Man killed in head-on collision between tractor trailer, pickup truck

A 46-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck south of Casselman Tuesday afternoon, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Police said they responded to the collision on County Road 43 in Finch around 4:20 p.m. The unnamed man from Kemptville who was driving the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, OPP said on social media..
An investigation is ongoing and police are asking for information about it, especially footage,
The crash happened about 17 kilometres south of Casselman and 60 kilometres southeast of downtown Ottawa.

OPP are looking for two suspects in a reported arson at a pizzeria in Hawkesbury on Aug. 4, 2025. (OPP/handout) Ontario Provincial Police are asking for the public's help locating suspects following a fire at a local pizzeria. Police say officers were called to a restaurant on James Street at around 11:30 p.m. Monday on reports of an arson. Smoke and flames were visible inside the restaurant when police arrived. Witnesses told police they saw two men start the fire and then walk away. It's believed two other men spotted in a white Chevrolet Malibu might also be involved. The suspected arsonists are described by police only as 'tall and thin.' They were wearing black sweaters at the time of the incident, and one had a medical-style mask on. 'We know this photo is dark and low rez, but it could spark someone's attention,' police said of a photo that was distributed on social media. At approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, OPP, Parry Sound EMS and and Seguin Fire Department responded to the crash near Healey Lake Road. 'One person was pronounced dead at the scene.' Police said in a news release that the 'investigation is ongoing.' Highway closures and detours in effect According to the Ministry of Transportation's 511 Traveller Information Service, the collision occurred in the highway's southbound at Exit 207 near Mactier, Ont. and as a result all southbound lanes are closed. According to police, a detour has been set up for southbound traffic at Exit 207, while northbound lanes remain open. 'Updates will be provided when available,' OPP said.
