Police seek public help after fatal accident in Bukit Beruntung
The collision left one man dead and another severely injured.
Hulu Selangor acting OCPD Deputy Supt Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said the accident occurred sometime before 9.30pm on Saturday (April 26) and was reported to the Hulu Selangor District Police Headquarters at that time.
He said early investigations found that a car travelling from Gombak towards Bukit Beruntung, collided with an oncoming car that veered into its lane.
The driver of one of the cars was a 23-year-old man who was confirmed dead at the scene after the Fire and Rescue Department extricated him from his vehicle.
'His body was then taken to the Forensic Unit at Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
'Meanwhile, the 29-year-old driver of the other car was taken to the Red Zone at Selayang Hospital due to his internal injuries.
'The public are requested to come forward with any information related to this accident to assist in the investigation,' he said in a press statement on Sunday (April 27).
He added that the case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Johor EDL wrong-way driver faces action [WATCH]
JOHOR BARU: A 19-year-old student drove against traffic for nearly five minutes on the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) highway before realising her mistake and turning back yesterday . Johor Baru (South) police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said the woman was caught on video at 10.30am near the Sultan Iskandar Building exit. Footage showed her vehicle moving against oncoming traffic as motorists honked and flashed their headlights. "She was en route to the city centre and had entered the EDL northbound carriageway through a bus lane. "She only realised the error after several vehicles alerted her. Fortunately, no accident occurred," he said in a statement today. The woman, who tested negative for alcohol and drugs, is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving. The offence is punishable by up to five syears' jail and a fine of between RM5,000 and RM15,000. Raub warned that reckless driving is a serious offence and said firm action would be taken against anyone endangering public safety.

'When the car reached the bus lane in the area, the driver went against the traffic flow and entered the northbound lane of the EDL Highway. "He then continued driving for nearly five minutes until he realised he had taken the wrong lane,' he said in a statement on Tuesday. Fortunately, no collisions occurred during the incident. Raub confirmed that both the student's urine and alcohol screening tests returned negative results. The case is now being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving. Raub stressed that reckless driving is a serious offence.
