April Rose Pengilly can't wipe the smile off her face as she shows off her massive diamond engagement ring at Easter Show

Daily Mail22-04-2025
April Rose Pengilly flaunted her enormous diamond engagement ring at the Sydney Royal Easter Show on Sunday, as the countdown to her wedding begins.
The 37-year-old announced her engagement to her fiancé Adam Paul in December 2023.
In a carousel of photos and videos shared to Instagram on Monday, the Neighbours actress made sure to position her hefty sparkler in view of the camera as she sipped on a fresh lemonade beside Adam.
'BEST DAY OF THE YEAR,' the petite blonde captioned the extensive footage of her outing at the Sydney Olympic Park.
April wore a leopard print sundress, a pair of white sneakers, and carried a brown and black Fendi purse.
She kept her accessories to a minimum, adding only an oversized pair of Banbee sunglasses and small earrings.
The couple had been together for just under two years when Adam popped the question.
On hand to join the celebration was April's father, INXS vocalist, saxophonist and guitarist Kirk Pengilly, 65.
The proud papa kissed his daughter on the cheek in one image as the pair posed alongside a stunning waterway.
The star was also accompanied by her mother, Karen Hutchinson, with the trio embracing for sweet photos.
Details of the upcoming nuptials have been scarce so far, with April saying last month that clothes shopping had taken priority over wedding planning.
'Starting to look for my future groom's suit,' she captioned an Instagram post in March.
'Honestly we're doing a lot more outfit shopping than wedding planning. Priorities innit.'
Three weeks ago, April began her 'bridal skincare journey.'
She is undergoing a series of pre-wedding skincare treatments at Jacqueline Brennan, including collagen remodeling RF microneedling.
'Work has officially begun on a wedding dress,' she teased in March, sharing an image of three different wedding gowns on coat hangers.
Her mum attended the fitting.
In July 2022, April paid tribute to Adam on the couple's six month anniversary.
'Six months. He is so kind, clever, fun, funny, silly, caring and thoughtful.' she wrote.
'I have had one of the most stressful and unstable years of my life, but he has been there through it all, helping me and supporting me and treating me like a princess.
'Sometimes I feel guilty that he's all mine and other people don't get to have him as their boyfriend because he is so wonderful and I am so lucky. Happy anniversary.'
April has forged a career for herself as an actress and television star with her father previously saying she didn't 'want to live off my coat- tails'.

People say this social media habit is 'weird' — but you're probably guilty of it

A new rule has been added to the book of social media etiquette, and honestly, we feel called out. We're all guilty of following an Instagram account or two, just to be nosy. Maybe it's that girl who was popular at school, or that ex boyfriend youlove to hate on. And, so as not to be branded a lurker, you reply to their stories with a simple 'like'. That little heart symbol dances across the screen, and you can rest easy, knowing you're a nice person. Right? Wrong. 'I'm just now finding out that we aren't supposed to like people's IG stories,' wrote LA-based comedian Joey Pleasants on Threads. 'Some people think it's a form of flirting.' There's long been discussion about 'soft-cheating', which refers to the betrayal grey areas that technology brings; things like interacting with posts from Instagram models, subscribing to people's OnlyFans, or watching porn behind your partner's back. And now, liking an Instagram story has been firmly added to the list of shady social media behaviour you must avoid. One commenter had been burnt before, saying: 'My girl's friend complained to her that I was liking their stories, apparently it's weird.' X Factor icon Diana Vickers and Metro's dating expert Alice Giddings dive into your wildest sex, love, and dating dilemmas – every Tuesday. Listen wherever you get your podcasts or watch on YouTube. And be sure to follow and subscribe so you never miss an episode. You can also join the fun on our WhatsApp Group Chat here – share your dilemmas and Diana and Alice may just give you a call. When commenters on Joey's thread questioned why liking a story is such a crime, user Mikayla Schmitt summed it up for everyone. 'You're not supposed to like people's stories if you're in a relationship and the person's story you're liking is a person you find attractive/have an Internet crush on.' She also added: 'The photo could be inappropriate for a person in a relationship to be liking.' It might sound trivial, but 34% of people have ended a relationship due to something happening on social media. But while a story like might seem like nothing to some, for others' it could be a big deal. Nia Williams, founder of relationship coaching service Miss Date Doctor, previously told Metro: 'While physical infidelity is more easily defined… online connections can also be considered cheating, depending on the couple's boundaries and values.' Although one partner may see their online activity as 'curiosity or harmless fun,' Nia advises couples need to discuss how they'll naviage online interactions — including liking a persons' story. She adds: 'Have a heartfelt conversation with your partner where you can express your concerns, establish clear boundaries, and work together to find compromises that honour your relationship values.' If this is you, you're not alone. Many of the commenters on Joey's post admitted to liking stories with reckless abandon — and have recieved likes they can almost guarantee aren't flirtatious. 'Most of my followers are women older than my mother, and they like my stories. Pretty sure Debbie, Barbara, Cheryl, Susan, Linda, Pamela, Lisa, and Patricia aren't flirting with me,' wrote Brandy Simpson. More Trending 'Like what you like. It's why you follow people in the first place — because you like what they do. Let them know. Never waste an opportunity to make someone else feel good.' 'F**k that,' said another. 'Cute aesthetic pic? Heart. You said something funny? Heart. You look pretty? Heart. Food looks yummy? Heart. Idgaf.' Others called themselves 'story-liking goblins' and 'whores' when it came to liking their friends Instagram stories. View More » 'I'm like someone's great aunt on FB,' wrote Asia. 'If I see you having a grand time, looking great, or enjoying life, I'm going to like it. Far too people don't get hyped up and loved on. And in a world where we live at a distance, people need it.' Strictly's Vicky Pattison proves feud with Sam Thompson is over as she poses with star after finally unblocking him

Vicky's years-long feud with fellow reality TV alum Sam Thompson is no secret. But they've also clashed a number of times in the past. It all kicked off in 2017 when Geordie Shore legend Vicky criticised Sam's sister, Louise Thompson, over her working out on holiday. Made In Chelsea star Sam then hit back in a video of his own, saying only he was allowed to mock his sister. The war of words quickly escalated and Vicky responded by blocking Sam on social media – a block that would last for five years. But clearly putting that feud behind them, the pair now looked in great spirits as they posed for a photo together. Vicky took to social media to share a carousel of images with people she's 'grateful' for. The reality star penned to her millions of followers: 'There's been a lot to smile about recently... but mostly, it's the people in my life I feel grateful for you 🥹🩷 'Tag the people you're grateful for in my comments... and let them know what they mean to you.' Strictly Come Dancing 2025 lineup IN FULL - including Game of Thrones star & famous YouTuber Vicky looked in great spirits as she posed with Strictly's Luba in the first photo, during a glam night out. Then, in another shot, she could be seen standing with Sam, as he put his arm around her and gazed in her direction. The telly stars looked delighted to be in each other's company. Things got frosty between the pals in the past when Sam appeared on Celebrity Big Brother. Viewers saw him get upset after he was warned in the Diary Room for flicking fellow housemate Jemma Lucy's nipple. Vicky, appearing on Big Brother's Bit on the Side, pulled no punches. Speaking about the incident to Rylan, she slammed his behaviour and said: 'I think there are two ways to look at this. "One, he got upset because he knew it was a joke, Jemma knew it was a joke and he didn't mean any offence by it. "Secondly, because he's an entitled little rat who is used to always getting what he wants.' The 'rat' remark ensured the feud had well and truly taken root. Despite having a mutual friend in Towie's Pete Wicks – who is Vicky's best mate and later became one of Sam's closest pals – the two reality stars stayed firmly out of each other's way. Vicky only lifted the block on Sam in 2022 after they unexpectedly bumped into each other at a Harry Potter premiere. But while both became close friends with Pete, they were rarely in the same room at the same time.

Frankie Bridge uses this £34 setting spray to stop her makeup melting on Loose Women

Frankie Bridge revealed that she does her own makeup before Loose Women with a glimpse at her go-to beauty routine including the setting spray that stops her makeup melting on set You'd be forgiven for thinking that just about everyone who appears on TV has a glam squad at their disposal to do all their hair and makeup before their appearance. However Frankie Bridge has revealed that she does her own makeup when she posted 'A little GRWM routine before Loose Women ' video on Instagram. As a regular panellist on the show Frankie clearly has her routine down to a fine art, and knows how to make sure it lasts despite the hours on set under hot studio lights. And one item in her routine is to thank for that; the KOSAS Cloud Set Airy Setting Mist. Frankie applies the setting spray as the last step in her routine, and it's the secret to keeping all of her hard work firmly in place, with no smudging or separating no matter how hot it is in the studio. The setting spray is £34, but for the price you get a huge 100ml bottle that should last you a while, and considering how flawless Frankie's makeup always looks, it comes highly recommended. The KOSAS Cloud Set Airy Setting Mist is oil-free, which helps prevent your makeup from separating or becoming cakey after application. Instead it has an ultra-fine, airy mist spray that settles in a light layer across your skin, locking your products in place without changing their appearance. It also helps get rid of shine without looking matte or chalky so you can maintain your glow, with a hydrating formula that improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of pores. If you prefer something that adds even more glow to your skin, Refy's Face Setter (£22) is a hydrating skincare mist and makeup setting spray in one, which leaves your skin with a natural-looking dewy finish. Alternatively, if you prefer a more matte, shine-free finish, the ONE/SIZE On 'Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray (£32) is ideal. Not only does it mattify skin, but it's fully waterproof making it a great choice for holidays or watersports activities. The KOSAS Cloud Set Airy Setting Mist however also allows your skin to breathe underneath it, rather than creating a mask-like film over the top, which stops it feeling dry, tight or sticky. Whilst it's mainly used directly after applying makeup, you can also use it throughout the day for a refreshing top up. Sephora shoppers have also been raving about it, with one saying: ' The way this mist sets makeup should be studied. It instantly transforms your makeup to a weightless, skin-like finish. It also mists with great diffusion for a perfect application. My skin can get oily so I can also appreciate that I didn't get greasy with this spray. Kosas always meets the expectation.' Another agreed: 'This setting spray is absolutely amazing! I was a bit hesitant with trying a newer setting spray but this one set my makeup really nicely. the mister on the bottle is also the perfect because just enough comes out without drenching your face.' Some were less taken with it, with one writing: 'As a facial mist this is fine, but as a setting spray it does absolutely nothing.' Whilst a second said: 'This spray feels amazing on my skin. However, it doesn't make my makeup last any longer. I haven't seen skin improvement. This is lovely but I don't think it actually has a purpose. If you want a makeup setting spray, look to Hourglass or Urban Decay.' But others can't get enough of the KOSAS Cloud Set Airy Setting Mist, with one happy customer writing: 'Best setting spray on market for mature skin. Worth the money!'
