Watch Chris Evans's "spectacular" sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer for free tonight
Released in 2013, the movie marks director Bong Joon-ho's English-language debut, with the Parasite filmmaker also co-writing the script with Kelly Masterson.
An adaptation of the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette, Snowpiercer has now been added to ITV's streaming platform ITVX, where it can be watched for free.

Certified Fresh on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, with a score of 94%, critics have praised the film as "an audaciously ambitious action spectacular".
Snowpiercer is set in 2031. After a climate engineering attempt to counteract global warming went awry, the last survivors escaped freezing to death by boarding a bullet train in perpetual motion on a globe-encircling track.
Aboard the train, passengers are segregated by class in an unequal resource distribution system that sees the tail stowaways enslaved and surviving on cockroach protein bars.
The wealth-poor divide gives rise to a revolt, with Curtis Everett (Evans) emerging as the leader of the revolution.

A TV series, also titled Snowpiercer, reboots the events of the film and the graphic novel, focusing on what happened seven years after the world froze over.
Featuring Bong Joon-ho amongst its executive producers, the series was developed by Josh Friedman and Graeme Manson and ran for four seasons, aired between 2020 and 2024.

A Fantastic Four trilogy was originally planned in the '00s, and Reed Richards star Ioan Gruffud was surprised the third movie didn't go ahead because of the success of the first two. "The mindset was that we were going to do three, and I think the second movie was equally successful as the first and equally enjoyable for the fans," Gruffud told Vulture. "I particularly loved working with Doug Jones [as the Silver Surfer] on that movie, who's just a terrific artist and an expert in the field of movement. If you want to witness somebody bringing a character to life physically, he's just untouchable. So there was definitely that sort of momentum, and the plan was to do three movies, but these decisions are beyond my control." Gruffud played Reed Richards, AKA Mister Fantastic, in 2005's Fantastic Four and its 2007 follow-up, Rise of the Silver Surfer. Both movies performed well at the box office, but neither received critical acclaim: Fantastic Four has a score of 28% on Rotten Tomatoes, while Rise of the Silver Surfer has a slightly improved 37%. "As an actor, you almost grieve every part that you've played, and this was no different," he continued. "This was a massive stepping stone in my career, and because this was two movies over several years, the character becomes part of you." Alongside Gruffud, Jessica Alba played Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Chris Evans was Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Michael Chiklis played Ben Grimm/the Thing. Evans recently reprised his role as Johnny Storm for a cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine as one of the discarded variants the titular duo encounter in the Void. Now, though, Marvel's First Family have been rebooted again (following 2015's disastrous remake) and made their MCU debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach take on the eponymous quartet. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is out now in theaters. Heatwaves are melting students' ability to learn these subjects
A massive report studying nearly 14.5 million students in 61 countries found that long-term heat exposure is interfering with students' abilities to learn —and prolonged heat streaks are only getting worse. Why it matters: Increasingly high temperatures are worsening disparate educational outcomes, with the potential for long-term impacts on graduation rates and cognitive ability to grow as the globe continues to warm. Zoom in: The new systematic review of seven studies found that students' cognitive abilities were most likely to be impacted when doing complex tasks like math, over more "simpler ones" like reading. An analysis of over 12,000 U.S. districts found that long-term exposure to high temperatures during the day specifically reduced students' mathematics scores by 11%. Lower-income students are 6.2% more likely to attend schools with inadequate air conditioning when compared to those who live in high-income areas. One study estimated that by 2050, a potential temperature increase of 1.5°C (2.7° F) in the U.S. could reduce the performance of elementary school students, as measured by math and English tests grades, by 9.8%, if no adaptation measures are taken. Yes, but: Adaption by increasing the use of air conditioning appears to be successful at reducing the cognitive effects, as Axios has previously reported. "Without air conditioning, each 1° F increase in school year temperature reduces the amount learned that year by one percent," a separate study from the National Bureau of Economic Research found. A 2024 report from the Center for American Progress estimated that it'll cost more than $4.4 billion nationally for tens of thousands of public schools to install or upgrade energy-efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to meet increased cooling needs. Zoom out: Millions of American children are attending school in "urban heat zones," according to a recent report by environmental advocacy group Climate Central. The group studied America's 65 largest cities, reviewing data collected from nearly 6.2 million enrolled students among more than 12,000 schools. Roughly 76% of students live in places where the built environment around them adds at least an additional 8°F of heat.
