San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) has become the prime place for any nerdy property to announce new projects and give exciting updates.

This is definitely the case with Marvel Studios, which has had countless reveals during its iconic Hall H panels. This includes last year when it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would take on the role of Victor Von Doom, AKA Doctor Doom.
Needless to say, fans were excited to see what exactly Marvel Studios would reveal during this year's panel. Unfortunately, it looks like fans will have to keep waiting.

According to a report from Aaron Couch and Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios will "break with tradition and not have its infamous, senses-shattering Saturday evening Hall H panel."

This is largely because the next major film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 'Fantastic Four: First Steps,' is set to open that weekend.
Additionally, 'Avengers: Doomsday' has been pushed to December 2026, meaning that the cast is currently filming and Marvel has another SDCC before the film will be released in theaters.
That being said, this doesn't mean that Marvel will be completely absent from SDCC. According to The Hollywood Reporter, they will still have "numerous panels about comics, games and more" as well as a "fully redesigned and immersive booth that leans into the release of Fantastic Four."

While this may be surprising to most fans, it isn't the first time Marvel Studios has skipped its Hall H panel.
Marvel Studios was focused on filming the original 'Avengers' film in 2011, they had no footage to share in 2015, and several films were wrapping production in 2018 with nothing new to show.
On top of that, Marvel was missing in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in 2023 due to the Actors and Writers strikes.
Even though this isn't unprecedented, it's still surprising to see Marvel taking such a big step back. Time will tell who will move in to take the highly coveted spot.

Fans Were Freaking Out After Chris Hemsworth Posted (Seemingly) A Goodbye To Thor, But They're Missing One Key Detail

Following the departure of Robert Downey Jr., at least as Iron Man, Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Hemsworth's Thor has been one of the last, and the most visible, of the original Avengers team. With other Avengers, like Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, also passing the torch to new heroes, one wonders just how much longer Thor will be around. It seems likely that Hemsworth may follow in the footsteps of his fellow Avengers and hang up his hammer before too long. However, fans were recently given a scare as they were afraid he'd chosen to do it now. Yesterday, Chris Hemsworth posted a video to his YouTube channel titled 'Thank You! The Legacy of Thor.' The video included a variety of shots and interviews with various people from the beginning of Hemsworth's time in the MCU up through the present day. Along with the video came a post that read… Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. For the last 15 years I've held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Needless to say, the video and the post gave fans a start because it's easy to see it all as a farewell. Numerous posts indicated that when they first saw the post, they thought it was a retirement announcement. Comments included… Got scared for a second that this was announcement that you were retiring from the character -@reallynotnoone I my heart skipped a beat the second I saw this came across this video, I THOUGHT YOU WERE RETIRING 😭 PLEASE DON'T SCARE US LIKE THAT MY FATHER AND I ADORE THOR AND YOU -@veronicakim5412 I WAS THINKING THIS WAS THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE THOR'S END IN MCU Don't scare me like that, Chris!! -@nichols._.editss literally got Hemsworth is a true legend .....Lots of love from India Sir -@vedant3598 Ok. I thought this is like a farewell video Need Thor 5 -@hi_im_willow However, fans don't need to be too worried about losing Thor. At least not yet. While Hemsworth's post could be read as a goodbye, anybody who saw the reveal of the Avengers: Doomsday cast knew that the Thor actor isn't done yet. His name was the first one revealed in the epic Marvel livestream. He also re-confirmed this fact at the end of his post, saying… Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable.. Next up, Doomsday! Of course, none of this means that Chris Hemsworth's Thor days aren't numbered. Thor may be appearing in next year's Avengers: Doomsday, but there's certainly no guarantee the character will survive the events. Perhaps this was a way for Hemsworth to begin to say goodbye to his time in the MCU.

Chris Hemsworth's Thor Video Scares Avengers: Doomsday Fans

Fans of the MCU are on pins and needles as Avengers: Doomsday has entered production. The recently delayed film is bringing back a number of franchise heroes, including Chris Hemsworth's Thor, who might've unintentionally set fans into a tizzy with an innocent video. Earlier this week, the Australia actor published a video looking back on his time as Thor, from 2011's Thor to when we last saw him in 2022's Love & Thunder. It's worth noting the video itself is nearly three years old and originally published before Love's release, but what caught viewers' eye was the description: 'Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. For the last 15 years I've held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable.. Next up, Doomsday!' The first Thor turns 15 in May 2026 (the same month of Doomsday's original release), so most likely, he just accidentally published it way in advance of that milestone. But the description's wording has longtime fans wondering if this is curtains for the God of Thunder; he's one of three original Avengers still around and alive, he's a father, and he's got Mjolnir again. As the one with the most heroic tenure when we enter Doomsday, the thinking seems to be he's due to go down, same as Tony and Natasha before him. Speaking of Tony, these thoughts are likely enhanced by Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom, the thinking being someone's got to be shocked by seeing this villain wear their friend's face, so why not pull that punch and then kill off Thor to raise the stakes? Hemsworth himself has been mum on the video at time of writing, and we likely won't know what awaits Thor until Doomsday. But death's always the end for the Avengers: Natasha got a final send-off in Black Widow, and Downey and Chris Evans are both coming back as other characters. The same could be true for Hemsworth down the line, or maybe we get a fifth solo movie showing if he got up to any Olympian stuff between Love and Doomsday. Even if Doomsday does kill him off, it won't be the last we see of Hemsworth—even if it's not 'til he's 90, we'll probably see him swing and strike down enemies with Mjolnir or Stormbreaker a few more times.
