Kerry Katona says she's 'just desperate to be loved' as Celebs Go Dating returns

Daily Mirror13 hours ago
As Celebs Go Dating returns for a new series, Kerry Katona is desperate for love, while Christine McGuinness is looking to date a woman and S Club pop star Jon Lee tackles his 'car crash' love life...
With plenty of cheek, Celebs Go Dating is back tonight on E4 at 9pm, as more famous people volunteer to be filmed as they look for love. Guided by expert agents Paul C Brunson, Anna Williamson and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, there is plenty of drama and lust as the celebs go dating.
This season kicks off with a mixer in London, hosted by Tom Read Wilson.
On the hunt for love in this latest series are Atomic Kitten blonde bombshell Kerry Katona (not her first time on the show), S Club pop star Jon Lee, Too Hot to Handle lothario Louis Russell, TV personality Christine McGuinness and Love Island sensation Olivia Hawkins.
Kerry says: 'I'm best known for being a singer, a mother, a reality star and a car crash. People think I'm this crazy, partying wild person, when in fact I'm a bit of a loner. In fact, I'm just really boring."
She adds: "The whole dating thing is just not something I do."
Kerry explains: "I just meet somebody and get married. I was very young when I met my first husband, I was 18. We got divorced when I was 25. I got married straight away after that, got divorced, then got married again.
"Then I met my last fiance, but I never actually got up the aisle that time."
Kerry sighs: "I keep getting rejected, that's what it is, I'm never good enough. They always want something else. I just want to be loved. I'm so desperate to be loved.'
She doesn't fare too well though, with Anna Williamson noting that Kerry comes across as 'insincere' when she's talking to potential dates.
Meanwhile model, author and mum-of-three Christine says: "I've been separated from my ex husband for around three years. I met Paddy McGuinness when I was 19.
"I describe my sexuality as being a free spirit. When I was a teenager I dated men and women before I was married and now I'm really, really just enjoying spending time with women.'
While Jon reveals: 'My dating has been a complete car crash, I've been single and celibate for six years. I want a man who's rough around the edges.' Getting their flirt on and testing their dating skills, the celebs work the room and try to look for instant chemistry and sparks.
As the agents watch on, they find out just how hard they're going to have to work to get their famous clients on the path to romance. Paul Brunson says: 'We can see how they operate and gather information.'
Then a secret is revealed - the celebs must choose someone for a first date and it will be in Ibiza. 'How can I go abroad with someone I don't know? This is not normal,' says Christine, finally realising that she is on a reality show. A flash forward shows people swinging their tops around their heads, jumping on lilos, clinking glasses… It's going to be messy.

Strictly Come Dancing confirms Dani Dyer as second 2025 contestant

Strictly Come Dancing has revealed the second star who'll be officially joining the line-up for 2025. Tonight's episode of The One Show is set to reveal the next three celebrities who will be taking to the Strictly floor, with Dani Dyer the first to be announced. Dani, 29, is hoping to capitalise on her Love Island triumph as she takes to the dance floor. After she was revealed on The One Show tonight, the newlywed said: 'Getting the opportunity to be on Strictly is the second most amazing thing I've done this year! I feel very, very blessed and cannot wait to get my dancing shoes on.' Born in London's Canning Town, Dani has fronted several documentaries and has teamed up with her EastEnders star father Danny for podcast Live and Let Dyers and travelogue series Absolutely Dyer: Danny and Dani Do Italy. Having made guest appearances in EastEnders and Celebrity Gogglebox, Dani won Love Island in 2018 and has since amassed over three million social media followers. Dani got married to West Ham footballer Jarrod Bowen in May this year, much to her father's delight. It comes after Strictly Come Dancing's Gorka Marquez pulls out of show. The long-time professional announced that he would be absent for most of the 2025 series of Strictly as he'll be busy filming the Spanish version of the show. "Due to the filming dates this means that I won't be competing with a partner this year in Strictly but I will be a part of lots of the group numbers and will be back for final weeks of the Show to support the rest of my fellow pros and their celebrities in what is going to be an AMAZING SERIES," he wrote on Instagram. The countdown to Strictly is now officially on, with the BBC show slowly unveiling the 2025 cast this week. Earlier today, Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey - also known as Nitro - was revealed as the first contestant to take part on CBBC. The ex Olympian, who took part in the show's Christmas special last year, said in a statement: "After the Christmas Special, it was so nice I just had to do it twice! I'm so excited to be part of the Strictly family this series and I'm ready to give it all I've got. I'll be bringing tons of energy to light up the dance floor. Let's hope I'm as quick picking up the routines as I am on the track." While a number of stars are currently rumoured to be taking part, fans think they've rumbled Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts in the line-up after a huge clue was dropped. BBC Radio 2 confirmed earlier today that she is stopping by tomorrow's breakfast show and has some "news" to share. "I would die she is literally my favourite singer," one fan wrote online. Another said: "I would SCREAM!" It's been an eventful few weeks for Strictly in the lead up to the new series, with bosses reportedly launching an investigation into claims that two of its stars took cocaine. Law firm Pinsent Mason has been hired by the BBC to look into the allegations. A source told the Sun, following the breakout news: "The BBC is taking the allegations really seriously. Bosses are aware of the two stars in question and have a duty of care to make sure they're OK." They added: "As per BBC policy, the option of specialised professional support is on the table and will be offered. While drug testing won't happen on the main show, bosses are considering bringing in random checks for the tour next year."

Perfect Match 2025: Who Is Rachel Recchia

Season three of Netflix's dating show Perfect Match has caused a stir with its twists and turns, but has been compulsive viewing as fans have been tuning in to watch romances play out on screen. One contestant looking for love is Rachel Recchia. Ahead of the finale on 15 August, here's what to know about her… Rachel is an airline pilot and reality TV star, hoping to find her Mr Right on Perfect Match. Rachel was born on 8 March 1996, making her 29 years old. Rachel is ready to expand her dating footprint and 'meet people from all over the world'. She said she's entering Perfect Match with 'no expectations'. Rachel was a contestant on season 26 of The Bachelor in 2021, starring Clayton Echard, where she was co runner-up with fellow finalist Gabby Windey. Both Rachel and Gabby then starred in the 19th series of The Bachelorette in 2022, where she chose Tino Franco as the winner. However, they broke up while the season was still airing after he confessed to cheating on her. In the live finale, Rachel agreed to go on a date with runner-up Aven Jones Rachel, but they decided not to pursue a relationship. She also took part in the ninth season of Bachelor In Paradise in 2023. Ray and Rachel - a match made in heaven? ©Netflix Rachel was reunited with a familiar face at the opening of Perfect Match – her Bachelor ex Clayton. The pair had a devastating split on The Bachelor, which broke her heart. 'I became collateral damage in your journey for love that was the most completely selfish journey… There was no empathy at all for me or Gabby,' she told him, as he pursued fellow contestant Susie Evans. 'You just completely disrespected me, not only as someone you love but as a human. The rose ceremony and then a group breakup? It's almost as if you cast us aside as soon as you could to get to the person you love the most.' Perfect Match has been quite a time for Rachel. After a rollercoaster courtship with Clayton, two match-ups with Love Islander Scott van-der-Sluis and flirty chats with Carrington Rodriguez, she decided to couple up with Love Island US star Ray Gantt.
