Governor slams violence against KP PPP workers
"Modi's historic humiliation and disgrace at the national and international levels will never be forgotten," the governor said, adding: "Everyone, including all political parties of the country, showed full solidarity with the Pakistan Army against India." During a meeting with a delegation from Wah Cantt at the Governor House, Lahore, the governor said that the success of operation 'Banyan Marsus' of the Pakistan Army against India under the leadership of the Army Chief is the guarantor of a safe Pakistan. He said that India's threat to weaponize water is utterly deplorable and poses a significant threat to regional stability. The governor said that India will think a hundred times before committing any aggression and provocation against Pakistan again. He said that for the integrity and sovereignty of the country all the political parties of the country showed full solidarity with the Pakistan Army. He further said that the Pakistan People's Party is gaining popularity not only in Punjab but also across the country. He said that the Pakistan People's Party will give tough time to the rival parties in the upcoming general elections. He said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will become the next young Prime Minister of the country with the public mandate.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday inaugurated the newly constructed New Hub Canal - a Sindh government and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) project - aimed at addressing the chronic water shortages. The project will provide an additional 100 million gallons per day to the metropolis. The PPP chairman expressed strong displeasure over the prolonged delay in the completion of the K-IV mega water project by the federal govt. "It is unacceptable to operate with 'Shehbaz Speed' for Lahore and switch to 'Shehbaz Slow' for Karachi," he remarked. He said water scarcity had been a long-standing issue for Karachi and must be resolved on a priority basis. Alongside the construction of the new canal, renovation of the old Hub Canal was also under way, which would further enhance supply to District Central, District West and Keamari, while a PC-I had been prepared to extend the project's reach to Lyari. The PPP chairman said he would take up with PM Shehbaz Sharif the issue of non-provision of federal funds for Karachi's development projects and urge early completion of the K-IV scheme. He said he had expected the prime minister to support Karachi's development with the same urgency shown for Lahore. Turning to India, Bilawal alleged that New Delhi was funding the banned BLA and Majeed Brigade to shed the blood of innocent civilians. He accused India of conspiring to block Pakistan's share of water by suspending the Indus Waters Treaty in violation of international law and said the Modi government intended to construct dams and canals on the Indus River.

Prisoners celebrate Independence Day in Karachi
Preparations for Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq are in full swing at Karachi Central Jail. The jail has been vibrantly decorated with lights, green crescent flags, and buntings. Walls are adorned with slogans celebrating Independence Day, Marka-e-Haq, and expressing support for the Pakistan Army. Jail Superintendent Abdul Karim Abbasi and other officials attended various events that have been organised. Quran recitation ceremonies were held, accompanied by prayers for the country's progress. Sports competitions are also being arranged inside the jail as part of the celebrations. Over the decades, as part of the ongoing jail reforms, the provincial governments in the country are focused on making the prisons reformatories. 'Hate crime not the criminal,' is written in bold letters at the entrance of the Karachi Central Jail as well as other penitentiaries of Sindh. Besides conducting schools and skills classes for the prisoners, the jail administrations celebrate national days and religious festival in grand manner to bring some light to the otherwise dreary routine of the jailhouse. Apart from the ongoing Independence Day celebrations at the Karachi Central Jail, Defence Day and Pakistan Day are celebrated with national fervour. Similarly, Eidul Fitr, Eidul Azha and Miladun Nabi are celebrated behind bars with solemnity and festive mood. On all these occasions, special meals like biryani, qorma and kheer are cooked for the inmates.

Bilawal expressed strong dissatisfaction over the federal government's persistent delay in completing the K-IV mega water project, which is crucial for Karachi's growing water needs, according to an official release. The K-IV project, part of an ongoing initiative by the Sindh Government and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), aims to address the city's long-standing water shortage.
