Victoria Beckham drops capsule collection with Mideast retailer
DUBAI: British fashion designer and singer Victoria Beckham hosted an intimate dinner in Dubai this week with some of the city's leading style influencers to celebrate her exclusive capsule collection with Middle Eastern online luxury retailer Ounass.

The collaboration includes a dedicated pop-up at the Ounass Maison, located in Dubai's Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Jumeirah.
It features a curated selection of Spring/Summer 2025 pieces, including designs created specifically for the Middle East. The collection is also available online.

'So excited to be here in Dubai to celebrate my capsule for @ounass,' she wrote on Instagram. 'Coming here and seeing how Emirati women are wearing my clothes and making them their own brings me so much joy.'
The dinner was attended by several fashion influencers, including Karen Wazen, her sister Andrea Wazen, Dima Al-Sheikhly, Dana Hourani, Sossi Wartanian, Jessica Kahawaty, Deema Al-Asadi and Rym Saidi.
Guests posed for photos with Beckham, who wore a shiny silver-white satin dress featuring a one-shoulder design, soft draping across the bodice, and a gathered detail at the hip that flowed into an asymmetrical hem. She completed the look with clear pointed heels.

Beckham attended the event with her youngest daughter, Harper Seven, 13, who matched her mother in a sleek, floor-length satin gown in a light silver shade.
Harper's dress featured thin spaghetti straps, a straight neckline, and a smooth, fitted silhouette. She completed the look with a black clutch.
Victoria was not the only member of the Beckham household making fashion headlines this week.
Her husband, football legend David Beckham, is also making a foray into the fashion world with the announcement of a major new collaboration.

In Spring/Summer 2025, BOSS will launch 'BECKHAM x BOSS,' the brand's first collection co-designed with David.
The pieces will draw inspiration from the star's personal style, and promises to blend modern tailoring with heritage influences.
'We have been very much looking forward to this launch and are more than excited to see how these pieces are received by our end consumers,' said Daniel Grieder, CEO of Hugo Boss, in a statement.
'This collection is based on our strategic priority that product is key and our goal to seamlessly dress our customers for every occasion with our brands.'

Teen TikTok star shot dead after man broke into her home
ISLAMABAD — A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Pakistan and confessed to the murder of 17-year-old social media influencer Sana Yousaf, according to police. Authorities say they believe Umar Hayat murdered Ms Yousaf at her home in Islamabad on Monday after she rejected what they called his "offers of friendship". He allegedly also repeatedly tried and failed, to meet her. They say he broke into her home, fired two shots, stole her phone and fled. Ms Yousaf's father, Syed Yousaf Hassan, told the BBC she was his only daughter and was "very brave". Her family have gathered in Chitral, where Ms Yousaf has been buried. Yousaf said she had never mentioned Hayat, nor any threatening behavior, before she was killed. He said Ms Yousaf's aunt was at the family home when the suspect broke in, and that he had also threatened to shoot her before fleeing. Ms Yousaf died before she could be taken to the hospital. Police said the "brutal" murder caused "a wave of concern" across the country, and that there was "immense" pressure to find the killer. They raided locations across the capital and the province of Punjab and scanned footage from 113 CCTV cameras. The suspected murder weapon and Ms Yousaf's phone have since been recovered. Ms Yousaf already had a wide following in Pakistan, with half a million fans on Instagram before her death. Condolences have flooded her social media pages. Her TikTok account gained hundreds of thousands of followers overnight, and now stands at more than a million. Her last video on Instagram, posted last week, showed her surrounded by balloons and cutting a cake for her birthday. Given her high profile in Pakistan, news of Ms Yousaf's death spread quickly in local news media and on social media platforms. It's also ignited a fierce debate about women on social media. While many have shared their outrage at news of Ms Yousaf's death, there has also been backlash towards her work as an influencer. Digital rights advocacy group Bolo Bhi has been monitoring the online reaction, and its director Usama Khilji said such criticism had been coming from a small portion of mostly male internet users - some of whom have cited religious grounds. "They're asking why she was putting up all this content, and even suggesting the family should take down her Instagram and TikTok accounts because they add to her 'sins'," Mr Khilji explained. Dr Farzana Bari, a prominent human rights activist, argued the reaction is "misogynistic" and "patriarchal". She said Ms Yousaf had "her own voice", and that the discourse online is a reminder that social media has become a "very threatening place for female content creators" in Pakistan. The Inspector General of Police for Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, said women who choose to become social media influencers "deserve our encouragement and support". He added Ms Yousaf's murder was "tragic". Dr Bari said authorities condemning the incident publicly was a positive sign that could lead to change. Deborra-Lee Furness describes 'betrayal' amid Hugh Jackman divorce
NEW YORK — Australian actress Deborra-Lee Furness has said her "compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal", after filing for divorce from her husband Hugh Jackman. In a statement released to media, Furness, 69, said: "It's a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe... is always working FOR us." The couple filed for divorce in New York on 23 May. They announced their separation in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage. Hugh Jackman, best known for playing Wolverine in the X-men film series, has not responded directly to Furness's statement. Furness said that she had gained "much knowledge and wisdom" from the "breakdown" of her marriage to Jackman, 56. "Sometimes the universe has to create arduous circumstances for us to walk through in order to find our way home, back to our true essence and the sovereignty of self love." "It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom," she added, in the statement first issued to the Daily Mail. When Furness and Jackman announced their separation in 2023, the couple issued a joint statement which they said was "the sole statement either of us will make". "Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth... We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness," they said at the time.
