Giants injury updates: Andrew Thomas, Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo healthy
The team announced via social media Tuesday that offensive tackle Andrew Thomas had passed his physical and would return to practice. In addition, the G-Men will also see second-year wide receiver Malik Nabers (back) and rookie running back Cam Skattebo (hamstring) return to the practice field Tuesday.
It's big news for a Giants squad that has managed to go 2-0 in preseason games without any of the three available. Thomas and Nabers are both starters and two of the team's biggest stars on offense. Skattebo, a fourth-round pick by New York this year, is projected to split carries with sophomore back Tyrone Tracy Jr.

Andrew Thomas injury update
Thomas suffered a Lisfranc injury in a Week 6 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals last year. The injury ended his season prematurely and marked a second straight season missing seven or more games after he signed a five-year extension in 2023.
The five-year veteran spent all of the spring and start of training camp on the PUP list while rehabbing from his Lisfranc injury, which required a surgery last fall.
The Giants announced on social media Tuesday that Thomas had passed his physical and would return to practice.
Malik Nabers injury update
Nabers has been battling a couple of injuries this offseason.
He first missed all of the Giants' spring activities while the team elected to let Nabers rest and recovery from a lingering toe injury he's had since college. More recently, the rising star wideout suffered a back injury that caused him to miss the last two weeks of practice and both of New York's preseason games so far.
On Tuesday, head coach Brian Daboll told reporters that Nabers would be returning to practice. That opens the door for him to make his 2025 preseason debut when the Giants host the New England Patriots on Thursday night. Provided everything goes well, Nabers should remain available to start in Week 1 of the regular season as well.

Cam Skattebo injury update
Skattebo suffered a minor hamstring injury in early August then missed the last two and a half weeks of practice when a setback kept him out for extra time. The injury caused Skattebo to miss both of the Giants' first two preseason games and robbed him of a chance to poach more first-team snaps from Tracy, New York's presumed lead back.
Daboll said Tuesday that Skattebo would be returning to practice this week, which, like Nabers, opens the door for him to make his 2025 preseason debut later this week. If and when Skattebo takes the field on Thursday night, it will also be his professional debut for the Giants after New York nabbed him with a fourth-round pick in April.

Top New York Giants Rookie Abdul Carter Trolls New York Jets Online
The New York Giants have been playing the New York Jets since 1970. That's 55 years of history together. Giants rookie Abdul Carter may be in his first season, but he's already pouring fuel on the Giants-Jets rivalry. Carter, the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, recently wrapped up his first rivalry game against the Jets on Saturday. While it was only a preseason matchup, there was still plenty of tension on both sides. One specific play may have captured it all, when Jets tight end Stone Smartt managed to knock Carter on his butt with a chip block. The NFL's official X social media account tweeted a clip of the play. Yet, that emitted a very pointed response from Carter, basically suggesting the Jets are in for a long, grueling season that won't deliver many wins. While this play doesn't look too pretty for Carter, perhaps it serves as added motivation to put in some extra work over the next few weeks before the season starts. It may be a laughable moment right now, but no one will be joking around if Carter can put forth a strong rookie season that helps him compete for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award. For the record, the Giants did whoop the Jets pretty badly, to the tune of a 31-12 final score. Unfortunately, the Jets don't play the Giants this season, so the only way we'll see another matchup is if the two somehow reach the Super Bowl together. But those Super Bowl odds don't look too favorable. Dallas Cowboys Urged to Trade for Rival Pro Bowl QB
The Dallas Cowboys are just weeks away from kicking off their regular season. Right now, team owner Jerry Jones and company are in evaluation mode, trying to build the best roster possible. Yet, one of the team's weaknesses is becoming more and more obvious with each game that the Cowboys play. Earlier this offseason, the Cowboys were singing backup quarterback Joe Milton's praises. Not any more, after Milton completed 26 of 47 passes for 265 yards and a touchdown in his first two preseason performances with the team. Milton's inconsistent performances now have the team possibly reconsidering their quarterback depth chart. Dak Prescott is the unquestioned starter, but Milton was supposed to be the primary backup after the Cowboys traded a fifth-round pick for the former sixth-round pick in April. Thirty-year-old journeyman Will Grier is the only other quarterback on the Cowboys' roster. However, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio is now urging the Cowboys to make a move for a new backup to Prescott. Considering how important it is for all playoff contenders to have a QB ready to step in at a moment's notice, the Cowboys may want to evaluate all their options. Yet, Florio's suggestion is a bit wild. He believes Dallas should call the New York Giants about trading for their already announced starter, Russell Wilson. Florio's reasoning ties into the strong preseason performances from first-round rookie Jaxson Dart, who's completed 26 of 35 passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns thus far. It's likely only a matter of time before the Giants install Dart as the long-term starter, but it likely won't happen before the regular season kicks off. After all, they likely want to give Wilson, a former Super Bowl winner, every chance to succeed before considering alternative options. However, the Giants do also have Jameis Winston, and he could already be on the trade block. Other options Florio suggests for the Cowboys include Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco from the Cleveland Browns. Or perhaps Sam Howell from the Minnesota Vikings. Ultimately, the best solution for the Cowboys may be to wait and see which quarterbacks end up on the chopping block once rosters are trimmed down from 90 to 53 players.
