Gemma Atkinson 'very proud' as Gorka Marquez shares major Strictly announcement
The professional dancer was earlier this year confirmed to be making a comeback to the BBC One dance competition as part of the pro line-up.
Alongside Gorka, it was revealed that Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin and Luba Mushtuk will once again grace the dance floor.
They'll be joined by Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Aljaž Škorjanec, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola.
When the pro line-up was confirmed, it was also announced that two brand new professional dancers will be making their debut, with the newcomers being So You Think You Can Dance champion Alexis Warr and Australia's Dancing With The Stars' Julian Caillon, reports the Manchester Evening News.
While it's still uncertain which professional dancers will be paired with celebrity partners this year, given there are more pros than contestants, Gorka has already ruled himself out of competing in the competition this year.

"As always thank you for all The love and support and remember! Keep dancing! ! !".
His fiancée Gemma, whom he met on Strictly back in 2017, was swift to respond, commenting: "Vamos! Very proud."

The Wheel contestant leaves BBC show with ZERO pounds after everyone fails to answer jackpot question in 'rare' result - but could you have guessed it right?
A contestant on The Wheel went home with zero pounds after every celebrity failed to guess a jackpot prize question on an episode of the BBC show. The popular programme sees members of the public try to win cash prizes by answering quiz questions in specific categories, with the help of a number of celebrity experts. As The Wheel spins, contestants hope they will land on the celebrity who has the right knowledge to help with their question. However, one episode has gone viral after a contestant walked away empty-handed leaving host Michael McIntyre stunned. The show started off smoothly, with each hopeful sailing through the rounds up until the end of the game. Could you have done better than these participants? Fans watched as contestant Jonathan took on a question for a prize of £52,000 with help from YouTube star Harry Pinero. He was asked: 'When fully grown, which of these species of shark is typically the largest? Great hammerhead shark, Great white shark, Tiger shark or Basking shark.' Unfortunately for Jonathan, Harry confessed he had 'no clue' but answered Hammerhead Shark - but the correct answer was a Basking Shark. Gillian was up next and faced a £26,000 question with Mark Wright. They were asked: 'Which country is the world's largest producer of coffee? Brazil, Colombia, India or Kenya.' While they were both drawn to Columbia, they were gutted to learn the right answer was in fact Brazil. Luckily for Gillian, she had another shot at cracking The Wheel, with comedian Katherine Ryan stepping in to help her with a £13,000 question. They were asked: 'Of these restaurants, which opened in the UK first? KFC, McDonald's, Domino's or Wagamamas.' Katherine, 42, admitted she hadn't been in the UK that many years to know for sure, but noted that McDonald's is long in business. Gillian agreed, sharing how she remembers having birthday parties there as a child. Have you guessed it? In a shock to them both, it was revealed KFC was the oldest restaurant chain from the list. While Gillian was devastated at the result, funnyman Michael, 49, called the episode a 'heartbreaker' and pointed out how it's 'rare' contestants leave the show empty-handed. Closing the show, he told viewers: 'We have no winner tonight, but thank you to all our experts. We'll see you next time - and hopefully we'll have a winner then - on The Wheel.' The Wheel airs on BBC One and is available now on iPlayer.

The family can be seen posing together in charming photos and enjoying the local wildlife, with kangaroos and snakes making appearances in the pictures. Posting on The Strawbridge Family account, they captioned it: "Thank you Australia for the magical memories. More to come on our adventures.. but we had to share some of our favourite pictures. "We have hugged, laughed and swapped stories with so many.. it's really been truly amazing. Thank you for the love. Until the next time!" Fans rushed to the comments section, many expressing surprise at how much their children, Arthur and Dorothy, have grown since viewers last saw them on Escape to the Chateau, reports the Mirror. One fan shared: "One, I just want to cry. Looking at Dorothy and Arthur and how they have grown. I've watched your beautiful family from the beginning of the Chateau show (which I miss). They are beautiful. Dorothy is gorgeous and Arthur is exceedingly handsome." One social media user remarked: "I cannot believe how much Dorothy and Arthur have grown. I remember how little they were. I watched your TV programme from the very beginning." Another agreed, saying: "Surreal to see how grown up the kids are considering we're still seeing reruns of the Chateau when Arthur was 9! So glad you've enjoyed our beautiful country." A fourth chimed in: "Cannot believe how much the kids have grown! Hope you all had a wonderful time." Escape to the Chateau followed the family's journey as they purchased and renovated the 19th-century Château de la Motte-Husson, in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France. The show first aired on Channel 4 in 2016 and boasted an impressive 50 episodes across nine series before it concluded in December 2022. Explaining their decision to wrap up the show, the couple told HELLO! in 2023: "It was two years ago that we decided to end the Escape to the Chateau series. "We made the decision because the kids are growing older, and all the parallel activity was not sustainable at this level. We are doers and we are never going to stop completely, but we're also protecting them. "Arthur is starting senior school and the pressure on our little ones is phenomenal. When he goes there, people may have heard that his parents have done stuff on television." Angel added: "Up until this year, we were not on French television at our request because while we are the British family that bought the Chateau in the village, we are very much completely normal."

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A BALAMORY icon has dropped a major hint that she will have a brand new role in the upcoming reboot. BBC bosses last year announced that two new seasons of the hit noughties programme will be screened in 2026. Several other actors, including Kim Tserkezie and Juliet Cadzow, will also appear when the revamped series airs on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer. But Juliet could have a different role this time around when the series hits TV screens. The 74-year-old played Edie McCredie in the popular children's television programme from 2002 to 2005. She was one of the main cast members and was the driver and mechanic of the Yellow Daisy bus. But this time around, Edie could be doing something very different. Wonderful to be back on Mull filming Balamory Juliet Cadzow Snaps shared on Instagram appear to show Juliet driving a boat while filming on Tobermory on the Isle of Mull for the last two weeks. She was dressed in a blue outfit, which was Edie's favourite colour, and which also looked a little like a delivery costume. She was also spotted on a yellow and blue boat, which was called Sea Dasher, with Edie McCredie written on a sign on the front alongside an icon of a little open parcel. Tobermory Bay Tours shared photos on social media of Juliet filming on the boat alongside Andrew Agnew. Balamory actor in major career change that is worlds away from the popular noughties BBC kids show The post, on Instagram, said: "A few more behind-the-scenes antics from yesterday with the Balamory crew. "You'll have to wait until next year to find out what pc plum has spotted through the binoculars. "Who's going to be tuning in to watch?" They also shared a video of one of their staff on the bright yellow boat and teased that it was actually their vessel Twilight that was used for Sea Dasher. Tobermory Bay Tours posted yesterday: "Today has definitely been one of a kind! "It's not every day you get to be a 'stunt' double, but Twilight stole the show starring as Edie McCredie's boat, Sea Dasher." Juliet shared her own snaps from her time on Mull for the filming of the reboot show. Posting on Instagram, she said: "Wonderful to be back on Mull filming Balamory". Fans flocked to the comments to share their excitement at the new reboot. One person said: "Wonderful! Cannot wait for another generation of people to love this". Another added: "This is amazing!!! Can't wait for my kids to watch it". Someone else wrote: "Really happy there is another series of ballamory. You all do an amazing job, and can't wait to see the new version of it. Well done Julie". CAST REVEALED THE cast for the upcoming reboot was revealed last month, and fans were instantly excited. However, many spotted that original cast member Rodd Christensen was missing from the line-up. Rodd, from Las Vegas, played Spencer the Painter in the popular children's television programme from 2002 to 2005. One viewer wrote: "Why isn't Spencer (Rodd Christensen) in these photos? Is he going to be in the show?" A third added: "My kids absolutely loved Spencer, we're gutted he's not coming back." Another said: "Will Spencer be a part of the reboot?" Rodd, who now lives in Las Vegas with his family, explained to a fan on Instagram that he would not be involved at this time. He said: "I would've loved to, but I won't be a part of this reboot at this moment." But the new series is set to blend familiar faces with a host of new characters, offering preschoolers a 'joyful mix of stories, comedy, songs and adventures'. Brand new characters include scientist and inventor Ava Potts, played by Danielle Jam, local vet Dr Ollie Carl Spencer, who lives with his two children and the Harbour Master, played by William Andrews. At its heart remains the charming fictional town of Balamory and its lively inhabitants, where brightly-coloured houses cluster around a scenic harbour and life revolves around the nursery school and its caring teacher. And a fourth shared: "I'm really happy to hear that Balamory will make a comeback next year, Juliet!" While a fifth chimed in: "This is very exciting!" Filming will take place both in the studio in Glasgow and on location in Tobermory. The real-life Isle of Mull town inspired the show's iconic setting. Kate Morton, Head of Commissioning BBC Children's and Education, said: "It's wonderful to see some of the original cast returning alongside new faces, creating a perfect mix of nostalgia and discovery for families to enjoy together. "This vibrant new series will delight both children and the grown-ups who remember it fondly." The original Balamory was also shown in Australia, Canada, the US and Hong Kong. 8 Balamory is being filmed in Tobermory, on the Isle of Mull, as well as the studio in Glasgow Credit: Alamy 8 Juliet shared snaps of her time in Mull with fans on Instagram Credit: @JulietCadzow / Instagram 8 The show originally ran from 2002 until 2005 Credit: BBC
