The gown got its volume from flowers, as well as a long train
Voluminous gowns with long trains are prohibited at the Cannes Film Festival this year after an update to the dress codeHeidi Klum is making her own rules for the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.
The model attended the Partir Un Jour (Leave One Day) screening and opening ceremony at the 78th Cannes Film Festival on May 13 in a larger-than-life floral Elie Saab gown that was in direct violation of the festival's new dress code.
For the event, Klum wore a floral illusion gown by Elie Saab. The show-stopping piece featured layer after layer of pink organza, cut to mimic delicate floral petals. The Elie Saab piece had a strapless bust and a leg-baring side slit that extended into a carpet-grazing train.
The model also wore Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry for added sparkle.
The 51-year-old went simple with her glam, adding a smoky eye and black eyeliner to her lids, and going light on blush and lip color.
Though Klum's Elie Saab gown was certainly a head-turner, it violates the new Cannes Film Festival dress code, due to its voluminous nature and its long train.
The Cannes Film Festival official FAQ website reads, "nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other area of the festival," due to "decency reasons." The rules further note that "voluminous outfits, in particular those with a large train, that hinder the proper flow of traffic of guests and complicate seating in the theater are not permitted."

Klum wasn't the only one to do a voluminous gown with a floor grazing train at the Partir Un Jour (Leave One Day) screening, either.
Wan QianHui arrived to the same red carpet event as Klum in a cream tulle ball gown with large, ruffled layers. The gown — which is also in violation of the film festival dress code — featured an eye-catching skirt that extended into a massive train.
'This year, the Cannes Film Festival has made explicit in its charter certain rules that have long been in effect. The aim is not to regulate attire per se, but to prohibit full nudity on the red carpet, in accordance with the institutional framework of the event and French law,' new instruction from the festival read.
While the America's Got Talent judge was not apprehended by security at the event, the Cannes FAQ website said that their team 'reserves the right to deny access to individuals whose attire could obstruct the movement of other guests or complicate seating arrangements in the screening rooms.'

Permitted attire at this year's Cannes Film Festival includes 'a little black dress, a cocktail dress, a dark-colored pantsuit, a dressy top with black pants; a black or navy blue suit with bow-tie or dark-colored tie." Attendees can also arrive at the festival in "elegant shoes and sandals with or without a heel," but sneakers are not permitted.
Halle Berry, who is serving as one of the members of the jury at Cannes this year, revealed that the new dress code led to a last-minute change to her red carpet look.
'I had an amazing dress by [Gaurav] Gupta that I cannot wear tonight because it's too big of a train,' Berry told Variety. 'I'm not going to break the rules. The nudity part is also probably a good rule.'

Ashley Biden files for divorce from husband of 13 years

Ashley Biden, the daughter of former President Biden and former first lady Jill Biden, filed for divorce on Monday from her husband, Dr. Howard Krein, after more than 13 years of marriage. Court documents show legal proceedings were filed against Krein in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Moments after filing, Ashley Biden posted, 'New life, new beginnings means new boundaries. New ways of being that won't look or sound like they did before,' on Instagram with the background song set to 'Freedom Time' by Lauryn Hill. Details regarding the divorce were not disclosed as filings did not include details of the complaint. Ashley reportedly met Krein through her deceased brother, Beau Biden, and the two started dating in 2010. Two years later, Ashley Biden and the 58-year-old plastic surgeon and ear, nose and throat doctor married at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church, in Greenville, Delaware, as reported by PEOPLE. Ashley recounted their nuptials at the 2024 Democratic National Convention and discussed her father's final words before the two tied the knot. 'Before he walked me down the aisle, he turned to me and said he would always be my best friend. All these years later, Dad, you are still my best friend,' Ashley said.

Anna Delvey breaks silence after dumped bunnies social media backlash

Anna Delvey is breaking her silence after being accused of dumping multiple rabbits used during a photoshoot in New York City. The "Dancing with the Stars" alum and convicted con artist took to her Instagram Story on Aug. 11 to address now-viral claims that she left two rabbits that were found abandoned in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. The backlash follows Delvey posting a photo carousel with the pair of bunnies and a companion video last week on social media. Delvey explained that a person named Christian Batty, who she described as a "member of the hair team I briefly met" during fashion week last year, had said he "knew someone who could lend us bunnies for a few hours." "I later discovered that, instead of borrowing animals from a legitimate source like (Batty) claimed, he had obtained them via Facebook Marketplace and intended to release them into Prospect Park," Delvey wrote in a lengthy note to fans. "(It was) a plan of which I had no knowledge," Delvey continued. "The idea that someone would compromise the well-being of innocent animals for personal networking opportunities is deeply disturbing to me." In an Aug. 12 statement to USA TODAY, Delvey said that "I'm appalled, and frankly terrified, by the violent threats and hundreds of vile, harassing messages flooding my social media." "I've provided overwhelming proof of my innocence, yet nothing seems to satisfy the performatively outraged masses whose only real aim is to churn hate in my comments and DMs," Delvey added. USA TODAY also reached out to reps for Jasper Egan Soloff, a photographer who worked on the shoot. According to People and The New York Times, Batty released statements on since-deleted social media pages addressing the incident and saying "I felt overwhelmed and made the worst possible choice." 'Dancing With the Stars' Anna Delvey elimination episode received historic fan votes Delvey (aka Anna Sorokin) is the real-life subject of the Netflix series "Inventing Anna" from Shonda Rhimes and served a prison sentence for swindling banks, hotels, and rich friends with a false reputation as a wealthy German heiress. Delvey said on Instagram that she was "appalled by what transpired," adding that "it's not my job to source or return animals" as talent. "But as an animal lover, I can promise I will never work with them again without knowing exactly where they came from and how they're getting home," she added. "I do not eat meat, and I had no involvement in the acquisition, transport or return of these animals. I would never condone these actions." After Delvey posted the photoshoot on social media, vegan influencer Terry Chao said in a post that she noticed that the bunnies from the photo were the same ones she had helped with two neighbors after she saw that there were lost bunnies found in the New York City park in a local Facebook group. "Animals are not props, they are beautiful, living things that we need to honor and cherish," Chao added.

Anna Delvey Denies Abandoning Bunnies in Brooklyn

In today's animal news, Anna Delvey—also known as Anna Sorokin—is declaring that she has nothing to do with the bunnies from her photoshoot that were abandoned in NYC's Prospect Park. Confused? Allow me to explain. Earlier this month, Anna did a photoshoot with bunnies on the streets of NYC. She posed in front of a subway stop with two leashed rabbits at her feet, right in front of her electronic ankle monitor. Days later, a few bunnies were spotted abandoned in Prospect Park, and rescuers online quickly identified them as the same ones used in Anna's shoot. A total of three bunnies believed to have been part of the photoshoot have since been rescued from the area. It's unclear how, exactly, the rabbits got released in the park, though an assistant on the shoot named Christian Batty has taken responsibility. In a since deleted Facebook post, he wrote in part (as reported by People), 'I lied to you, Anna, and the rest of the team about the rabbits. The truth is, I did abandon them in the park. It was wrong, cruel, and inexcusable, and I take full responsibility for my actions.' Christian continued, saying he panicked after being left with the bunnies (which he assumed would be returned to their owners) and believed that there were rabbits in Prospect Park. 'At 19, with no experience caring for animals, no pet-friendly housing, and no knowledge of available resources, I felt overwhelmed and made the worst possible choice,' he explained. Anna has denied any involvement, claiming in her Instagram Story that Christian had obtained the rabbits through Facebook Marketplace and 'intended to release them into Prospect Park.' Anna continued, 'As talent, it's not my job to source or return animals, but as an animal lover, I can promise I will never work with them again without knowing exactly where they come from and how they're getting home.' Anna also shared text messages purported to be between herself and the original owner of the bunnies, who gave the animals to Christian for the shoot. In the texts, the owner confirms that they never agreed to take the bunnies back after the photoshoot was over. 'Christian Batty lied for days about returning the rabbits. Turns out his plan all along was to dump them,' Anna wrote. Anna further proclaimed her innocence in another Instagram Story, claiming that her GPS ankle monitor 'handily rules me out of the most absurd crimes the outraged rabbit mob is frothing over.' She also uploaded what appears to be a receipt for a $1,000 donation to All About Rabbits Rescue. What's more, Anna is claiming to have had no involvement in the concepts or logistics of the shoot, saying she was contacted by the photographer Jasper Egan Soloff. However, Jasper's lawyer, Gary Adelman, has pushed back against this narrative. Speaking to The New York Times, Gary insisted that 'this was not Jasper's photo shoot' and stated, 'Jasper had no knowledge or input as to how the bunnies were obtained or what happened to them after the photo shoot.' Once reports of bunnies abandoned in Prospect Park made the rounds, vegan influencer Terry Chao—who claims to have been approached by Christian prior to the shoot—recognized them and went to rescue the two bunnies with some friends. Per her Instagram, a third bunny was later rescued with help from Christian, and they all remain in her care. Despite Anna's insistence that she was not involved with the mishandling of the animals used in her photoshoot, she doesn't seem thrilled by their rescuers. After Terry shared an Instagram Story of herself doing interviews about the ordeal, Anna reposted it, calling Terry a 'self-righteous clown' and accusing her of 'using rabbits as props and riling up the masses to send me more death threats.' Terry does not appear to have responded, but she is currently accepting donations to help care for the bunnies.
