Rod Stewart to receive Lifetime Achievement Award
Sir Rod Stewart is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs).
The 'Maggie May' hitmaker - who will play the world-famous Glastonbury Festival's Sunday afternoon legends slot in June - will collect the accolade and perform one of his "timeless classics" at the bash.
A statement from executive producers Barry Adelman, EVP, Television, and Alexi Mazareas, SVP, Programming and Development, Dick Clark Productions read: "Sir Rod Stewart is a master showman whose charisma and energy have defied time and embody the very spirit of rock and roll.
"We are looking forward to another epic performance on the AMAs stage as well as celebrating his incredible body of work when he receives the Lifetime Achievement Award."
It will mark Rod's first performance at the AMAs since 2004.
Rod has sold more than 120 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time.
Elsewhere, Janet Jackson will be bestowed with the Icon Award.
As well as being honoured with the prize in recognition of her "undeniable cultural and global influence," Janet will be taking to the stage at the ceremony on May 26 - in what marks her first TV performance in seven years.
The 58-year-old music star reacted on Instagram: "Thank you so much, AMAs!! It's an honor. We look forward to being on your stage again. See you in Vegas! (sic)"
The 'Rhythm Nation' hitmaker follows in the footsteps of the likes of Rihanna and Lionel Richie.
The 2025 AMAs take place at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas and will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez.
Kendrick Lamar dominated the nominations with 10.

Kate Moss has tapped into her love of music to launch a new Festival Collection for Zara . The supermodel teamed with the high street giant last year to release her first Kate Moss x Zara collection and now she's back with a second range which is themed around music festivals and features Moss in a campaign alongside Primal Scream legend Bobby Gillespie, who is married to the collection's co-designer - stylist Katy England. The festival collection also features menswear pieces. The advertising campaign also features Gillespie's model son, Lux, 21, and Moss' 22-year-old daughter, Lila. The collection launches online and in stores on June 10. Moss spoke about the collection to and insisted she never pre-plans her outfits - especially when it comes to clothes she wears to festivals. She told the outlet: "Planned outfits never work for me. I don't do that ... I just think overly thought-out outfits are a bit … for a festival? "When I look at Coachella I just think … are they even having fun?" Kate previously included a silver dress inspired by an outfit she wore to Glastonbury Festival in 2005 in her last collection for Zara. It comes after Kate admitted she hates fashion "trends" because she can't stand seeing the same "shoe and bag" in every shop. During an appearance on Bella Freud's 'Fashion Neurosis' podcast, she explained: "I hate fashion codes. I hate like: 'Oh this bag's in fashion so everybody designs the same f****** bag.' I hate that kind of thing. Like oh this is fashionable so everybody has to have that in their shop. I really don't like that. "Like I walked through the airport the other day and in every shop was the same shoe and the same bag from like every designer. I was like: 'What the f*** is the point in doing that?' I don't understand ... "They might put it on the runway different but when it gets to the shop it's all the same. Like why? It's not fun when it's fashionable. "You know like the trends. Rod Stewart cancels second Las Vegas concert due to ill health
The Maggie May rocker dropped out of his performance in Sin City a few hours before taking to the stage on Sunday due to ill health, and has now cancelled his upcoming show on Thursday to give him more time to recover. Explaining the reason for the decision, the 80-year-old wrote on Instagram… "I'm awfully sorry to have to cancel my show June 5th at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding (heartbroken emoji).'

Sir Rod Stewart has been "ordered" to "rest" after being struck with the flu ahead of his Glastonbury set. Thanks for your love and understanding." The June 1 concert received the new date of June 10. He said in a social media statement: "I am sorry to inform you that I'm not feeling well and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10. Your tickets will be valid for the new date." In a matter of weeks (29.06.25), the rock star is due to play the Sunday afternoon legends slot at the world-famous music festival in Somerset, south west England. Last month, Rod was seen with a sign around his neck informing anyone he came into contact with that he could not speak after his concert at Milan's Unipol Forum. It read: 'Sorry. Cannot talk. Having vocal rest.' He returned to the stage at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal, three days later on May 13.
