Chiefs vs. Cardinals: Chris Roland-Wallace picks off Clayton Tune in preseason debut
Despite a lackluster showing by Kansas City's offense, the Chiefs' defensive depth defense has been keeping Arizona's air attack at bay throughout the game.
Rising defensive back Chris Roland-Wallace, who recovered a fumble during the contest's opening kickoff, came down with a nifty interception on an errant throw by Cardinals quarterback Clayton Tune early in the third quarter, which helped Kansas City build some much-needed momentum.
Take a look at this video of Roland-Wallace's dazzling interception, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs' official account:
Roland-Wallace's impressive pick will surely ingratiate him with head coach Andy Reid and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who are sure to have taken notice of his outstanding performance against the Cardinals.
Stay tuned to see if Roland-Wallace and the rest of Kansas City's defense can continue to play at a high level and deliver the Chiefs their first win of the preseason.

New Heights' YouTube glitch raises concerns about Chiefs-Chargers in Week 1
Whenever the NFL migrates to a new streaming platform, concerns emerge as to whether it will work. As it relates to the upcoming Week 1 game to be streamed for free on YouTube, a concern has emerged as to whether it will work. As noted by Chris Bumbaca of USA Today, a glitch in the live stream of megastar Taylor Swift's visit to the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce has raised the question of whether Chiefs-Chargers, which happens three weeks from tonight, will support 20 million or more concurrent streams. The New Heights stream abruptly ended with 15 minutes left in show. While it was resolved, it's fair to ask whether there will be any outages during Chiefs-Chargers. A Google spokesperson told Bumbaca that the New Heights glitch was not a YouTube issue. While there's nothing wrong with being concerned, it would be a surprise if the game doesn't stream without issue. Netflix's Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight has significant issues. Six weeks later, a pair of Christmas games on Netflix worked without incident. YouTube knows what it needs. And the league wouldn't have been inclined to make a bet with YouTube if the NFL wasn't sure YouTube could deliver. We'll find out in 21 days.

It is not at all shocking that Taylor Swift appearing on the "New Heights" podcast with Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce broke all kinds of records. In fact, there were over one million people watching the episode when it premiered. More news: Taylor Swift Hilariously Addresses 'Male Sports Fans' in 'New Heights' Intro What probably surprised most people is that Swift exercised the knowledge she has of the game of football, including rifling off defensive coverages that led to Travis being shocked. Now, the Kansas City Chiefs are commenting on the sheer impact that the pop phenom has had on the team. Chiefs owner Clark Hunt joined "The Pat McAfee Show" where he talked about being proud of the relationship between Swift and Kelce, and what it has meant for the team, including the massive change in fandom that she has caused. "We're so happy for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.. They're an amazing couple and watching the two of them together is really special.. There has absolutely been a Taylor Swift effect to the Chiefs Kingdom" ~ Clark Hunt #PMSLive — Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) August 15, 2025 "We're so happy for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift ... They're an amazing couple and watching the two of them together is really special ...," Hunt stated. Hunt also revealed that Swift has led to a dramatic shift in fandom for the Chiefs. YouTube "She's done an amazing job, unintentionally, of increasing our female fanbase. We used to be about a 50/50 ratio of male to female fanbase. Now, 57 percent of our fans are female, which I think is probably the highest in the National Football League. There has absolutely been a Taylor Swift effect," Hunt added. When the word got around that Swift and Kelce were dating, the pair began to show up in public places, and then the pop superstar began to appear at games. The telecast would cut to her cheering in a suite next to Donna Kelce, and she would be shown multiple times, much to the chagrin of fans everywhere. Even before the podcast was released, Swift poked fun at the "male sports fans" who would have to see her on their timelines and feeds even more. Now, she has received huge praise from the Chiefs' owner and a positive stamp of approval on what her fandom has led to. NFL fans might be tired of seeing her, but it sounds as if there will be more Swift coverage happening in the 2025 season. For more on the Chiefs and NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.

Patrick Mahomes Haters Will Love This Scathing Chiefs Prediction
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have been dominating the NFL for over a half-decade now, making five Super Bowl appearances and winning three championships across the last six seasons. However, this past February, the Chiefs ran into a major roadblock. Kansas City was absolutely hammered by the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, as Mahomes was battered behind his team's shaky offensive line all night and the Eagles' offense punctured what had been a stout Chiefs defense. More news: Chiefs Get Major Update on Rashee Rice's Looming Suspension For the first time in a while, Kansas City showed some considerable vulnerability, and it has many wondering about whether or not the Chiefs will be able to make another Super Bowl run this coming season. Well, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith doesn't seem to envision a trip to San Francisco in February for Kansas City, noting that he feels the Chiefs' reign of terror may have come to an end. Photo by Aaron J. Thornton/Getty Images "They've been pretty dominant," Smith said on First Take. "At some point in time, people are saying it's got to end, and I think this is the year that it does." Outside of the Cincinnati Bengals making the Super Bowl during the 2021-22 campaign, Kansas City has been top dog in the AFC for quite some time now. The Chiefs have long had an aura of invincibility surrounding them, and that was on full display last season when they managed to go 15-2 in spite of the fact that they could have just as easily been something like 10-7. Much of Kansas City's success in 2025 will hinge on the status of wide receiver Rashee Rice, who will be eligible to play in Weeks 1-4, but may be facing a lengthy suspension afterward due to legal issues. It's also important to note that Rice is coming off a torn ACL. That places that much more pressure upon fellow receivers Marquise Brown (who missed most of last season) and Xavier Worthy to step up, and rookie wideout Jalen Royals may have a significant role, as well. More News: Rashee Rice In Danger of Being Replaced as Patrick Mahomes' No. 1 WR The question is whether or not any team in the AFC West is ready to dethrone Kansas City. The Los Angeles Chargers probably have the best chance, but they still seem to be a couple of pieces away. As far as the rest of the conference goes, the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills will comprise legitimate threats, as per usual, and the Pittsburgh Steelers could also represent a scary ballclub depending on how Aaron Rodgers looks.
