She starred in the fifth season of You and portrayed identical twins Raegan and Maddie LockwoodAnna Camp is happy for her peers but frustrated to hear about the 2025 Emmy nominations.
The actress, 42, starred in the fifth and final season of You as identical twins Raegan and Maddie Lockwood. Despite giving what she calls "one of the best performances" of her life, Camp's name was nowhere to be found when the 2025 Primetime Emmy nominations were announced on Tuesday, July 15.
After the nominations list came out, the Pitch Perfect star expressed her disappointment in not receiving recognition for her role on Instagram, where she published a screenshot from You of her character reading her phone with a sense of confusion.
'Me reading about the nominations this morning knowing I gave one of the best performances of my life while also trying to be happy for everyone and while also remembering I vowed to stop drinking during the week 🫠,' she captioned the photo.
Several Instagram users commented on her post, sharing a similar sentiment. They also praised the actress' two performances.
Camp posted an Instagram Story screenshotting two comments offering kind words, and she captioned the post, 'I love my followers ♥️🥂.'
'You were 🔥🔥🔥🔥… snubs are for scrubs. I'll down one for you 🥂," one of the comments read, while a second read, ' I would get sh@tfaced if I wasn't nominated for this performance ❤️.'
Her girlfriend, Jade Whipkey also offered her support and praised her performance, writing, 'BLOWN AWAY🌹. not many people ever get the chance to play twins and NO ONE has ever done it like you did. Take notes Hollywood ✍️!!!'
You premiered in 2018 on Lifetime before moving to Netflix after its first season. The show never earned an Emmy nomination during its five-season run.
Camp's characters were recurring in the fifth season, which would have likely qualified her for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama category. Those that were nominated in the category include Paradise star Julianne Nicholson, The Pitt's Katherine LaNasa, Severance's Patricia Arquette and The White Lotus stars Aimee Lou Wood, Carrie Coon, Natasha Rothwell and Parker Posey.

Jussie Smollett to speak in Netflix documentary about hate crime hoax

Jussie Smollett's alleged hate crime hoax is the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary. The streamer announced Tuesday that 'The Truth About Jussie Smollett?' will be released on the platform Aug. 22, according to Deadline. Producers of the true-crime hits 'Tinder Swindler,' 'Trainwreck' and 'Don't F**k with Cats' are behind the 90-minute project, comprised of interviews with police officials, lawyers, journalists and Smollett himself. The film centers on the yearslong legal saga launched by Chicago investigators, who determined the 'Empire' actor staged a 2019 hate crime attack as a 'publicity stunt' to advance his career. The documentary has been described as the 'shocking true story of an allegedly fake story that some now say might just be a true story.' In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, director Gagan Rehill said the film 'is a thrilling ride, and we were lucky enough to have access to the key players.' Smollett claimed in January 2019 that unknown assailants attacked him on a Chicago street, punching him in the face, pouring a chemical substance on him and putting a noose around his neck while yelling racial and homophobic slurs. Two brothers associated with Smollett, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, later confessed to having been involved in a scheme orchestrated by the openly gay actor to make it look as though he'd been accosted by Trump-supporting extremists. The 43-year-old NAACP Image Award winner was arrested and later found guilty on a handful of charges related to the incident. He was sentenced to 150 days in jail in 2022, but was released after six days pending an appeal. His conviction was overturned last November as part of a plea deal with prosecutors in exchange for community service and the forfeiture of his $10,000 bond. Smollett, who has always denied any wrongdoing, also agreed to donate at least $50,000 to Chicago's Building Better Futures Center for the Arts organization to resolve the city's lawsuit against him. _____

Trump may have 'just handed an Emmy' to Stephen Colbert, industry reporter says

The Hollywood Reporter speculated on Monday how Stephen Colbert's feud with President Donald Trump after his "Late Show's" cancellation could net him his show's first Emmy. CBS announced last Thursday that it would cancel "The Late Show" next May at the end of its broadcast season. Though CBS and Paramount clarified that the choice to cancel the series was "purely a financial decision," and it's been reported that the show loses CBS $40 million a year, many liberal commentators have pointed to Paramount's recent lawsuit settlement with Trump and an upcoming merger with Skydance as the reason. For his part, Trump celebrated the decision on Truth Social shortly after the news was announced, claiming Colbert's "talent was even less than his ratings." Colbert fired back against Trump on his show Monday night. "How dare you, sir?" Colbert responded. "Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism? Go f--- yourself." Hollywood Reporter editor Steven Zeitchik argued that the "Late Show" franchise ending, combined with Trump's jabs, could motivate academy members to finally award Colbert's iteration of the late-night comedy show after nearly a decade. "Whether the president actually had a hand in the cancellation matters less than the fact that Emmys voters see a partisan battle in the firing," Zeitchik wrote. "An Emmy won't change public policy on immigration and Medicaid. But it's one of the few ways liberal Hollywood can stick it to the leader they loathe." "The Late Show" is currently nominated for best Outstanding Talk Series against "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "Late Night with Seth Meyers." "The Late Show" under Colbert has been nominated for an Emmy 31 times since his run as host began in 2015. Zeitchik added that Colbert winning an Emmy could give the anti-Trump comedian an even bigger platform to attack the president on a personal level. "In a grand irony, if Trump's stance does give Colbert the Emmy the president will have enabled the host to win an honor that has saltily eluded him. ('The Apprentice' went 0 for 8.) And if Colbert did finally win for this show, he would gain an acceptance-speech platform of some 7 million TV viewers, and millions more online, all on and courtesy of the network that just canceled him. That's the thing about punching someone with a TV megaphone — they can punch back," Zeitchik wrote. Fox News Digital reached out to the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for comment.
