Blake Lively has been accused of trying to "harass and intimidate" a YouTuber.
Content creator Lauren Neidigh, who posts under the username LethalLauren904 has sought a protective order against the former Gossip Girl star after the 37-year-old actress attempted to subpoena her as part of her legal battle with It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni, who she is suing for sexual harassment and retaliation.
Lauren slammed the subpoenas that Blake's team had sent to Google and X in an attempt to gain information, even though the one against her had been dropped, Us Weekly reports.
The YouTuber claimed she had tried to speak to Blake's lawyers but they were "largely unresponsive" and could not explain why her banking information was relevant to the case.
She wrote in a letter to the judge: "[Lively's] Subpoena targeted creators who have expressed unfavourable opinions about her online. The Subpoena was not supported by any evidence.
"It served to intimidate, harass, chill constitutionally protected free speech, and threaten the safety and privacy of non-parties who are not involved in this litigation."
And though the Another Simple Favor star had dropped the subpoena, she left it open-ended, meaning it could still be reissued in the future, which Lauren argued placed "an undue burden on [her] and [served] to harass and intimidate [her] for her lawful expression of her unfavourable opinions of [Lively] online."
The content creator requested a protective order prohibiting Blake from issuing any further subpoenas for her information due to the "ongoing threat" of "further abusive discovery requests" down the line, which she argued were designed to "intimidate" her for her "lawful expression".
She also asked for sanctions.
The subpoenas had sought information on the accounts of several content creators, including financial detail on some of them, with Lauren, Kassidy O'Connell and others opposing the legal demands, insisting Blake had no authority to obtain their private information.
At the time, the actress' representative insisted the requests were not "accusations of wrongdoing" but simply "tools for gathering admissible evidence in federal court."
The spokesperson added: "There is no silencing of content creators, they are obviously making their views known. This is a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Justin Baldoni and a number of other Wayfarer defendants and we are simply seeking information to aid in our fact gathering.
"Remember [Baldoni's crisis PR rep's] own words: to shield Justin Baldoni from the possibility that Blake Lively might publicly reveal he sexually harassed her and others, [Baldoni's rep] planned an 'untraceable' media campaign designed to 'bury' Ms. Lively.
"The subpoenas to social media companies are one piece of the puzzle to connect the evidentiary dots of a campaign that was designed to leave no fingerprints."
Days later, the investigation into Lauren, Kassidy, and a third social media star was dropped but Blake is still in the process of gathering information on other content creators who had spoken about her and Justin, who she has alleged arranged a smear campaign in retaliation for her complaining about his conduct on the set of It Ends With Us.
Justin has denied the allegations against him.

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt Buys LA Mansion Bigger Than the White House for $110M

Eric Schmidt, the former Google CEO, has hit the headlines by purchasing a mansion bigger than the White House and one of the seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal, in California, USA, for the price of $110 million. The sprawling property, located in the Holmby Hills neighborhood, covers 56,500 square feet and sits on nearly five acres of land. The property was originally built by television producer Aaron Spelling in 1990. X The mansion has had several owners one after another after that, with Schmidt as the most recent one. The recent sale has been one of the most expensive real estate deals in the US this year. Drew Fenton, CEO of Beverly Hills-based Carolwood Estates, represented the seller and broke the news on social media. Fenton also stated that this is the priciest market deal, along with one more Bel-Air property, this year. Eric Schmidt, who was Google's CEO from 2001 to 2011 and executive chairman from 2011 to 2015, has an estimated net worth of $25.5 billion. He and his wife plan to rename the estate "594," which refers to its address, Drew Fenton, CEO of Beverly Hills-based Carolwood Estates. The property was earlier known as Drew Fenton, CEO of Beverly Hills-based Carolwood Estates. While the price of the mansion sounds to be too high, the Schmidts have got it on a discounted rate, as it was once listed for $137.5 million after a long time on the market. In 2019 British heiress Petra Ecclestone, daughter of Formula One's Bernie Ecclestone, had purchased it for $120 million. The property has 14 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms, along with luxurious amenities like a two-lane bowling alley, a large wine cellar, a beauty salon with massage and tanning rooms, and a 20-seat screening room with massage and tanning rooms. It also has a 20-seat screening room with a 60-foot screen that retracts into the floor. It also includes a tennis court and a swimming pool built with 170,000 individual glass tiles. Schmidt and his wife plan to use the mansion for non-profit events and social gatherings linked to Los Angeles' cultural and charitable institutions. The couple also plans to renovate the property to make it more energy efficient. The home was constructed at the peak of Aaron Spelling's career when he produced hit TV shows like Charlie's Angels, Beverly Hills 90210, and Charmed. Now, in the hands of a tech billionaire, it differs and moves into another era: a mash-up of its glamorous past and vision for something very modern.

Angela Lin: Google Engineer Tragically Dies in Freak Accident While Hiking with Boyfriend at Yosemite National Park

A 29-year-old software engineer from Google was killed her life in a freak accident at Yosemite National Park earlier this month when a massive branch from a giant sequoia tree fell and hit her on the head. Angela Lin, a software engineer with nearly six years of experience at Salesforce and later Google, was hiking on July 19 with her boyfriend and two other friends along a trail that passed through the Tuolumne Grove, known for its towering sequoias. Suddenly, a loud cracking noise was heard from above — and within a few seconds, multiple branches from one of the enormous trees came crashing down, according to Lin's boyfriend, David Hua. Tragic Death Angela Lin LinkedIn "One big branch struck Angela, and then there were a bunch of smaller ones directly behind me," Hua told SFGate. Hua said that as the branches came crashing down, he instantly shut his eyes — and when he opened them again, he saw Lin lying on her back, blood pooling around her head. "It was just unimaginable that something like this could occur," Hua said over the phone with a shaky voice, according to SFGate. "On such a popular trail, too." After Lin's death, Tuolumne Grove—the area where she and her group had been hiking—was closed to the public for nearly a week. Scott Gediman, Yosemite's public affairs officer, told SFGate that the incident remains under investigation. Hua shared that Lin's family and friends have struggled to get additional information from the park service, and their growing frustration has led them to speak out through the media. "We are seeking more information from the park service regarding this incident, especially around trail safety, maintenance and awareness of problematic trees on popular trails, and future prevention of similar incidents," Hua said. Out of the Blue Angela Lin Facebook Traumatized bystanders have also been desperately seeking updates about Lin, with one person even creating a Reddit thread titled "Tuolumne Grove Incident 7/19" in an effort to learn if she had survived. "I am a tourist, but was on the scene of an extremely tragic freak accident in the area trying to provide [aid], and it has been haunting me. I can't stop thinking about it and can't find any news articles updating about the situation," the user wrote in a post on the Reddit thread. "It hits so so hard because they were doing nothing wrong or careless... Life can be so cruel." Although uncommon, Yosemite has seen several tragic fatal accidents over the years. Last summer, college student Grace Rohloff tragically fell 200 feet to her death from the Half Dome cables during a storm, moments after telling her father, "Dad, my shoes are so slippery." In October of the same year, 22-year-old Australian hiker Harry Partington was fatally crushed by a falling tree while on the park's Four Mile Trail, which links Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point. Back in August 2015, two high school students lost their lives when an oak tree branch fell on their tent while they were sleeping.
