The Sun exclusively revealed in April that the ratings hit would be returning for a long-awaited seventh outing in 2026, with filming starting in the first half of the year.
Talking yesterday on the Nicky Byrne podcast, Martin was asked whether he'd be taking part in Sport Aid next May.
He replied: "I think, already, I know I'm filming next year. This will be a pretty good one this next show."
Asked by Nicky if he could give him the exclusive on what it is, Martin replied: "Not on this one...but I think most people can have a guess though."
Meanwhile Adrian Dunbar was talking on Wednesday on Radio Ulster and was also asked about Line of Duty, which is filmed in Belfast, where the radio station broadcasts from.
The actor said: We're all keeping our fingers crossed, just waiting on the BBC to make an announcement.
"I know Jed's working away. And I know me and Vicky and Martin really want to do it. So hopefully next year we'll be back in Belfast and rattling around the town making a nuisance of ourselves.
"The wheel is turning on that. It's just down to the BBC to make an announcement."
In April we revealed how Line of duty's three leading stars -Martin, Adrian and Vicky McClure — had finally aligned their jam-packed diaries and will start filming a six-parter in the spring.
Line of Duty stars spark new episode rumours as they reunite for night out
The show about a police anti-corruption squad weeding out bent coppers, has been a ratings hit for the BBC since it first aired in 2012.
The news will thrill fans left disappointed by the limp ending of the police drama's last series.
But many felt let down at the end of series six in 2021 when buffoonish Det Supt Ian Buckells (Nigel Boyle) was unmasked as villain H — the mystery mastermind with links to organised crime.
The Sun exclusively revealed in 2022 that the show, which drew up to 13million viewers, would return.

Jeff Brazier beams as he reunites with son Freddie in sweet snap despite family feud
TV presenter Jeff Brazier has reunited with sons Freddie and Bobby amid a legal dispute and ongoing family tensions as Freddie continues to face his personal struggles Jeff Brazier has reunited with sons Bobby and Freddie for a rare family gathering, despite rising tensions behind the scenes. The 46-year-old TV presenter was joined by his two sons, whom he shared with the late Jade Goody, as well as other relatives, to celebrate his mother Janette's birthday. Posting a smiling family photo, Jeff wrote: "Lovely to have the full squad together yesterday to celebrate my Mum's birthday. Will always be in her debt for the help she has been over the years." The warm family moment is in stark contrast to the seemingly strained relationship between Jeff, 46, and Freddie, 20. Recent reports have revealed that Freddi is currently embroiled in a legal battle with his father, who has allegedly taken steps to block him from visiting his maternal grandmother, Jackiey Budden. Jeff is said to be concerned about her influence, with their ongoing disputes stretching back years following the tragic death of Jackiey's daughter Jade, who died after a battle with cervical cancer when she was just 27-years-old. Despite the turmoil, Jeff appeared on Loose Women on Tuesday share a rare update on his relationship with Freddie. Promoting his role in 101 Dalmatians: The Musical, he spoke about Freddie's interest in seeing him perform. "I was with both the lads yesterday and Freddie is showing more eagerness to come and watch," Jeff said. As for Bobby, the EastEnders actor, Jeff added: "He's been a bit casual about it… Bobby is going to come soon and no doubt there will be a critique that follows. He does trust me, I think he's always admired the fact that I chuck myself in. Whether that's a good idea or not, it soon follows doesn't it?" It comes as Freddie's year has been marked by several personal challenges which he has documented on his social media platforms. Earlier in 2025, he left the family home to live with his grandmother Jackiey. He later announced plans to enter rehab in Spain due to an addiction to 'smoking,' but ultimately decided against it. Most recently, he ended his relationship with girlfriend Holly Swimburn, shortly after the couple adopted an adorable dog together. A source told the Mail: "Things got very intense very quickly… but it has turned ugly pretty fast. There has been an almighty fall out and neither party believes they're in the wrong." Freddie also had a rough encounter at the airport in early July, where he reportedly missed a flight and got into a fight. 'Missed my flight, got punched and got a fine on the train,' he wrote online. 'What a s** day.'* Older brother Bobby later told The Sun: "Freddy will be OK… he's a good boy." He added, "He's very sensitive and wants to please. When he grows up a little bit, that will serve him well."

BBC The Great British Sewing Bee stars 'so surprised' over unexpected double exit
The Great British Sewing Bee contestants were left shocked this evening as two contestants were eliminated from the competition The Great British Sewing Bee contestants were left stunned as an unexpected pair faced elimination from the competition. The BBC's cherished reality contest returned to screens on Tuesday (July 22) evening with Sara Pascoe once again taking the helm as presenter. During the second week, amateur stitchers pulled out all the stops with a series of tasks, hoping to wow judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young with their creations. Initially, the sewers tackled a technical Pattern Challenge, crafting a seven-panel cap. In the Transformation Challenge, they breathed fresh life into discarded cycling kit, transforming it into chic new pieces, reports Wales Online. Finally, for the Made to Measure round, the sewers designed an athleisure ensemble – something functional for the gym yet trendy enough for a café. The stakes were particularly high during both challenges, as two participants would be departing the programme after the judges opted against eliminating anyone the previous week due to Glendora being compelled to withdraw from the challenge owing to illness. Despite giving their utmost throughout the challenge, Saffie and Peter found themselves heading home. Breaking the news, Sara began by declaring: "Now for the difficult bit. You're all so talented, this was a really difficult decision but the two sewers leaving us this week are Saffie and Peter." The announcement clearly caught everyone off guard as they turned towards the duo and gasped, with one participant audibly remarking: "I'm so surprised". Peter, 45, confessed to the camera: "I kind of half expected to hear my name called. They were totally justified in what they said and I've learnt from them." The senior pre-construction manager added: "This is a big learning experience for me." Meanwhile, a tearful Saffie admitted: "I kind of had a feeling I was going to go because I just hadn't kept most of the challenges within time." Justifying their decision, Esme stated: "Peter, he was reflecting who he was, but it wasn't well sewn." Patrick chimed in: "Saffie, I'm disappointed because I would really like to see more from Saffie but her execution let her down." Meanwhile, Orla emerged as the top sewer after impressing the judges in both challenges. Speaking to the camera, an astonished Orla revealed: "I truly didn't expect to win it for sports, so I'm really happy. I mean, I couldn't have asked for anything better, really." Patrick added: "Orla was a very deserving winner of Garment of the Week, she absolutely nailed that athleisure brief." The Great British Sewing Bee airs on Tuesdays at 9pm on BBC One.
