Divorce has made Sofia Vergara hopeful of finding love
The 53-year-old actress was married to her school sweetheart Joe Gonzalez, 54, from 1990 until 1993, and she had a 33-year-old son named Manolo with him.
In 2023, her second husband Joe Manganiello, 48, filed for divorce after seven years of marriage and their divorce was finalised in February 2024.
Sofia claimed the split happened because Joe wanted to start a family, something that has been denied by the Magic Mike actor - who has since been in a relationship with actress Caitlin O'Connor, 35, for two years.
Although Sofia has embraced single life, she remains "positive and hopeful" that she will eventually find her Mr. Right.
The Modern Family star told the new issue of Britain's Closer magazine: "Divorce taught me that there is always hope.
"Sometimes things don't work out because there is a huge issue that neither of you want to compromise on, but it's always important to stay positive and hopeful."
Despite her marriages ending, Sofia still thinks the man of her dreams is out there somewhere.
She said: "I do still believe in love.
"In life things don't always work out as we expected or wanted them to, but even when we have experienced disappointment, I think it's good for the heart to at least be open to finding love."
And Sofia has listed some of the qualities she wants her next boyfriend to have.
She revealed: "I want somebody who still wants to have a lot of fun in life, who laughs a lot and makes me laugh."
Sofia played the feisty and outspoken alter ego Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the ABC series Modern Family from 2009 until the show ended in 2020.
The sitcom finished after 11 seasons with creators Christopher Lloyd, 65, and Steven Levitan, 63, wrapping up the extended Pritchett family's story, but Sofia misses playing Gloria - who was married to patriarch Jay Pritchett, played by Ed O'Neill - and would love the characters to return in the future.
She said: "I miss playing Gloria, I absolutely loved playing Gloria.
"Even though we were a fictional family, we became like a real family. I miss all of my castmates - I would do anything to be able to work with them all again.
"At some point, I hope the show could make a comeback.
"It would be the easiest 'yes' for me. That's why I keep texting Ed [O'Neill, on-screen husband], reminding him not to die, we could never do it without him!"

Proof that the art of letter-writing isn't dead! Anyone have any suggestions for my next do?' he said. The post attracted messages of support from fellow TV stars. Fellow colleague, ABC Breakfast TV presenter James Glenday said: 'Never change Nate! We can have some fun with this. And anyway, it's better to be looked over than overlooked?' MasterChef judge Poh Ling Yeow wrote, 'Can u please make it extra 'juvenile'? Nate I used to get hate mail about my 'fake' laugh. ABC viewers.' Dancing With The Stars judge Todd McKenney added, 'This has made my day. I thought I was the only one to get this sort of feedback! You always rock your look. Don't touch one strand!' Meanwhile, fans rallied around Byrne and defended his new hairstyle. 'Dear Disappointed Viewer, your opinion is important, just not to anyone here. Yours sincerely, 68-year-old bald guy,' commented one fan. 'Omg how ridiculous. Nate you are AMAZING, a beautiful human, who is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, clearly love your job, your passion lights up the screen. We LOVE YOU. Do not change, you are a very rare treasure. Xxxx' another said. 'I actually said to my dad the other morning I noticed you'd had a haircut. I said to him if I was a gay man you'd be my type. Nate, you're hot,' a third added. Byrne who has been presenting ABC's morning program since 2017 previously was applauded by viewers for how he handled an on-air panic attack in August last year. The panic attack came as he was reading Queensland's weather forecast. 'I'm actually going to need to stop for a second,' he said suddenly, before mentioning the condition which affects him. 'Some of you may know that I occasionally get affected by some panic attacks, and actually that's happening right now." He then asked to hand the broadcast back to co-presenters Lisa Millar and Michael Rowland. Millar agreed and took the opportunity to bring up a piece Byrne wrote in 2022 about suffering panic attacks on-air. 'Nate wrote a great piece on the ABC online website about this and I reckon we might re-up it, put it on our socials, you can have a bit of a read,' she said. 'The response when he first wrote about it and spoke about it was that everyone said, 'Oh thank god, Nate's not perfect, we thought he was perfect, but actually he's now sharing something'.'

Dan Bourchier appointed General Manager of NITV
The respected journalist, presenter and accomplished leader will join National Indigenous Television (NITV) in September Bourchier brings more than 25 years' media experience, including most recently as a presenter and journalist at the ABC, and previously with Sky News and NITV. A proud Aboriginal man who grew up on Warumungu Country, NT, with family connections in Victoria, he has a record of championing First Nations storytelling, and has reported stories and delivered coverage from across the country. He is also passionate about creating culturally safe spaces for Indigenous voices, including as Chair of the ABC's Bonner Committee, the broadcaster's primary First Nations advisory body. As General Manager, Bourchier will play a critical role in driving continued audience and community impact for NITV, working closely with NITV's senior leadership team and across the SBS network. He will oversee broadcast and digital strategy and lead day-to-day operations across its portfolio, as well as contribute through select on-air appearances and public outreach. He joins as SBS expands its commitment to amplifying First Nations stories and perspectives, following the announcement earlier this year of Tanya Denning-Orman's appointment as SBS Director, First Nations, to lead a network-wide strategy to increase Indigenous content, culture and leadership throughout SBS – including the elevation of NITV at the heart of the network. 'This feels like coming home. NITV gave me my start in television back in 2010 as a political reporter, and returning now as General Manager is a privilege. NITV has always been an incubator of talented journalists and storytellers and is today investing more than ever in original First Nations programming, working with the First Nations media sector across the country,' said Bourchier. 'I'm excited to work alongside such incredible people – a team that continues to blaze a trail in truth-telling the stories that reflect the depth, diversity and strength of our communities. Together, we'll build on NITV's proud legacy and take it even more powerfully into the future.' Bourchier was most recently a senior news anchor for the ABC News Channel since 2024 and has been Chair of the ABC's Bonner Committee since 2022. Prior to this, he led the ABC's national coverage of the Voice to Parliament Referendum and hosted The Drum . He is also an accomplished company director and has held governance leadership roles including Chair of BlakDance, Council Member of the University of Canberra Council, and Non-Executive Director of Outback Stores. 'Dan brings a wealth of media experience, strong cultural knowledge, and a passion for championing First Nations voices — all deeply valuable as NITV enters this exciting new era,' said Denning-Orman. 'I look forward to working with Dan to share the vital work delivered by NITV with wider audiences across the entire network, and ensuring First Nations voices are deeply embedded in our national storytelling.' SBS Director of Television Kathryn Fink said: 'We're delighted to welcome Dan back. His incredible experience and commitment to First Nations storytelling will be instrumental as he leads NITV's talented team. NITV has never been stronger, with prime-time audiences growing in a declining linear market, thriving digital platforms, a rich pipeline of First Nations content, and growing commercial revenue. Dan's leadership will build on this momentum and take NITV to the next level, while ensuring its influence continues to be felt across the media landscape, elevating First Nations stories.' Established in 2007, NITV is available free-to-air as part of the SBS network since December 2012 and today delivers award-winning, critically acclaimed First Nations content across news, current affairs, drama, documentary, entertainment, sport and children's programming. In 2024-25, NITV reached 4.1 million Australians monthly on linear and SBS On Demand,1 helping drive almost 19 million hours of Indigenous content consumed across the SBS network's television, audio and digital platforms.2 Bourchier will commence in his role as General Manager of NITV on 29 September 2025.
