South Texas Viewers Claim Lady Gaga's Grammy Speech Was Cut By Local Nexstar Station; Source Says It Was A 'Mistake'
As part of her acceptance speech, Gaga expressed her support for the LGBTQIA+ community by saying 'trans people are not invisible. Trans people deserve love. The queer community deserves to be lifted up.' The speech quickly went viral.

But according to a thread on Reddit, several people in the lower Rio Grande Valley said KVEO in Brownsville, TX. immediately went to a commercial so they questioned whether the station cut away from the speech because 'I live in a red state.'
'I later saw her speech declaring that trans people are not invisible on other platforms,' said one user. 'I know that censorship is happening but idk if this was just a coincidence or not.'
Other Reddit users who said they were from Texas confirmed it was cut, too. Viewers from the Dallas and Houston areas, however, said they saw and heard the speech.

— Deadline (@DEADLINE) February 3, 2025
A source close to the station insists that the cut to a commercial was a mistake after booth personal inadvertently triggered it while preparing for the late evening newscast.
Gaga has been a vocal ally of the queer community throughout her career. Her Grammys speech came after President Donald Trump rolled back diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives. His administration also recently removed transgender references from the federal government websites.
