Coronation Street legend who was killed off signs up for Celebrity MasterChef
Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn is set to cook up a storm in the kitchen on Celebrity MasterChef.
The former Waterloo Road actress will appear alongside Blue singer Antony Costa, Love Island beauty Uma Jammeh and RuPaul's Drag Race star Ginger Johnson when the hit BBC One show returns later this year.
31-year-old McGlynn played Sinead Tinker in the ITV soap and started getting into food after leaving the famous Wetherfield cobbles.
The actress also appeared on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.

According to reports, she jumped at the chance to show off her culinary skills when approached to take part earlier this year.
A TV source said: 'The celebrity version of Masterchef has already been filmed and there's a great mix of people this year, including Katie.
'She brings a bit of glamour as well as that northern sense of humour.
'Viewers are going to be really impressed with the standard this year.'
After leaving Corrie back in 2019, Katie admitted that she struggled with comfort eating following her character Sinead Tinker's harrowing death.
The following year she won the NTA for Serial Drama Performance and embarked on a health and fitness programme and started cooking meals from scratch.
The source added: 'Katie is all about making healthy, balanced meals and wanted to see how far she could push her cooking skills on a show like Masterchef.'

The Cumbrian food critic was announced by the BBC as Wallace's replacement in December after he was axed due to a series of complaints about his alleged behaviour.
Speaking to Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on This Morning back in December, Grace confessed it was a "dream come true" to be asked to fill Wallace's shoes.
"It's one of those wonderful shows on British TV, and when you go out into the public, you feel that you can't eat anywhere in privacy ever again, you can't even go into a supermarket without people looking into your trolley and going, 'I can't believe she's bought that.'"

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina (AP) — There is an unmistakable air of Peckham these days in Bosnia's capital, Sarajevo, as the legendary yellow three-wheeled van from the BBC's long-running sitcom 'Only Fools and Horses' cruises the city streets. The little Reliant Regal was the trademark of the stars of the series — the irresistible Trotter brothers from Peckham, a working-class neighborhood in London. In Bosnia, a replica belongs to the Fatic brothers, local businessmen who are crazy about the show. The Fatics are dealers in home appliances, running a successful company with dozens of employees and a huge shop on the outskirts of Sarajevo. Building the business, however, has resembled the ups and downs of the Peckham market traders Del Boy and Rodney Trotter, they say. 'We are definitely the local version of the series,' Tarik Fatic, the younger of the brothers, told The Associated Press. 'We were always dealing in something, we would buy whatever we can and then sell it.' The enormously popular BBC sitcom, which began in 1981, follows the lives of the Trotter brothers and their far-from-straightforward path from rags to riches. Over the course of seven series and several Christmas specials, the Trotters tried various get-rich-quick schemes, buying low-quality or sometimes black-market goods and selling them at the market. Many in Bosnia and in the wider Balkans easily identify with the Trotters' endless wheeling and dealing. In the region that went through a series of wars in the 1990s, where the economy was shattered and remains deeply corrupt, the Trotter ways of survival are simple reality. Just like the Trotter brothers, 'we always tried to make profit and regardless of how many times we failed, we just moved on,' Tarik Fatic said. Also from a working-class family, and growing up in a country that was devastated in the bloody 1992-95 ethnic conflict , the brothers tried trading in food, poultry and clothes before settling on home appliances. They are aware there are no guarantees their current success will last. 'The market (in Bosnia) is still disorganized and unstable,' Tarik Fatic, 33, said. 'Not a day passes without the two (Del Boy and Rodney) crossing my mind.' Known here as Mucke, which actually means something like wheeling and dealing, 'Only Fools and Horses' became hugely popular throughout what was still Yugoslavia from the 1980s onwards. Murals with images of main characters have been painted on the walls; many cafes were named after the series, while visiting actors were greeted with frenzy. The Reliant Regal was made by a British company, famous for its eccentric vehicles, that went out of business in 2002. In Sarajevo, people wave, take pictures with their phones, honk their horns when they see the yellow van in the streets. The Fatic brothers imported it from Manchester six months ago after a long search. It took a while to register the unusual vehicle, said Mirnes Fatic, 38. 'It is a very nice feeling. It's a joy every time I go for a ride in the city,' he said, admitting that it also was 'a great advertising move.' And it's not just the van. The Fatic brothers have also named their company after the series — Only Fools and Horses Brothers Mucke. There have been some doubts how clients and banks would react but it turned out really well, Mirnes added. 'We hope and believe that this time next year, we will be millionaires,' he smiled, using the famous phrase from the show.

Before then, we are told there are around five to six candidates in the mix. Two of those are believed to be frontrunner Kate Phillips and BBC iPlayer and channels boss Dan McGolpin. Another pair are understood to be Nat Geo's Tom McDonald and a new name, David Brindley, the Chief Creative Officer of Destination X producer Twofour. There is thought to be at least one other dark horse candidate, possibly two. The BBC declined to comment. Previously deemed a frontrunner, Bennett has always been positioned as a strong candidate but has just got his feet under the table at BBC Studios, initiating a major restructure in the past few weeks and bringing in several new lieutenants. He is the latest big name to exit the race, following the likes of Banijay UK boss Patrick Holland, Netflix's Anne Mensah and Apple TV+ executive Jay Hunt. In around a week to 10 days' time, Deadline understands the remaining candidates will be whittled down to two, at which point they will be grilled in front of an interview panel of senior BBC executives, likely including Director General Tim Davie. Unscripted supremo Phillips remains the one to beat, with BBC insiders and highly-regarded producers pulling for her to get the job. A Netflix-shaped spanner was thrown in the works earlier this week with a report in UK TV trade Broadcast that said she is being wooed by the streamer. Deadline revealed the exit of Netflix unscripted head Ben Kelly several weeks back. Netflix UK is on quite the tear and the Broadcast article dropped on the day the SVoD poached Channel 4's film and TV drama boss Ollie Madden. McGolpin is no less senior than Phillips but Phillips has the programme-making chops and has been acting up in Moore's place over the past few months. McDonald and Brindley are old friends from BBC commissioning, where they successfully ran the specialist factual and factual entertainment departments respectively for several years. The highly-rated McDonald has been touted as a possible Moore replacement since the contest began. He has handy experience working in the States as Disney-owned Nat Geo's EVP Global Factual & Unscripted and has worked with huge stars including David Attenborough and Idris Elba. He is known, however, to have built a life in America and is happy in his current role. Twofour's Brindley is thought to be one of the other contenders. He has been overseeing a successful period for the ITV Studios-owned indie that has included landing the £20M ($27M) contract to make Destination X for the BBC and NBC, new BBC reality franchise I Kissed a Boy/Girl and a historic third series for Apple TV+ doc The Reluctant Traveler. As with McDonald, Brindley is thought to be happy in his current employ. Notably, Phillips, McDonald and Brindley skew heavily unscripted, leaving the feeling that there could still be a big name from the drama world to emerge. Led by search firms Grace Blue and Ibison, the process is moving quickly, with the BBC appearing keen to have a name in place after Moore left the building last week. Moore will become CEO of The Crown producer Left Bank Pictures and creative director of international production at Sony Pictures Television. Stay tuned for more.
