June 14 Opening Date For 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs
New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta and her cabinet ministers are set to inaugurate 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs on June 14. While she will inaugurate seven centres — one physically and six virtually — six cabinet ministers have been deputed for physical inaugurations in their respective constituencies.
Gupta will also inaugurate Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras across 15 state-run hospitals on the same day so that patients can have easy access to inexpensive medicines.
According to officials in the health department, all 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, including four sub-centres and twenty-nine primary health centres managed by various agencies, including MCD, NDMC, DDA, and the health department, are operational and scheduled for formal inauguration on Saturday.
More Ayushman Arogya Mandirs may become operational by the end of the week, they said.
The six cabinet ministers who will attend the physical inaugurations include Pankaj Kumar Singh (health minister), Parvesh Verma (PWD), Ashish Sood (home and education), Manjinder Singh Sirsa (environment), Ravinder Indraj Singh (social welfare) and Kapil Mishra (culture and arts).
Both primary health centres and sub-centres will provide comprehensive facilities encompassing preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative care services.
These new centres will offer expanded services beyond mohalla clinics, including cancer screening, immunisation and family planning. However, the installation of NAAT machines for TB testing is still in progress, and screening for TB will be continued at the centres.
Unlike other states that employ community health officers, Delhi has posted MBBS doctors at these centres.
Officials stated that the centres complied with the Indian Public Health Standards-2022 guidelines established for urban areas.
These standards outline requirements for infrastructure, staffing, medicines, diagnostic equipment and essential health services.
Delhi govt has identified 964 locations for establishing Ayushman Arogya Mandir sub-centres under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission initiative over the next nine months.
Of these, 255 new permanent facilities will replace the current mohalla clinics operating in temporary structures, with equipment and medicines being transferred.
The remaining sites include 655 owned by various govt bodies or PSUs; 47 pre-existing municipal corporation sub-centres; and seven functional sub-centres to be converted into Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and opened in Phase I.
Officials said that patients could purchase generic medicines from Jan Aushadhi Kendras, offering a cheaper alternative to costly branded medicines available at pharmacies around hospitals. In emergencies, when a specific medicine is unavailable at a health facility, hospital administrations may procure it from the Jan Aushadhi Kendra instead of relying on local purchases, unless necessary.

Female doctor assaulted by patient's relatives at Delhi govt hospital
A female resident doctor was brutally assaulted by five women attendants of a patient at Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital in Rohini on Monday following the death of a newborn baby, police said. An FIR has been registered against the accused, who were later released on bail, they added. The attack took place around 2pm in the corridor between the labour room and wards 11 and 12, when five women allegedly cornered a second-year gynaecology resident and began physically assaulting her, police said. Another resident doctor who attempted to intervene was also injured, they added. 'While I was passing through the corridor, I saw four to five women suddenly approach and point at the victim saying, 'Yahi hai woh doctor, ise maaro' (This is that doctor, beat her). They started assaulting her. Her clothes were torn, they pulled her by her hair and punched her repeatedly. When I tried to protect her, they turned on me as well,' said the second doctor who was injured in the scuffle. According to hospital officials, the patient whose relatives attacked the doctor had delivered a baby about a week ago. The infant was critically ill and placed on a ventilator. Despite undergoing Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the newborn died after seven days on Monday morning. The mother remains admitted and is receiving treatment. Dr Meenakshi Sidhar, medical director of the hospital, told HT: 'While guards are posted across the hospital, the attack happened at a location where it took some time for them to reach. Immediately after the incident, the victim's MLC was done, and an institutional FIR was filed.' She added that 'all hospital security staff have been reinstated' and measures are being implemented to prevent future incidents. In response to the incident, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) on Tuesday, wrote to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, expressing 'deep anguish and alarm' over the attack. 'Despite prior assurances and policy discussions, doctors continue to work in an environment of fear, without adequate security, and with little to no accountability from administrative bodies,' FAIMA stated in their letter. The association also demanded immediate release of CCTV footage and strict action under relevant BNS sections for physical assault, attempted strangulation, and assault on a public servant. A criminal case has been registered under multiple sections of Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita including obstructing a public servant during their duty, assault, wrongful restraint, use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe and provisions of the Medical Services Personnel and Medical Service Institutions Act 2008, though all five accused women were subsequently released after being bound down in the case, police said. 'The attendants assaulted the doctor 'in the heat of anger,' they added in a statement.

CM says previous AAP govt. could not manage COVID-19
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday heaped praises on the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for extending support to Delhi during the COVID-19 pandemic. She criticised the former Aam Aadmi Party government, alleging it had failed in managing the COVID-19 period and assured that the BJP government will not repeat the 'mistakes done by AAP government in the past'. Her comments came amid the re-emergence of COVID-19 cases in the country. COVID-19 cases in Delhi have been dropped by 37, bringing down the total active caseload to 691. 'The condition in which the people of Delhi spent their 11 years was quite distressing. During the COVID-19 period, the then Delhi government issued death certificates to only 97 people, whereas everyone saw the reality of overflowing crematoriums. Regrettably, those deaths were not even recorded,' said Ms. Gupta during a press conference, adding that the Centre extended a 'helping hand' during those dark days. Ms. Gupta said that the Centre provided free ration to nearly 80 lakh people at that time when the then Delhi government was 'hiding behind the closed doors'. Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, who was also present at the press conference, took on the Arvind Kejriwal government. He stated that it was the Centre that took care of Delhi when the previous AAP government left Delhi helpless during the COVID-19 period. Pointing out the development in the healthcare infrastructure in the Capital, the CM said, 'Today, AIIMS alone conducts around five lakh outpatient department (OPD) visits annually linked to Delhi, which reduces the burden on hospitals here. Corruption in the health sector was rampant during the previous government, which has now been stopped. 1,500 nurses have been permanently appointed to fill the infrastructural gaps caused by staff shortages.' CM Gupta said that the government had begun a rollout of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, enabling Delhiites to benefit from a slew of Central government's welfare programmes. She said that her administration has initiated work on 1,100 new Arogya Kendras (health centres), with 34 centres nearing completion. Their inauguration is scheduled for June 14.

700 PVTG ration card holders out of Ayushman in Palamu
1 2 3 Daltonganj: Around 7,000 ration card holders belonging to the particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) communities in Palamu are yet to get the Ayushman card. There are around 14,000 PVTG ration card holders in the district. This was detected during the review meeting of the health services by deputy commissioner Sameera S on Monday. "All ration card holders of the PVTG should be provided with the Ayushman card at the earliest," she directed civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar. Speaking to TOI, Dr Kumar said, "Aadhaar cards of the PVTG ration card holders have not been updated. Further, they are not linked to mobile phones, which is a major reason of the gap." The issue of middlemen influencing blood bank was also raised. The DC told the officials, "I received three complaints in one week about middlemen dominating the blood bank. Identify such elements and control them. It's unacceptable." The issue of ambulances was also taken up. Last week, an accident victim died in the sub-divisional hospital in Hussainabad as there was no oxygen nor could she be taken to any higher centre as the driver had left his ambulance parked and taken the key.
