup with Glen was not to gain any fame for herself out of the situation.
'It wasn't make-believe and it got to the point where it seemed as though make-believe was more important than the real thing,' she explained. 'It wasn't a way to monetize the breakup, it wasn't a way to twist the story around. I was shattered.'
E! News has reached out to Sydney and Glen about Gigi's comments but has not heard back.
For his part, while Glen and Sydney admitted to amping up their chemistry for press, the Hit Man star said it was difficult to balance with a breakup.
"The only reason it made things harder for me to lean into that stuff was that I was going through a very real breakup amidst a promotional tour,' he told Business Insider in December 2023. 'I was with someone that I really loved and cared about and was trying to kind of make sense of a lot of stuff.'

You'd expect the new " How to Train Your Dragon" live action remake to share some similarities with the original 2010 animation — but some fans and critics are not happy that they're almost identical shot-for-shot. Dean DeBlois, who co-directed the original and directed the live-action movie that is out Friday, told Business Insider that Universal Studios was clear from the beginning that it wanted the remake to tell the same story. Universal Studios jumped on the trend after Disney made over $8 billion from live-action remakes of its animations, according to data from Box Office Mojo. "How to Train Your Dragon" is arguably an unsurprising choice as one of the most successful animated movie franchises by Universal's animation branch, DreamWorks. All three movies were nominated for Oscars, and grossed $1.6 billion in total. DeBlois said Universal told him of the remake: "'We want that story but bring to it every embellishment you can. Let's go deeper into the mythology. "Let's deepen the characters, let's make it feel a little more mature. Let's lean into the action and make it more visceral and immersive." Universal didn't respond to a request for comment from Business Insider. DeBlois said he agreed to make what would be his first live-action movie because he didn't want someone else adapting his work. "If you're going to do it, I want to do it because I know where the heart is, and I know these characters, I know this world," he recalled telling Universal. Although he's not a fan of live action remakes of animated movies, DeBlois said, he wanted to "be in charge of this one so I can preserve its integrity and pay tribute to the fans." He added: "The intention was always 'let's do another version of it, but not the version that would replace the animated movie.'" Meanwhile, Disney has been criticized for making too many changes in their live-action remakes of " Snow White" and " Lilo & Stitch." DeBlois acknowledged there was no way to make all fans happy, regardless of the extent of the changes. "This version, I feel, keeps the best of what was there and adds to it in good and subtle, and significant ways," Deblois said.

Clarkson's Farm star Kaleb Cooper shares health update from A&E after suffering 'painful' injury
Clarkson's Farm star Kaleb Cooper has revealed he suffered a painful foot injury following a game of football earlier this week. The 26-year-old shared an update from A&E on Wednesday, confirming he had fractured his foot after taking a tumble on Tuesday evening. Posting to Instagram, Cooper showed followers a video of his visibly swollen ankle as he hobbled around the farm, grimacing in pain. He said: 'I just got back from football and I'm trying to shut the chickens up and look at that ankle, ahh pain, the pain, the pain!' The following morning, the 26-year-old posted an update from hospital as he prepared for an x-ray. Hours later, he confirmed the ankle was fractured and showed off a medical boot fitted to stabilise the injury. 'Not good,' he wrote, before adding in a separate video that he was now 'hobbling around'. Despite the break, Cooper insisted he will still attend this weekend's Three Counties Show, where he's due to appear on Sunday. He said: 'I may be hobbling around as I have fractured my ankle but I will still be at the Three Counties Show on Sunday. 'I've got my Kaleb Cooper contracting stand there, Hawkstone cider, as well as I'll be doing talks through out the day on the Sunday, so do pop along to say hello. 'I am looking forward to this one even though I maybe hobbling around I will be there.' The news comes after viewers criticised Cooper for being frosty towards with temporary farmhand Harriet Cowan on the latest series of Clarkson's Farm. Cowan was brought in to cover Cooper's absence while he embarked on a live stage tour. But when he returned, viewers were quick to pick up on his standoffish behaviour — with one tense scene showing Cooper silently inspecting Cowan's work before making a pointed remark about fertiliser. The interaction sparked backlash, with some fans labelling Cooper 'rude' and 'childish', and even suggesting he should be dropped from the show. Others criticised him for being unwelcoming to a newcomer doing her job. Jeremy Clarkson himself appeared to call out the behaviour during filming, joking that Cooper had contracted 'c*** flu' after spending too long being pampered on tour and needed to re-acclimate to farm life. However, Cooper and Cowan have since found friendlier footing, with later episodes showing them getting on.

The parenting lesson that Bruce Springsteen says he learned too late
Bruce Springsteen says it took him time to learn the importance of being present with his kids. During an interview on Wednesday's episode of the "IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson" podcast, the musician spoke about balancing his career with fatherhood. Springsteen has been married to Patti Scialfa since 1991, and they have three children: Evan, 34; Jessica, 33; and Sam, 31. He credits his wife for teaching him one of the most important parenting lessons. "And one of the things that Patty taught me was, she says, 'Listen, you can't just be here. You've got to be present,'" Springsteen told Michelle Obama. The musician said that he used to prioritize his work over spending time with his kids. "I used to think, 'Well, wait a minute, I got a song to write.' I'm thinking these great thoughts. Come on, you're going to get in the way of my great thoughts, you know?" he said. But over time, his perspective shifted because he realized that his children were growing up quickly. "And I learned that if you've got a good song, it's going to be there tomorrow," he said. "But the kids, they're going to be gone." Childhood is brief, and the time they have to make memories as a family will pass quickly. Even if he remains close to his kids, they have their own lives to lead once they get older, he added. Springsteen recalled a conversation with his eldest son that made him realize his son had picked up on his own habits of being unavailable. "Like if I asked him to do something, I had signaled him that I wanted him to say no. If I asked you to do something, it's always 'Maybe later, Dad.' I think I taught him to do that," Springsteen said. After that incident, he decided to prioritize time with his kids over his work. "You know, so I realized that parenting is pennies in the bank. It's that time when you were working and you didn't want to stop, but you did," Springsteen said. "That made a huge difference to me because I always felt if I had failed with my kids, I would have failed tremendously in life." Springsteen isn't the only celebrity who has spoken about the difficulties they faced in balancing their personal and professional lives. In January, Cameron Diaz, who took a decadelong hiatus from Hollywood, said she spent those 10 years " trying to stay alive just like every other mother." In May, Michelle Williams said on the "Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard" podcast that balancing her career and motherhood is like figuring out "which master you're going to serve." A representative for Springsteen did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent by Business Insider outside regular hours.
