Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell shares huge update on rumoured celebrity line-up

Daily Mirror2 days ago
Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has now added more weight to the rumours that former Neighbours star Stefan Dennis is joining the popular BBC dancing competition
With just weeks until Strictly Come Dancing hits our screens once again, the rumour mill has gathered even more momentum as the celebrity line-up has become a subject of discussion among fans. And now, professional dancer Dianne Buswell has added more fuel to the rumours after lifting the lid on one person in particular, who may be joining this year's line-up.

Step forward Australian actor Stefan Dennis, who is famed for his role as Paul Robinson in Neighbours. So far, it has been suggested that Stefan, former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison, Stacey Solomon and former Coronation Street Helen Flanagan will be taking to the dancefloor this year. This comes after Cruz Beckham 'steals' his dad's tiny white trunks and family have epic response.

While on her podcast Winning Isn't Everything, which she co-hosts with her dance partner from last year Chris McCausland, she let slip that she had heard Stefan was joining the BBC show.
When asked by Chris who will be donning the infamous sequinned outfits, she responded saying: "I have no idea, Chris!"
However, she hen continued: "I heard that there's going be someone from Neighbours, which would be sick! I would love to dance with an Aussie!" Chris replied: "I loved Neighbours when I was younger."

Dianne went on to say: "That's what I've heard. Someone told me this. Was it you, actually? No, you didn't tell me.
"Someone told me, 'Oh, word on the street is there's a guy from Neighbours that's gonna be in it'. And I was like, 'Oh, that would be sick! That would be so cool!'".
Not realising the level of popularity associated with Paul in the UK, she asked Chris: "Is he a big deal? Was he popular?"

Over the years, the BBC have done their best to freshen up the professional dancers line-up. And this year, the broadcaster confirmed that Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Gorka Marquez, and Luba Mushtuk, will be taking to the dancefloor for the show.
In addition, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Michelle Tsiakkas, Aljaž Škorjanec, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Nikita Kuzmin and Vito Coppola will also be dancing on Strictly this year, too.

Along with the more established dancers, two newcomers will also join the professional dancers; So You Think You Can Dance champion Alexis Warr and Australia's Dancing With The Stars' Julian Caillon.
Last month, lead judge Shirley Ballas was confirmed to be resuming her role alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.
Appearing on This Morning Shirley said: "What I can tell you is, we have two fabulous professionals coming and joining the show. They are amazing really. We've got some little changes there that you're going to be really surprised about, every year they make those few little changes and it's really, really, really amazing."

Sugababes ‘honoured' to share same stage as Mariah Carey after headlining Pride

On Sunday, the English girl group closed the weekend of celebrations in Preston Park with a show full of throwbacks and synchronised dance moves. After taking to the stage, they said 'last night headlining was Mariah' before adding: 'It's a complete honour to be on the same stage.' Just like Carey on Saturday, the group told the audience that the LGBT+ community has always been the 'core' of their fanbase. Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy had the whole crowd bouncing as they closed the show with About You Now, despite some microphone issues. Buena seemed to struggle as she sang the introduction, with her vocals fading out, but the trio recovered well, bringing the curtain down on this year's Preston Park performances. The group referenced their 'long journey', having started when they were around 12 years old in 1998 before splitting and then regaining the name Sugababes in 2019. Images of each of them as kids flickered up on screen accompanied by a voiceover describing their story so far. 'We found our way back to each other,' Buchanan said. They almost forgot to sing their 2025 single Shook, starting the intro for the next song before doubling back, admitting they are 'not used' to having it in the set. According to the BBC, roughly 300,000 people were in Brighton over the weekend. Many of the acts across the weekend have made sure to remind their audience that Pride started as protest, with some making reference to Gaza and also transgender rights being rolled back in the UK. Drag queen Tayris Mongardi, who performed at Brighton Pride this weekend, told the PA news agency that Pride is about being 'present and vocal' while also having a 'good bloody time'. She said that while living and working in the UK is 'privileged' compared to other countries, it is still important to remember 'what we're fighting for'. The performer said: 'Look, we're so blessed in so many ways to have the privileges we do here versus other countries and whatnot but really like it is a protest and you do have to remember not only its roots and where it's come from but what we're fighting for. 'Yes I might be queer and of colour but I have so many trans brothers and sisters, siblings and we're watching their rights actually being taken away – it's about being present, being vocal.' Ms Mongardi has performed at every Brighton Pride since 2017, excluding the pandemic year, and now feels like she is 'part of the furniture' at the event, and said that Pride is about community. She added: 'Protect trans lives, protect black lives, and have a good bloody time you know, we're all fighting, we're all trying to get through the place but have a good time while you're doing it right?'

John Torode and Lisa Faulkner's sprawling London home as sacked MasterChef star hosts friends for low-key 60th birthday dinner

John Torode is said to have hosted a few friends for an intimate dinner party at home last week as he continues to keep a low-profile in the wake of his MasterChef axe. The chef recently lost his job on the BBC show after two decades over allegations he used the N-word, which he claims to have 'absolutely no recollection' of. While he has been laying low amid the scandal, he and wife Lisa Faulkner were reportedly joined by friends to celebrate the star's 60th birthday on July 23. Over the years, the couple have given fans a glimpse inside the stunning London home they share, particularly their fully kitted-out kitchen. Recently, Lisa offered another glance of their abode as she shared a snap of herself and her pooch in her tranquil garden, while thanking her fans for supporting her of late. She penned: 'Our little shadow over the past few weeks. I can't tell you how much Rory has kept me smiling.' MasterChef star John, 60, recently lost his job on the BBC show and Lisa shared a snap of herself in their garden with Rory as she shared how she had been coping during the time Lisa continued: 'Every day she wakes up wagging her tail, smiling and greeting a new day with her positivity ! My motto really is Be More Rory.' John and Lisa live in their sprawling London home with their beloved dog Rory, where they enjoy a relaxed life, often giving fans a look inside the property. The kitchen is quite the hub of their home given John works as a chef while Lisa herself is a passionate cook, having won Celebrity MasterChef in 2010 - which was where she first met John. Their impressive kitchen, where they often film cooking content together, features stylish blue built-in cabinets complete with marble surfaces. They have a modern double oven and hob which features a white tiled backsplash and a metal cooker hob, where they display an array of ornaments. There is also a large wooden breakfast bar in the centre of the room, providing ample space for John to showcase his cooking talents. They also have a sign reading 'love' hung up in the space, no doubt referring to the couple's love for cooking up a storm in the space. Their love of cooking also expands into their 'garden room', where they have a huge larder packed full of ingredients and another bench, both from Chiltern Oak Furniture. Known for their love of cooking, they have a garden room which features a larger and a cooking bench, giving them another space to whip up a storm as well as their modern kitchen The room also features a homely touch as it boasts a grey sofa bed from Willow and Hall, which sits in front of vibrant pink floral wallpaper. The room is complete with a full-length mirror from William Wood, with Lisa giving fans a tour of the room in a video shared in 2023 to give others 'outdoor inspiration'. '@johntorodecooks and I might move in, hope that helps for any outdoor room inspiration!!' she quipped in a caption at the time. The rest of their property in equally as homely and their master bedroom has forest green wallpaper and contrasting pink curtains. The rest of the room features complementing colours as their bedding also boasts the same tones while they also have a vibrant pink rug covering the wooden floor. It is complete with a statement fireplace as well as a romantic sign reading: 'As soon as I saw you I knew a grand adventure was about to happen.' The couple had the bedroom painted back in 2023, with Lisa proudly showing off the results of the refurbishment on her Instagram page at the time. They also have their own tranquil garden, perfect for soaking up the rays during the balmy London summers. Lisa has previously described the space as her and John's 'sanctuary' and the couple often share snaps of them both relaxing in the area. Their garden features a well-kept lawn as well as a patio area, which features an L-shaped sofa and a small table perfect for summer entertaining. The raised patio also sits next to their covered garden room, giving them an indoor alternative if the weather takes a turn for the worse. Lisa often shares adorable snaps of herself and her beloved dog Rory lounging in the sunshine in the garden, proving he is as big a fan of the space as she and John are. The couple live in the stunning property with Lisa's daughter, while John also has four adult children from two previous relationships.

Viewers lash out at 'boring' Logies ceremony amid rumours the awards night is 'on its last legs'

The Logie Awards got off to a glamorous start on Sunday night. But not everyone watching the telecast was impressed, with many viewers lashing out at the 'boring' awards show. Several people took to X to slam the annual ceremony and claim the Logies simply isn't relevant any more. 'No better confirmation that free to air TV is dying than the #Logies - a mixture of yesterday's celebrities and nobodies talking about themselves,' one person wrote. 'It's quaint how they still have the Logies - a dying medium celebrating mediocrity #Logies,' another said. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. A third commented: 'Dear Aussie media, no one gives a flying f*** about the Logies, regards, the Australian public.' 'Are the Logies even relevant anymore?' another questioned while one said: 'Geez the Logies have become so irrelevant.' 'In fairness the Logies are an embarrassment and have been for at least 30 years... Did you see the nominees for awards this year? Not a shred of talent to be seen,' one wrote. Another added: 'Sometimes I get mad about how much I pay for streaming services but then remember I don't have to endure torturous broadcasts like tonight's #Logies.' It comes after Daily Mail revealed the Logie Awards might not be back next year - or ever. A very high-level TV insider has revealed 'they're quietly rolling up the red carpet'. 'It's just not viable anymore. No one wants to pay for it, no one's watching, and the people behind it are already looking for an exit,' said the source. That 'exit' is apparently the upcoming fire sale of mags at Are Media - which owns TV Week and the Logies brand. The private equity firm backing Are Media, Mercury Capital, wants out after five years of underwhelming returns. The Logies red carpet used to host the likes of Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, One Direction, Ricky Martin and even Destiny's Child. 'You remember when the Logies had international stars, outrageous moments, drama?' said the insider. 'Now it's a glorified promo reel for local TV. It's like the Bogan Oscars. The big acts are gone - and so is the audience. 'It's Karl Stefanovic, Sonia Kruger, Hamish Blake - rinse and repeat. Boring! The audience is tired, the talent's recycled, and the networks aren't throwing cash at Logies campaigns like they used to.' The ratings have also plummeted as Seven - which reclaimed the Logies broadcast in 2023 after 28 years with Nine - has seen a 20 per cent drop in digital audience. 'Seven thought they were buying back a national treasure. What they got was a very expensive nostalgia trip,' the insider added.
