The Scots singing sensation summed up his Glastonbury performance to host Jimmy Fallon in three words.
Lewis Capaldi was spotted wearing a Celtic top while arriving for his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in New York - where he summed up his Glastonbury performance in three very revealing words.

The Scots singing sensation is Stateside to promote his new single 'Survive' which raced to the top of the charts after a two year hiatus from the music scene. The song garnered over four million streams in its debut week.

The Glaswegian stepped back from the limelight after a panic attack triggered by his Tourettes Syndrome at Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage in 2023 forced him to prioritise his wellbeing.

But arriving to NBC Studios in Midtown Manhattan on Monday, July 14, Capaldi looked the pictured of health as he donned his beloved side's jersey paired with black Nike shorts and Adidas trainers. The hitmaker looked relaxed as he made his way into the building lobby before going on to perform his latest tune to millions of US viewers.
Despite joking the single was "currently underperforming in America," the star opened up about happy times - his secret return to Glastonbury.
Firstly reflecting on his meltdown on stage in 2023, Lewis said: "The first time did not go well. I had what the children would refer to as a bit of a menty B. A bit of a mental breakdown on stage. Nothing too serious.
"I have Tourettes so I used to tic quite a lot and I still do but I used to do this thing with my shoulder and it became really uncontrollable and I had a panic attack on stage at Glastonbury and I couldn't finish the song.
"It happened a couple of times at shows and stuff but I think because this one was so publicised and had so many eyes on it, it really made me think I need to go and get this sorted, I can't keep doing this to myself."

However, his return to the Pyramid Stage on June 27 saw Capaldi back with a bang.
Speaking about how he felt in the run up to it, Lewis said: "It was terrifying. In the lead up to it I was like this is horrific, I've made a terrible decision and then we did it and it was really beautiful and lovely.
"It went exactly as I hoped and it was probably the best day of my life - until I assume when I have a child I'll be like maybe, Glastonbury was still better."

Last week, Lewis announced a UK tour last week which sold out in just minutes.
The Someone You Loved chanter will play four dates in Scotland this coming September, with two nights at Aberdeen's P&J Live on September 10 and 11, and two nights at Glasgow's OVO Hydro on September 13 and 14.

Lewis told the audience on The Tonight show: "You can try and get tickets but they're sold out baby so fat chance."
Americans couldn't get enough of the talent's return to the small screen on the other side of the Atlantic.

Taking to the YouTube comments, one music fan wrote: "Such a beautiful soul…he gives us all he has and never disappoints! I wish Jimmy had asked him where else he can be seen on TV in USA! I just want him to stay healthy and not overworked! I love his charming accent!!!!"
Another scribed: "Lewis is an amazing person. I hoped he is very loved in his personal life."
A third penned: "Authentically Scottish, no BS. Love him," while a fourth added: "I appreciate Jimmy Fallon having Lewis Capaldi on his show. It's great to hear how Lewis has been doing. Fantastic to hear he had a triumphant return at Glastonbury."

Scots TV icon Glen Michael laid to rest with fitting final farewell

'That's All Folks': Scots TV legend Glen Michael was given a heartwarming final send-off on Tuesday, July 15. Scots TV legend Glen Michael was given a final farewell by family, fans and friends as he was laid to rest yesterday. ‌ The Cartoon Cavalcade host passed away at his Ayrshire cottage last week following a short illness. He was 99. ‌ Glen was given a send off at Ayr's Masonhill Crematorium. ‌ And mourners were left smiling after the Cavalcade theme tune was played his final committal music - before cartoon character Porky Pig raised a laugh with his famous catchphrase 'That's All Folks'. Glen's son Chris Buckland, 66, and daughter Yonnie, 74, were among the mourners - and both paid glowing tributes to their dad. Born Cecil Edward Buckland on May 16, 1926 in Paignton, Devon, Glen came to Scotland in 1952 to try his hand as a stand-up comedian, and stayed here for the rest of his life. In 1966 he launched Cartoon Cavalcade on STV, featuring favourites including Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry which ran until 1992. ‌ It became essential Sunday tea time viewing for generations of Scots with Glen accompanied by his companions including Paladin the talking lamp, Totty the Robot and dachshunds Rudi and Rusti. He later took Cartoon Cavalcade on the road, performing live shows at schools across Scotland. One of Glen's proudest achievement was winning a BAFTA award for the Best Children's Programme in 1975. Chu, who also directed Wicked, so it's not hard to see how she got the part. She will star alongside Josh Gad, who is best known for voicing Olaf in Frozen, so she's in good company. Ariana will be back in cinemas in November for sequel Wicked: For Good. SZA hits back at Minaj NICKI Minaj has rowed with Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion and Taylor Swift, to name just a few. And she's now decided to come for R&B singer SZA. 4 SZA, above, is in a row with Nicki Minaj Credit: Getty 4 Nicki has beefed with many pop stars Credit: Getty Late on Tuesday night, Nicki started by accusing rapper Punch – who is signed to the same label as SZA – of 'bullying me on Twitter for no reason'. In a cryptic message, SZA tweeted: 'Mercury retrograde . . . don't take the bait lol. Silly goose.' But that was like a red rag to Nicki who posted a series of disses about the former Glastonbury headliner's appearance, before saying she sounds like a 'fkng dead dog'. Then she questioned SZA's achievements including the recent news that her 2022 album SOS had gone nine-times platinum in less than three years. 'Justice for SZA' say Glastonbury fans as headliner is hit by more sound issues She wrote on X: 'Does Sza think she's more successful than me? Sza, if every song you've ever done vanished right now the music business wouldn't even miss you.' But SZA insisted she wouldn't be getting involved. She wrote: 'I'm the most successful I ever been. GET SOME F***ING PERSPECTIVE n BARK AT THE WALL.' Hear hear. Busy Katy smugs off Orlando HER former partner Orlando Bloom might have been branded the 'worst boyfriend ever' after he was seen gallivanting around the world with a massive grin on his face. But Katy Perry isn't letting the pain of their heartbreak, or Orlando's smug mug, get in the way of her world tour. 4 Katy Perry isn't letting Orlando Bloom get in the way of her world tour Credit: Getty The Piece Of Me singer wore this futuristic outfit as she made her homecoming at the Kia Forum in California on her Lifetimes tour. The mammoth run of shows will see her playing a gig in San Francisco tomorrow before polishing off 19 more concerts in the US before she heads to South America. Just one look at Katie's jam-packed schedule, which gives her barely more than a few days off at a time, is enough to make us mere mortals quake. But given what's happening in her personal life, being busy, maybe for the best.

Hit musical about Celtic FC is coming back to Glasgow

'My dad saw this show at the Armadillo and loved it,' says the Castlemilk-born actor. 'He sadly died in May, so when I saw the auditions come up, I thought I'd try for a part and do it in his memory. I'm doing it for him.' Stephen is starring in Celtic The Musical, a reimagined version of the hit show which has been delighting audiences in Glasgow and on tour for almost a decade. The new cast of Celtic The Musical (Image: Gordon Terris/Newsquest) It is coming to the Pavilion in September, and the Glasgow Times was given exclusive access to the new cast as they met for the first time at Celtic Park in the East End. Celtic The Musical follows the life and times of the Quinn family, as they support their beloved club through the generations, from its founding by Brother Walfrid in 1888 through the heady days of Jock Stein and the Lisbon Lions, to Brendan Rodgers' present-day squad. Songs include fan favourites Hail Hail, Over and Over and the spine-tingling You'll Never Walk Alone. Stephen, who is known for his work on a string of TV series and films including Rise of the Footsoldier: Vengeance, Vigil and Mayflies, is making his Celtic The Musical debut. 'It's exciting – hopefully we're bringing something new and fresh to the show, a different dynamic,' he says. Julie Duncanson and Stephen McCole (Image: Gordon Terris/Newsquest) 'It's a show really about how this club has been an anchor for families to share experiences, to cry together a bit, to support each other.' He grins: 'And I'm sure if my dad is watching somewhere, he'll be laughing his a**e off at me. If the lights start to go a bit funny in the middle of it, I'll know he's there …' (Image: Gordon Terris/Newsquest) Elysia Welch is also new to the production. The Southside-based actor, who plays Rosie, is delighted to be joining the show. 'I'm a Celtic fan, so I'm really excited,' she says, smiling. 'Rosie is sassy, she knows a lot about Celtic and she and her brother are constantly back and forth at each other, so it's a bit like me and my siblings. 'I can't wait.' Former River City star Julie Duncanson is reprising her role as Quinn family matriarch Mary. 'The audience makes the show – they bring all their love and enthusiasm and it's great to be part of that,' says Julie, who is from North Glasgow. (Image: Gordon Terris/Newsquest) Gary: Tank Commander star James Rottger is also returning to the production. 'This will make it four-in-row,' he says, wryly. 'Just like Celtic has just done. I feel like my character, Tommy, has aged with me along the way. 'It's a great show, always changing and staying fresh.' (Image: Gordon Terris/Newsquest) Keith Warwick, who is a veteran of the production, having performed in it twice at the Pavilion, and at the Armadillo and on tour, agrees the show 'has to evolve' with each run. 'You want to keep it up to date and fresh, because the story of Celtic keeps going,' says the Govan-born actor. 'The main theme though does not change – it's about family, it's about refugees being made welcome in Glasgow because that's the roots of this club, and it's about the highs and lows of life.' Keith, who is well-known for a string of TV and stage roles including My Parents Are Aliens and The Bill, is a dyed-in-the-wool Celtic fan, so he is delighted to be talking about this in the home of his favourite club. He is also well aware of how much the story means to the fans. 'If I can just name-drop for a moment,' he says, mock-apologetically, 'Brendan Rodgers spoke to me at the last run and asked me if I got nervous waiting in the wings, because the atmosphere at this show is so raucous. 'I told him as a fan, I was over the moon, and so excited, but as a professional, you have to control yourself.' He adds, smiling: 'If you don't rein it in, the audience will take over and you'll just be singing songs all night. And people have got buses to catch.' Celtic The Musical will be at the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow from September 4 to 27.
