Rumor Killer on WWE ‘Re-Doing' Carmella's Money In The Bank Win

Yahoo16-05-2025
In WWE history, there is only one female Superstar who has won the Money in The Bank Ladder match twice. It is none other than the Princess of Staten Island, Carmella. She won the match back in June of 2017 at the Money In The Bank PLE. It was the first ever Women's Money In The Bank Ladder match. She did it with the help of her henchman, James Ellsworth. A week later on SmackDown, a rematch took place and again Carmella won the match.
At the Premium Live Event, James Ellsworth, who was the former SmackDown Women's Champion's henchman at the time, was the one who grabbed the briefcase and handed it over to Carmella. Then, in the rematch, the Staten Island Princess managed to climb up the ladder and grab the briefcase on her own. Of course, at times Ellsworth did help her.

There had been rumors for a long time that the only reason the rematch took place on an episode of SmackDown Live because there was a lot of fan backlash from James Ellsworth being the first person to retrieve the briefcase in the first-ever Women's Money In The Ladder Match.
Recently, James Ellsworth took to Twitter to respond to a fan who reiterated the above-mentioned rumor. Ellsworth shared that the rematch was always the plan. Both Carmella and Ellsworth knew about the rematch even before the PLE match.
'Actually not true. We always knew we were doing the second one before the first one happened; we did a rehearsal the next day for the second one . But you know 'internet,'' James Ellsworth tweeted.
What are your thoughts on the Money In The Bank Ladder Match rematch?

WWE Superstar Becky Lynch Is Set To Introduce New Entrance Music

Entrance music is huge in the WWE universe. Don't believe me? Take a listen to the crowd when Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, CM Punk, or Seth Rollins are on their way to the ring. The crowd erupts and sings along like they are at their favorite artist's concert and they just started performing their favorite song. This is especially the case for the more established Superstars. They don't come much bigger and more established than Becky Lynch. And yes, The Man is reportedly getting new entrance music soon. According to Fightful Select, Lynch will debut new entrance music soon—and it's not just a random update. The new theme is a collaboration with pop-punk band The Wonder Years, something Lynch herself teased on Instagram earlier in the day. The track will replace her long-time walkout 'Celtic Invasion,' a song that's followed her through some of her biggest WWE moments. It's a major switch and comes just as she's building momentum as WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion. Her next title defense is locked in for SummerSlam Night Two, where she'll face Lyra Valkyria. And if she wins, Valkyria won't be able to challenge for the title again as long as Lynch holds it. High stakes. New sound. Same Man energy. 'Celtic Invasion' has become one of the most iconic entrance themes in recent WWE history. When it drops, Lynch's fans explode. However, it is a theme that has always seemed best suited for a babyface. As Lynch appears to be embracing her heel persona, it could be time for a change to a song that fits her new vibe. Fans will be watching and listening closely during SummerSlam Night 2 to hear Lynch's new music. If it's too good, it might be even harder for fans to dislike The Man. Jelly Roll gives credit to WWE stars ahead of SummerSlam: 'That wrestling-is-fake stuff gotta go out the door'

Country music star Jelly Roll is set for a tag-team match at SummerSlam with WWE star Randy Orton against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul this weekend. Jelly Roll appeared at WrestleMania 41 back in April, and as of late he was mixing it up in the ring as he tried to save Orton from McIntyre and Paul's assaults. The 6-foot-1 music star also took a dropkick to the face from McIntyre at Saturday Night's Main Event. On the penultimate "Friday Night SmackDown" before SummerSlam, Jelly Roll delivered a Black Hole Slam to Paul. It was one of the last licks to get in before his match. Make no mistake, Jelly Roll said, pro wrestling is as real as it gets. "These men and women put their bodies through hell … I really understand it now that I went in there. . . . Listen man, that wrestling-is-fake stuff gotta go out the door," he said Friday on ESPN's "Get Up." "There's no fake way to land on a piece of plywood in-front of 60,000 people. There's no fake way to go over a cable rope. "I broke my pinkie week one of training by accident. It's a constant collision." Jelly Roll added that he wouldn't have had "any courage" to perform at SummerSlam if he didn't have Orton in his corner. Orton also gave Jelly Roll massive praise for how he's handled the increased spotlight in the last few weeks. "I think it's pretty much common knowledge that Jelly Roll is an amazing human being. He makes time for everybody no matter who you are. He met my wife while he was hosting the 'Jimmy Kimmel Show' a few weeks ago," Orton said. "He was doing rehearsal, he was being pulled every which way, everyone needed a piece of Jelly Roll for rehearsal, but he made five minutes of time to meet my wife and gave her his time. "He's just an amazing human being and he's working as hard as anyone if not harder as anyone who's come into our world." SummerSlam is set for Saturday and Sunday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
