Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will embark on a six-day official visit to Singapore from Saturday, with the primary objective of attracting significant investments to Andhra Pradesh.
During his tour, the Chief Minister is scheduled to engage with representatives of leading global companies, prominent business owners, industrialists, and notable personalities.
This visit marks Naidu's second foreign tour since the formation of the coalition government, following his recent engagement in Davos.
The Singapore visit is anticipated to serve as a crucial platform to promote Brand AP and showcase the state's progressive new industrial policies and commitment to ease of doing business.
The Chief Minister will highlight Andhra Pradesh's robust infrastructure, including its strategic ports, airports, extensive highway network, developed harbors, and abundant water and land resources. He will also underscore the state's significant 1,053 km coastline and its readily available skilled human capital, urging global investors to explore the myriad opportunities within Andhra Pradesh.
Throughout the six-day visit, Naidu will hold extensive meetings with CEOs and senior representatives from various companies.
On the first day on Saturday, he will participate in a Telugu Diaspora meeting, bringing together members of the Telugu community from Singapore and neighboring countries. The Chief Minister will extend a personal invitation to them to invest in Andhra Pradesh and encourage their active participation in the state's P4 (Public-Private-People Partnership) initiative, aimed at poverty eradication.
A significant focus of the Chief Minister's agenda will be attracting investments in critical sectors such as port-based projects, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and data centres. He is also slated to meet senior dignitaries in Singapore to extend invitations to industrialists from the region for the upcoming Visakhapatnam Investment Summit, scheduled for November this year.
Furthermore, Naidu will participate in several business roundtable meetings centered on the digital economy and fintech. He is also expected to attend a dedicated business road show in Singapore and visit key infrastructure and logistics centers across the country as part of his comprehensive tour.

He further alleged that nearly seven lakh eligible farmers were excluded through arbitrary the Kharif season being underway for over two months, not a single rupee had been released, allegedly forcing farmers into private debt, he also criticised the NDA coalition government for scrapping the Price Stabilisation Fund, zero-interest loans, and free crop insurance. He accused the regime of "weakening institutions" such as Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs), e-crop registration, and soil testing the death of over 250 farmers by suicide, which he attributed to the government's "declining support," Reddy alleged even basic relief had not been extended to the affected accused the administration of showing "inhumanity and a lack of empathy". There was no immediate response from the ruling TDP.

VIJAYAWADA: The Annadata Sukhibhava–PM-Kisan scheme, launched by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday at Veerayapalem village in Darsi mandal of Prakasam district, achieved a 99.98% success rate in disbursing financial assistance to 44.75 lakh eligible farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), according to data from the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS). Director of Agriculture S Dilli Rao said that only 1,067 accounts failed to receive funds. The Chief Minister's Office lauded the Agriculture Department for collecting high-quality farmer data within a short timeframe. Around 1 lakh farmers were excluded due to the Model Code of Conduct being in effect in certain areas, as per State Election Commission guidelines. Another 1 lakh accounts were withheld due to being inactive or having unmapped NPCI linkages. A grievance module will be activated from August 3 to allow rejected beneficiaries to raise concerns. Dilli Rao thanked farmers, public representatives, collectors, and officials for their cooperation.

VIJAYAWADA: The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department has launched an intensive campaign to enforce financial discipline and strengthen revenue sustainability across Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the State. Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar held a state-level video conference with all Municipal Commissioners, urging greater accountability in financial operations. ULBs were directed to improve collections of property tax and vacant land tax, and to explore Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models to reduce dependence on state funds. Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration, P Sampath Kumar, presented a financial health report for 2024–25, helping ULBs assess budget performance and prioritise essential services. Solid waste management, door-to-door garbage collection, and scientific waste disposal were identified as key focus areas to enhance urban livability. The review flagged substantial tax arrears, including Rs 1,680 crore from Central government entities, Rs 962 crore from State departments, Rs 1,860 crore in vacant land tax, and Rs 978 crore entangled in court cases. Major defaulters include Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (Rs 1,362 crore) and AP Transco (Rs 2.56 crore). Commissioners were instructed to serve notices within a week, publicise defaulter lists and initiate recovery processes. The department reaffirmed CM -monitored targets, including 100% household tap connections by 2029 and achieving plastic-free status in 17 ULBs by October 2025. ULB performance is being tracked via a real-time digital dashboard, with top-performing bodies to be recognised quarterly.
