It is not at all shocking that Taylor Swift appearing on the "New Heights" podcast with Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce broke all kinds of records. In fact, there were over one million people watching the episode when it premiered.

What probably surprised most people is that Swift exercised the knowledge she has of the game of football, including rifling off defensive coverages that led to Travis being shocked.
Now, the Kansas City Chiefs are commenting on the sheer impact that the pop phenom has had on the team.
Chiefs owner Clark Hunt joined "The Pat McAfee Show" where he talked about being proud of the relationship between Swift and Kelce, and what it has meant for the team, including the massive change in fandom that she has caused.
"We're so happy for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift..
They're an amazing couple and watching the two of them together is really special..

"We're so happy for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift ... They're an amazing couple and watching the two of them together is really special ...," Hunt stated.
Hunt also revealed that Swift has led to a dramatic shift in fandom for the Chiefs.

"She's done an amazing job, unintentionally, of increasing our female fanbase. We used to be about a 50/50 ratio of male to female fanbase. Now, 57 percent of our fans are female, which I think is probably the highest in the National Football League. There has absolutely been a Taylor Swift effect," Hunt added.
When the word got around that Swift and Kelce were dating, the pair began to show up in public places, and then the pop superstar began to appear at games. The telecast would cut to her cheering in a suite next to Donna Kelce, and she would be shown multiple times, much to the chagrin of fans everywhere.
Even before the podcast was released, Swift poked fun at the "male sports fans" who would have to see her on their timelines and feeds even more.

NFL fans might be tired of seeing her, but it sounds as if there will be more Swift coverage happening in the 2025 season.

These 5 Chiefs were injured during Kansas City's preseason loss to the Seattle Seahawks

The Kansas City Chiefs were unable to escape their preseason loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a clean injury report. According to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, five Chiefs players sustained injuries in the game, including former first-round pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah and rookie defensive back Nohl Williams. Among the others mentioned by Reid were veterans Mike Edwards, Jack Cochrane, and Nazeeh Johnson, all of whom were members of the Kansas City's Super Bowl LVIII roster. While the exact nature of the players' injuries is unknown, Chiefs Senior Team Reporter Matt McMullen shared a brief update on their status in a post to Twitter after Friday's game: Injuries are to be expected in the preseason, but with just weeks remaining before Kansas City's Week 1 kickoff against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil, the Chiefs can't afford to be without any of their top players. Stay tuned for more information about Kansas City's injuries as more information becomes available postgame.

NFL Reporter Laura Rutledge Reacts to Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift News on Monday

NFL Reporter Laura Rutledge Reacts to Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift News on Monday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The NFL preseason is fully underway, but off the field, news broke on Monday that had everything to do with one of the game's best tight ends of one of the best teams in the league. Travis Kelce, the star tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs, will finally have his girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift, on his "New Heights" podcast after months of fans' demand. The two have one of the most high-profile relationships, not just in the NFL but in all of sports and entertainment, even though some football fans find the attention it has attracted annoying. Kelce and Swift recently announced that the pop superstar will make an appearance by posting a teaser video on Instagram. NFL reporter Terry Rutledge couldn't contain her excitement over the news. 'OMGGGGGGGGGG,' Rutledge commented on Instagram. Rutledge Has Become a Big Figure in Sports Journalism In recent years, more and more women have been dominating sports reporting, and Rutledge has been all over the place when it comes to football. She started as a sideline reporter for Fox Sports, covering the network's broadcast of Tampa Bay Rays games and subsequently San Diego Padres contests. In 2013, she hosted "Chargers Insider," a show covering the then-San Diego Chargers. A year later, Rutledge started hosting halftime and postgame shows for Fox's coverage of college football. She became the host of the SEC Network's "SEC Nation" in 2017, and in 2020, she started hosting "NFL Live" on ESPN. Kelce and Swift Are the NFL's Resident Celebrity Couple The relationship between Kelce and Swift reportedly began in the summer of 2023, when Kelce shared during an episode of "New Heights" that he tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet, but he also clarified it didn't lead to anything then. Early in the 2023 season, he said on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he invited Swift to a Chiefs game. She then attended their Week 3 home contest against the Chicago Bears, and the two were seen riding off in Kelce's convertible afterward. The following week, Swift was at MetLife Stadium when Kansas City visited the New York Jets. Things snowballed from there, and before long, the two were confirmed to be dating. Plenty of football fans have complained about the attention Swift has gotten during telecasts of Chiefs games, which included camera shots of her sitting in the luxury suite at Arrowhead Stadium. But she has apparently brought in more fans and higher ratings for the NFL, which isn't exactly a bad thing. The Chiefs went on to win their third Super Bowl championship in five years by escaping the San Francisco 49ers at the end of the 2023 season. They lost decisively in last season's big game to the Philadelphia Eagles, and with plenty counting them out for 2025, they could end up having a chip on their shoulders once Week 1 story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 12, 2025, where it first appeared.

Titans edge Falcons 23-20

ATLANTA (AP) — Kendell Brooks scored on a 53-yard interception return and rookie quarterback Cameron Ward had mixed results as the Tennessee Titans beat the Atlanta Falcons 23-20 in a preseason game Friday night. Joey Slye's 23-yard field goal with 9:03 remaining gave Tennessee (1-1) the lead. Falcons backup quarterback Emory Jones was stopped on a fourth-down run near the Tennessee 20 with 2:57 remaining. Jones was shaken up on the hit by linebacker Amari Burney and cornerback Jemari Harris. Jones walked off the field with assistance. Ward played three series and completed 2 of 7 passes for 42 yards. Ward's highlight was a 35-yard completion to Elic Ayomanor on the Titans' opening series. Ward, the No. 1 overall pick in this year's NFL draft, had another long pass dropped by Van Jefferson. The teams traded third-quarter touchdowns. Jemar Jefferson's 16-yard scoring run, which capped a 13-play drive, gave the Titans a 20-13 lead. Easton Stick, who played the first three quarters for Atlanta, threw a 52-yard scoring pass to Chris Blair to tie the game. Brandon Allen, who played behind Ward, threw a 25-yard scoring pass to tight end Gunnar Helm late in the first half. Nathan Carter produced the Falcons' first touchdown with a 43-yard run in the third quarter. Younghoe Koo kicked field goals of 42 and 36 yards for Atlanta (0-2). SEAHAWKS 33, CHIEFS 16 SEATTLE (AP) — Sam Darnold looked the part of a franchise quarterback in his first appearance at Lumen Field as Seattle beat Kansas City. Darnold, who did not appear in the Seattle Seahawks' preseason opener against the Las Vegas Raiders, completed 4 of 4 passes for 34 yards on the opening drive. Darnold, who signed to a three-year, $100.5 million contract with Seattle in the offseason, made good use of both his legs and his tight ends during his sole series. He had no issues rolling out to either his left or right, locating tight ends AJ Barner and Elijah Arroyo for short passes, as well as fullback Robbie Ouzts and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba for deeper completions. Backup quarterback Drew Lock impressed in relief of Darnold, throwing a couple of touchdown passes to wide receiver Jake Bobo, and completing 10 of 12 passes for 129 yards. Running backs Zach Charbonnet and Damien Martinez each added touchdowns on the ground in the first and third quarters, respectively. The Chiefs, meanwhile, did not play quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and other starters from the team that fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in last season's Super Bowl. Backup quarterback Gardner Minshew found tight end Robert Tonyan for a 1-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter.
