Kaizer Chiefs want to sign former coach and ex-player!

Kaizer Chiefs want to let bygones be bygones. This former coach and player are both on their radar.
Kaizer Chiefs have big plans underway ahead of the 2025/26 PSL season.
To date, Amakhosi have signed SIX new players. Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, Siphesihle Ndlovu have all joined the Soweto giants. Whilst, FIVE players have already left and FIVE more Chiefs players are heading out of Naturena. However, there are even more moves lined up – the coaching box and the playing squad.
As reported on The South African, Chiefs want to bring back former head coach Dillon Sheppard to the senior technical team.
'That's the plan. The club is believed to have spoken to the senior technical team about his addition and apparently all parties agreed that it's a good idea, mainly in assisting with the local players whether young or experienced stars. So that's the position right now,' the insider stated on SNL .
Furthermore, he could take up a hybrid coaching role at Chiefs next season.
'The arrangement is that he would be with the senior team during the week, and when, and if the DDC is playing, then he will be with them. You know most of the time coach Vela Khumalo is with the Under-17 national team and in September they are going to the FIFA Under-17 World Cup so coach Sheppard will still be coaching there (in the DDC) as well. Apparently that's the arrangement as things stand,' he added on the same publication.
Former Chiefs player, Lebohang Lesako has caught Amakhosi scouts and recruiters attention.
'Some Chiefs scouts and recruiters have been following his progress. They know him already as he is their former player and they are happy on how he has progressed from where he was before to where he is this season. He has shown growth both as a player and as a person and that's what makes them happy with his progress. They are believed to have enquired about him as they have shown interest in him,' the insider told SoccerLaduma .
So, Amakhosi are keen to bring him back to Naturena.

Kaizer Chiefs spark early optimism with perfect Betway Premiership start

Kaizer Chiefs' Glody Lilepo fight for the ball with Richards Bay's Siyabonga Nzama during their Betway Premiership match. Kaizer Chiefs have begun the 2025/26 Betway Premiership with a renewed sense of purpose, turning last season's frustrations into early optimism. After a campaign marked by inconsistency and disappointment, Amakhosi appear to have rediscovered their rhythm, giving supporters fresh hope with a perfect start to the season. Last year's main flaw was their inability to maintain consistency; despite adjustments, they repeatedly dropped valuable points, eventually finishing ninth. It was a bitter pill for a club of their stature, and expectations for this season were understandably cautious. Following their 1-0 win over Richards Bay FC at the FNB Stadium, hope has been restored. Of course, no titles are decided in August nor the order of the table, but a strong start provides a foundation on which confidence can be built — and the Glamour Boys have done just that. Here we will look at the five key talking points from their season so far. A team finding its identity and playing style? Much of the buzz this season has focused on head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who has been away attending to a family emergency. Questions naturally arose over whether his absence might disrupt the rhythm the team has found, but those doubts have largely been put to rest. Assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef confirmed that Nabi has remained deeply involved, helping guide the side from back home and he might be in the bench in their match against Mamelodi Sundowns next week.

Orlando Pirates: Devin Titus vs Mashiloane?

Stellenbosch forward Devin Titus has been a thorn in the Orlando Pirates side for a few years now. The last time he played against the Buccaneers at the Orlando Stadium, he scored the only goal as his team handed Pirates their first league defeat of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season. On Wednesday, the 23-year-old forward returns to the very stadium he silenced thousands of Bucs fans just eight months ago. Both Pirates and Stellies are yet to win a league match after two rounds and will be desperate to turn things around. The Bafana Bafana star is known for his pace and eye for goal and has led Stellenbosch's attack with the departure of Iqraam Rayners. Pirates are vulnerable in defence, having conceded every league match this season. It remains to be seen who Abdeslam Ouaddou will field at right-back. Tshepo Mashiloane has been the coach's preferred right-back for the Buccaneers but the ex-Baroka defender has struggled so far. If Orlando Pirates start with Mashiloane, Titus might have a good outing in Orlando once again. Oouaddou might also consider ex-stellies captain Deano van Rooyen, who played against Mamelodi Sundowns this past weekend. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Kaizer Chiefs set their sights on the league title — Are they ready?

Looking good Kaizer Chiefs players celebrate Gaston Sirino's goal during their Betway Premiership clash against Richards Bay at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Tuesday evening. Photo: Gavin Barker/BackpagePix Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have opened their league campaign in flawless fashion with three wins from three – and now they've set their sights on the ultimate prize.. According to assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef, who has been in charge of the team in head coach Nasreddine Nabi's absence, the club wants to go all the way and dethrone Mamelodi Sundowns as the kings of South African football. 'We have our target inside the team between the players and the technical staff,' Youssef said after Tuesday's 1-0 win over Richards Bay, as quoted by iDiski Times. 'And it's written in our meeting room inside the village. We know what we need to do, and we keep it between us… For us, we take it game by game, we don't think about anything, we don't have any pressure. [But] for sure, Kaizer Chiefs is one of the biggest teams in South Africa – if we play in the league, we play to win the league.'
