After Babil Khan's exit from Baby remake, film marking debut of Govinda's son Yashvardhan Ahuja's on hold: Report
Babil Khan was reportedly cast to play the lead role in the film. With Babil quitting the film, the producers will have to find his replacement. The production reportedly has been "indefinitely postponed".
Citing a source, the report said, 'The makers spent nearly six months finalising the female lead, a debutante, and now face the daunting task of recasting the male lead. It's going to take a lot of time. As of now, the production is on hold, with no confirmed timeline for resuming.'
The Hindi remake of the 2023 Telugu romantic drama Baby was reportedly scheduled to start filming from May 5. Sai Rajesh had also directed the Telugu film. Produced by Madhu Mantena, Allu Aravind's Geetha Arts and Sreenivasa Kumar Naidu, Babil was cast to star in the role played by Anand Deverakonda in the originl, while Yashvardhan was chosen to play Viraj Ashwin's character.
It all started when Babil posted videos on his Instagram Stories, lashing out at Bollywood celebrities and name-dropping several actors. Later, he deactivated his account only to return, saying that the videos were "extremely misinterpreted", claiming he was praising the actors and not criticising them.
Following this, Sai shared a lengthy note on his Instagram Stories slamming Babil. A part of his post read, "...we do deserve an apology for how things have been handled. I genuinely wanted to stand by him even until an hour ago. But if you're taking us for granted, that stops here. These sympathy games won't work on us anymore. A sincere apology is the least you owe us. Say it, and let's move on." Babil slammed Sai in the comment section, only to delete everything.
Later in his Instagram post, Babil announced that he exited the film "due to unforeseen circumstances", adding that he will take some time off. A part of his post read, "Since I will be taking some time off currently, I wish the best to Sai Rajesh sir and the film team on their future journey." Sai in his post called Babil "one of the most talented and hardworking actors", adding that they will work together in the future. He added that he respects Babil's "decision of self-care first".

Kajol was once asked to remove clothes in front of everyone by her cousin brother, Ajay Devgn was also there, the film is... In Hindi films, intense family dramas are a common theme. From sibling rivalries to placing loved ones in distressing situations, the narratives are often build up to heighten the drama. Yet, these on-screen moments can be challenging especially when the actors involved share a close bond off-screen, making the performances more intense. One such moment occurred in 1995 in the action film Gundaraj , when Kajol and Mohnish Bahl portrayed characters entangled in a harrowing plot twist. How is Kajol related to Mohnish Bahl? Kajol, known for her captivating screen presence and versatile performances, comes from a renowned film family. Her mother, Tanuja, was a prolific actress, whereas her father, Shomu Mukherjee was a producer-director. Her cousin- Mohnish Bahl, often seen portraying impactful roles, is son of legendary actress Nutan and Rajneesh Bahl. Kajol's most challenging on-screen moment In 1995, action film Gundaraj released, in which Mohnish Bahl portrayed antagonist opposite Ajay Devgan and Kajol. The climax of the film featured a disturbing sequence in which Bahl's character, after holding Ajay Devgn's character hostage, forces Kajol's character to take off her clothes in public. While intended to intensify the dramatic tension, the scene was quite difficult for the actors, especially as Kajol and Mohnish are related off-screen. Despite such an intense scene, they both handled the moment with utmost professionalism, keeping personal relationship separate from artistic demands. Interestingly, Ajay Devgn who was playing lead in the film, later become Kajol's husband in 1999, further strengthening familial bond between the co-stars. Gundaraj marks the only film where, Kajol, Mohnish Bahl, and Ajay Devgan collaborated. After that, the trio didn't star in any further projects.

Sonakshi Sinha On Plight Of Stray Dogs: ‘Every Day Is A Disappointment'
Published By : Shreyanka Mazumdar Trending Desk Last Updated: August 12, 2025, 17:54 IST Sonakshi Sinha says, 'Every day is a disappointment.' (Photo Credit: Instagram) Sonakshi Sinha has reacted to the Supreme Court's order for the relocation of stray dogs in Delhi-NCR region to shelters. She reposted a post by Dogs of India, which emphasises that street dogs are lacking basic necessities like shelter, vaccination and sterilisation. Alongside this, the actress revealed her honest opinion about the same directive. An excerpt from the note shared by Sonakshi Sinha on her Instagram stories read, 'Street dogs are not a problem, they are victims. Victims of fear, hunger, disease, neglect, cruelty and abandonment," which highlighted the plight of street dogs in India. The post further claimed that the stray dogs are also prone to various dangers such as accidents and abuse. Moreover, it talks about how the unfortunate canines also witness their puppies often suffering the same fate. Sonakshi Sinha Slams The Order For Relocation Of Street Dogs The post further criticises practices like selling, dumping or relocating street dogs to overcrowded shelters, claiming that this step is not in favour of animal welfare. Instead, it emphasises a simple solution for this – spaying (a surgical procedure performed on female animals to remove their ovaries and uterus for effectively preventing them from reproducing, as per a report by the VCA Animal Hospitals) and vaccinating street dogs. Sharing the post, Sonakshi Sinha wrote, 'Day by day we expose how soulless we have become as a society," adding, 'Every day is a disappointment." Celebrities Who Slammed The Order For Relocation Of Stray Dogs Several other prominent celebrities from the industry have reacted to the court's order to relocate street dogs. Janhvi Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff, Sophie Choudry and many others penned long notes or reposted viral posts which voiced their opinions, calling the decision 'heartbreaking and cruel." They have pointed out how these steps will result in the complete erasure of the stray dog population. Sophie Choudry Emphasised The Need For A Better Humane Solution On one of her Instagram stories, Sophie wrote, 'This is absolutely heartbreaking and cruel!! There is no way that shelters will have space. There has to be a better solution. What about the actual menaces out there that should be dealt with first?!!" She also shared a piece of experience, adding, 'I get that strays can be scary… I've had a pack of them chase after Tia and me on a beach. It was a narrow escape and could have been terrible. I'm just saying there has to be a more humane solution than what has been declared. As a country, we have to do better when it comes to how we deal with ALL animals. There is far too much cruelty that goes without punishment." Shreyanka Mazumdar Shreyanka Mazumdar is Chief Sub Editor of the entertainment team at News18.
